  • Patent number: 3954294
Abstract: Disclosed is a plastic sealing device comprising a hollow, bottomless cubic body and a sealing strip integrally connected to and extending from said cubic body. The sealing strip has an arrowhead-shaped end, and in use, the arrowhead-shaped end of the strip is inserted in the slits of the hollow cubic body, and is pulled out of the cubic body, thus passing therethrough and closing the open bottom of the cubic body. After passing through the apertures of an object to be sealed, the arrowhead of the strip is inserted in a slit in the top plate of the cubic body until it is caught by catch means within the cubic body. The structure of the sealing device is conveniently amenable to plastic injection moulding and mass-production.

  • Patent number: 3954295
Abstract: Tamperproof shackle seals formed as one-piece plastics mouldings and including, inter alia, the following features: a plug portion of non-circular outline for co-operation with a mating countersunk portion of the socket mouth to prevent effective insertion of a blade; a stop formed on the strap near the plug to limit the effective length of the strap when used with a padlock hasp; respective webs extending along the lengths of resilient fingers in the socket and connecting them either to the adjacent socket wall, or to those fingers disposed adjacently thereto on either side; to prevent free movement of the resilient fingers; and a filler for the plastics material which presents a barrier to heat re-sealing after tampering.

  • Patent number: 3954344
Abstract: Disclosed is an improvement in a coupling mechanism for uniting two plates comprising a coupling member and associated apertures in the plates wherein the coupling member comprises a head portion and two legs integrally connected to the head portion and each having a stepped engaging portion on the periphery thereof, whereby when the two legs are inserted in the apertures of the two plates and rotated by 90.degree., the stepped engaging portions catch some selected parts of the circumference edge of the aperture of one of the plates, and clamp these plates in cooperation with the head portion, which is pushed against the other plate. The coupling mechanism according to this invention further comprises means to regulate the rotation angle of the shank of the coupling member at 90.degree., thus preventing the shank of the coupling member from overrunning the stop position at which the stepped portions catch selected parts of the circumference edge of the aperture of one of the plates to be coupled.

  • Patent number: 3954243
Abstract: A one piece plastic fastener for supporting secondary members relative to a thin panel in a shouldered non-circular aperture. The fastener provides a wide distribution of stress loading by a large hook-like prong which is rotated into contact with the backside of the panel by telescoping it through the aperture until the head covers the aperture. A resilient arm extends from the prong into engagement with the edge of the non-circular aperture to prevent unintentional retrograde motion of the fastener. The fastener can be removed, if desired, by introduction of a thin member under the head to unseat the resilient arm.

  • Patent number: 3947076
Abstract: A pulley is provided with a bi-ended, hollow tube bearing, bracket mounting assembly. The bearing tube is slit from one end to the other, and one of the lips thus formed is displaced inwardly in chordal relationship to the balance of the bearing along all or a portion of the bearing axial length. This displaced lip catches drippings from a lubricant-impregnated bushing, and returns them to the bushing.

  • Patent number: 3945594
Abstract: A cable clamp which is a one piece plastics moulding, grips by two pairs of wings, and independently resists both pushing and pulling of the cable because the two pairs incline in opposite directions. The cable is slid along the gripping edges of the wings when being applied to the clamp, and the wings do not bend or crimp the cable. The clamp can have an integral closeable lid and a fastener for anchoring to an apertured support.

  • Patent number: 3943607
Abstract: A binder of a plastic material is disclosed which comprises a slender shaft with a suitable thickness and a plurality of disc-shaped flanges disposed at fixed intervals in the longitudinal direction of the said shaft. Articles given to be fastened are bundled or bound by winding this binder around the articles, crossing the loose remaining ends of the binder each other at right angles and pressing the corresponding pairs of adjacent flanges into entanglement.
