  • Patent number: 7827734
Abstract: A window assembly includes a main outer support frame supporting at least one movable rectangular sash frame enclosing an insulated glass panel. The sash frame is supported for vertical or horizontal movement between open and closed positions, and an interlocking system is effective to lock adjacent overlapping sash frame members. The interlocking system includes an angular metal clip member mounted on one sash frame member and having a flange projecting into a slot within the adjacent sash frame member. A pair of clip members are located under the tilt latches on single and double hung window assemblies and are secured to a vertical sash frame member on a horizontal sliding window assembly. The interlocking system responds to a substantial positive or negative wind load or such a wind load after an impact which breaks a glass panel, to limit deflection and prevent permanent deformation or release of the movable sash frame.

  • Patent number: 7819275
Abstract: A drawn aluminum can shell has a peripheral crown which is double-seamed with an end portion of an aluminum can body to provide a can end having a generally flat center panel connected by an inclined curved or straight panel wall to an inclined inner wall of an annular U-shaped countersink. The countersink has an outer wall which connects with an inclined lower wall portion of a chuckwall at a junction below the center panel, and the chuckwall has a curved or inclined upper wall portion which connects with an inner wall of the crown. The chuckwall also has an intermediate wall portion forming a break, and the inner bottom width of the countersink is less than the radial width of the panel wall. The inclined upper wall portion of the chuckwall extends at an angle greater than the angle of the inclined lower wall portion of the chuckwall.

  • Patent number: 7811158
Abstract: A system and method is shown for processing animals, such as calves, from birth to slaughter by utilizing hot-fed rations during the feeding process. The system and method reduces or eliminates the need to use hormones and simultaneously reduces or eliminates the need to sterilize the meat products. Each calf or animal is weaned at a weaning station, fed at a feeding station, slaughtered at a slaughter station to provide a carcass that is substantially the same size as other carcasses for the same breed of animal processed in the system. The consistent carcass size enables manufacture of consistent carcasses which, in turn, facilitates providing substantially the same size meat cuts. This feature enables use of a standard-size packaging, such as a case-ready package, which may be shipped for display and purchase at a store.

  • Patent number: 7791003
Abstract: An insulated bag has generally flat top and bottom walls connected by foldable back and opposite side walls which cooperate to define a chamber having a front opening for receiving a food product. Flexible closure flaps extend from the bottom wall and opposite side walls and have releasable fasteners for closing the front opening. Each wall has an outer fabric covering and a porous inner liner and also inner and outer layers of flexible thermal insulation material. A vapor barrier film separates the inner and outer layers of insulation material in each wall and provides for moisture absorption by the inner layers. The top and bottom walls each have a compartment with an edge opening closed by a releasable fastener, and a vacuum insulation panel is confined within each compartment. The top and bottom walls move between a collapsed storage position and an expanded position to receive the product.

  • Patent number: 7784985
Abstract: A dual function headlamp for motor vehicle fulfilling a first function as a beam with cut-off, in particular a dipped beam, and a second function as a second-type beam, in particular a full beam, comprising: an elliptical reflector with an interior focal point and an focal point on an optical axis; a light source placed in the vicinity of the interior focal point; an optics placed forward of the reflector and with a focal point merged with, or next to, the exterior focal point of the reflector; and a retractable shade that can occupy an active position for the beam with cut-off and a withdrawn position for the second-type beam, the shade in active position presenting a cut-off edge situated in the vicinity of the focal point of the optics. The retractable shade presents a reflective surface which, in withdrawn position, is placed in the lower part of the reflector, is turned forward and contributes to the second-type beam.

  • Patent number: 7779574
Abstract: A mole trap includes a steel rod frame having parallel spaced legs adapted to penetrate the ground on opposite sides of a mole hill or tunnel. The legs are integrally connected by a handle portion and also by a stop bar, and a spike plate having depending spikes is preloaded against the stop bar by compression springs mounted on the legs. An L-shaped latch lever is pivotally supported by the stop bar and supports a trip plate adapted to contact the ground where the mole tunnel has been depressed. The spike plate and spikes are retracted upwardly against the springs to a set position by pulling a flexible strap extending from the handle portion around a roller supported by the spike plate for rotation on an eccentric axis to provide a mechanical advantage. A roller on the latch lever automatically blocks the spike plate when elevated to the set position.
