Abstract: A proposed method to illuminate optimally, or at least in an improved fashion compared with existing solutions, a road taken by a vehicle in question implementing the method whilst ensuring that other vehicles are not dazzled. To this end, it is not proposed in the invention to detect the distance between the vehicle in question and the first vehicle liable to be dazzled by the vehicle in question, and to generate accordingly a light beam optimized in terms of range on the road, and advantageously light intensity; according to the invention, the optimization of the light beam produced is achieved by the use of the motorway function available on the vehicle in question. The use of this function in this context also ensures a gradual transition between the function of the dipped type and the function of the main-beam type in the context of automatic switching operations between these functions.

Abstract: An inner or secondary door and temperature control system for use on a vehicle or trailer having a storage compartment and a first or primary door associated with a first entry or entryway into the storage compartment. The secondary door provides a moveable barrier or door that is situated in operative relationship to the first entry or entryway associated with the first door in order to prevent thermal loss from the storage compartment area during deliveries or at times when the first door is open.
Abstract: An obstacle detection device comprising an imaging system for a motor vehicle, including at least one optical sensor, integrated in a lighting or signaling device of this vehicle. A field of vision of this at least one optical sensor can be oriented substantially along a longitudinal axis of the vehicle or substantially along a transverse axis of the vehicle.

Abstract: A tulip assembly configured to be coupled to a head of a bone fixation device includes at least one inner member configured to fix the tulip assembly to the head of a bone fixation device, and an outer member including at least one engagement surface configured to selectively fix a rod in the tulip assembly via rotation of the outer member, wherein the fixation of the tulip assembly to the head of the bone fixation device is independent of the fixation of a rod in the tulip assembly.
Abstract: A sliding window assembly includes two rectangular sash frames each enclosing an insulated glass panel unit and supported by a surrounding main support frame. At least one of the sash frames is supported for horizontal movement, and horizontally extending interlocking members are formed on the adjacent upper and lower horizontal frame members of the sash frame and main support frame. The interlocking members have interfitting horizontal hook portions positioned to permit each movable sash frame to move freely between a closed position and an open position. The interfitting hook portions are effective to engage and interlock each other in response to a substantial positive or negative windload or such a windload after an impact which breaks the glass panel unit, to limit deflection and prevent permanent deformation or release of the sash frame.
Abstract: A device for controlling the operating state of a system for the automatic starting/stopping of a heat engine of a vehicle. The invention is characterized in that the device comprises at least one operating state indicator (F1, F2) which is associated with an operating mode of the system and which can adopt a first position (B1, P1) in an operating mode inhibition state, a second position (B2, P2) in an operating mode activation state and a third position (B3, P3) in an operating mode intermediate state.
Abstract: The invention relates to an adapter for adapting a main bracket of a wiper blade to the coupling section of a wiper arm of a wiper mechanism. Said adapter comprises an insertion pin, which is held at one end and which is provided for being laterally inserted into a locating opening on the main bracket, whereby said locating opening extends transversal to the wiper blade longitudinal axis. The adapter also comprises a cylindrical cavity which is provided on the insertion pin, has an insertion opening and which serves to accommodate a pivot pin of the coupling section of the wiper arm. A first bearing section is provided in the area of the insertion opening and is provided for resting against the area of the coupling section that holds the pivot pin. The adapter has a second bearing section located on the side opposite the insertion opening and is provided for resting against the stop of a projection of the coupling section, whereby said projection overlaps, at least in sections, the adapter when mounted.
Abstract: The pedicle screw system may be used for fixation of spinal segments and may be advantageous when minimally invasive surgery (MIS) techniques are employed. The pedicle screw system includes a tulip assembly comprising of a tulip body, a inner member, and an expansion member. Installation of the pedicle screw system into pedicles of the spine, for example, includes inserting the pedicle screw into a portion of the spine and then coupling the tulip assembly to the pedicle screw. The tulip assembly may be locked onto the pedicle screw before a distraction rod is placed in the tulip assembly. After the rod is placed in the tulip assembly, the tulip body and the inner member can be rotated relative to one another to lock the rod into the tulip assembly. In addition, the relative rotation may also provide additional locking of the tulip assembly to the pedicle screw.
Abstract: The invention relates to a lighting and/or signalling device for a motor vehicle for lighting in a longitudinal emission direction. The lighting and/or signalling device has: at least one light source emitting light rays; and at least one light guiding sheet in which the light rays issuing from the light source spread by successive reflections, such that the guide sheet comprises at one end a reflective layer so as to redirect the light rays into the at least one sheet, and in that an output contour the sheet, at the end remote from the reflective layer, comprises a reflective profile, in particular inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of said sheet, so as to reflect the light rays reflected generally in an emission direction which is substantially parallel to said longitudinal axis.
Abstract: A support system for a motor within a fan shroud. Struts extending from the shroud to the motor support the motor. The struts are arranged in groups, which are spaced from adjacent groups, and each group contains a non-radial strut.
Abstract: This invention relates to a spinal fusion system and method for use as a prosthetic implant. The system and method includes a housing dimensioned to be situated between adjacent spinal bones, such as adjacent vertebrae. The housing cooperates with the spinal bones to define a graft area for receiving graft material, which may be inserted anteriorly into the housing during a surgical operation such as a vertebrectomy or discectomy. A housing may have various features such as migration preventers to prevent the housing from migrating posteriorly towards a spinal column during or after insertion of the housing; a plurality of projections or crossbars may be removably inserted into the housing and can be used with a cover that permits the housing to “float” relative thereto.
Abstract: A motor vehicle window panel has a trim molding formed by an extruded body of plastics material, and the body includes a mounting flange, a locating flange and a vehicle body panel sealing flange. The mounting flange carries a pressure sensitive contact adhesive tape which bonds to an inner surface of the window panel after the locating flange engages an outer edge surface of the window panel. The body is preferably extruded with a weakened zone at the base of the locating flange to permit convenient tear removal of the locating flange either before or after the molding and window panel are attached to the vehicle body panel. The sealing flange may be extruded with a lower durometer material, and an internal reinforcement strip and a spacer flange may be extruded with the mounting flange. The locating flange may be curved or flat with a projecting lip to facilitate removal.
Abstract: A dual sighting optical sight is provided. The sight provides non-inverted images through a rear window and at least one side window so that a user may view a target from either a rear or a side, respectively, of the weapon to which the sight is mounted. The sight is adjustable to a plurality of different positions so that the user can use the sight and weapon from other than directly behind the sight weapon.
