Abstract: An apparatus for cutting strips or wafers of wood into contoured pieces for forming an inlay of a desired pattern in a groove of a decorative wooden article, the apparatus comprising a base plate having a work surface with a trough extending thereon; a cutting arm pivotally secured at a first end thereof to the work surface and having an operating handle at a second end thereof, and a member holding a cutting blade on the cutting arm intermediate the handle and the first end, whereby the blade may be raised and lowered by the handle to extend at an angle to and across the trough to effect a cutting operation on strips or wafers of wood placed in the trough in a cutting zone; and first and second fixed stop members disposed in the trough on opposite sides of the cutting arm at predetermined distances from the cutting zone so that a strip or wafer of wood may be placed thereagainst with a portion extending to the cutting zone for an initial cut; and wherein the blade has a multi-planar cutting surface to facili
Abstract: A device is disclosed for use in cutting specific lengths from the end of a shaft, specifically the shaft of a golf club. It includes a base that allows the user to affix the device to a table or support surface and a support block that can be rotated in relation to the table where the axis of rotation is parallel to and fixed in relation to the table. The support block has a calibrated stop rod, a handle to facilitate the rotation, a shaft or workpiece cradle, and a cutting slot that extends through the cradle in the support block. The calibrated stop rod is held in the desired position by a threaded rod being turned and thus urged against it when the desired cutting length is indicated by calibrating marks or indicia thereon. The shaft is then placed in the cradle and the device is rotated such that a cutting blade moves through the cutting slot, severing the shaft at the desired point.
Abstract: A utility cargo carrier attachment fits to the rear of an existing vehicle such as a van. The carrier extends across the entire vehicle width from the rear bumper up to the vehicle roof line. A unique mounting arrangement uses existing rear access doors and existing tow bar structure to rigidly but detachably mount the carrier to the van. The carrier is completely enclosed for cargo protection and is accessible with hinged doors. The interior of the carrier is equipped with shelves to improve space utilization. The entire structure is out of the air stream of the vehicle thus providing excellent fuel efficiency. The weight of the cargo is supported by existing tow bar structure and lateral rigidity is provided by serpentine tee members inserted into existing hinged door cracks. The tees are frictionally engaged in the cracks by the tightening of a securement bolt against a protective resilient pad facing the van exterior.
Abstract: A non-mingling multicoloring pen comprising a barrel, ink reserooirs, a combined tip comprising a nib guard tube, two or more elastic nibs with ink tight surfaces fixed separatedly from each other in the nib guard tube by means of a nib position fixing means with the front ends of all nibs sticking out of the front end of the said nib guard tube, and the rear ends of the nibs being inserted into the front ends of the said ink reservoirs, a movable nib holder with a conical bore being mounted axially movably on the front end of the nib guard tube, and sheathing the front ends of the nibs. When the ink pen is in use, the nib holder forces the nibs to close up with each other to give various single color or mixed color lines, when the ink pen is not in use, the nibs of the ink pen can be released loose to restore its original separated state, thereby the color mingling is prevented.
Abstract: A tape player includes a changeover mechanism for shifting the position of a tape travel direction changeover member in response to the reciprocating movement of a rewind pushbutton actuator, a head channel selector switch connected to the changeover mechanism via a resilient connecting mechanism and shiftable in response to the shifting operation of the changeover mechanism, silence detecting for detecting a blank interval between recordings on a magnetic tape and producing a silence interval detection signal upon detection of the blank interval, a latch mechanism for releasably holding the rewind pushbutton actuator in its advanced position, the latch mechanism being responsive to the silence interval detection signal for releasing the rewind pushbutton actuator, and blocking member for blocking the shifting operation of the head channel selector switch during the forward movement of the rewind pushbutton actuator.
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a pruning saw which comprises: a saw blade (1); a grip sheath (3) having a blade guide hole (2) extending therethrough in the longitudinal direction thereof for guiding the saw blade (1) slidably; and a handle (4) positioned at the back of the grip sheath (3) and extending from the saw blade (1), the saw blade (1) being so inserted into the blade guide hole (2) that it can be pushed and pulled therein. Further comprised is an object holder (6) which is disposed at a suitable spacing from and generally in a position opposed to the saw blade (1) for holding an object (7) between itself and the saw blade (1) when in the pruning operation.
Abstract: An anti-dazzling device relating to eye protection for drivers driving at night comprises a fixing means, a shield, and an adapter means, in which the fixing means can be fixed adjustably in tightness to the head of a user, the adapter means extends forward from the fixing means, the shield is connected to the fixing means through the adapter means and is put at the left front or right front side of the user's eyes with its one end away from the user's eyes inclining to the centerline. The shield is made of transparent color material, which not only shields the intense dazzle emitting obliquely from head-on approaching cars but also does not hamper the normal sight of the users. Said device further comprises a front shield. The present invention is simple in structure, convenient for use and very low in cost.
