  • Patent number: 5177473
Abstract: A foot operated electrical control is disclosed with simulated aircraft rudder pedals coupled to potentiometers for providing signals to a microcomputer having a flight simulation program. The pedals are additionally linked to one another by slides and a rocker arm for simultaneous pedal travel in opposite directions. The potentiometers may provide cumulative signals determined by pedal displacement or distinct signals when functioning independently of one another. For this latter purpose a carrier block for the rocker arm is positionable out of engagement with the foot pedals. Opposed springs of the control serve to position the pedals in an upright static position. Each pedal is coupled to a potentiometer by spring and pedal biased slides with one of the slides in wiping contact with the pedal.

  • Patent number: 5170854
Abstract: A T-shaped seal is disclosed for installation in the gap between a scale pit wall and a scale platform to prevent entry of foreign matter into the area below the platform. An upright stem of the seal is provided on its sides with vertically spaced ribs which may flex during installation between the scale pit wall and the platform edge. The ribs prevent upward dislodgement of the seal against all but intentional efforts and provide additional barriers to foreign material. The stem is of a flexible nature to accomodate irregular pit wall and scale surfaces. A ventilator is shown for installation within an opening formed in the flange portion of the seal and serves to permit the circulation of air beneath the platform while preventing the entry of material into the gap between the scale platform and pit wall.

  • Patent number: 5168631
Abstract: An archery bow sight is disclosed having a tubular member within which are plate members disposed in intersecting planes. Sight components are of transparent plastic having a fluorescent dye dispersed therein. The tubular member and plate member surface areas absorb light waves and conduct the waves to their respective edges to provide a brilliant reticle for use in low light conditions without reliance on artificial light sources. The mounting plate receives a base of the sight in an adjustable manner. Ultraviolet light waves are converted by the sight into visible light waves.

  • Patent number: 5158356
Abstract: The miniature light assembly disclosed includes a housing with parts defining a battery chamber and a guideway for slidably supporting a light such as a diode. A light bulb extends from the housing to permit positioning the light with the fingertips. Leads of the light straddle a disk shaped battery with one lead being isolated from battery terminal contact by a disk. A disk aperture permits entry upon positioning of the light in the housing and contact of an irregular segment of the lead with the battery terminal. Resilient pads urge the leads toward contact with the terminal surfaces of the battery. Semicircular portions of the housing confine the light for sliding movement.

  • Patent number: 5140910
Abstract: A dolly for pushing a vehicle through a car wash and including an inclined arm having a leading end located below a track of the car wash and attached to a continuous conveyor chain. A track engaging pair of rollers is carried below the track by the leading end of the arm while a trailing pair of rollers is supported by the track. An elevated pair of rollers engage an auto wheel for pushing of the auto while simultaneously contacting the track supported trailing pair of rollers. Loads imparted to the tire engaging rollers are accordingly transferred to the track with a reduction in loads imparted to roller axles. A floating mounting arrangement for the tire engaging rollers maintains roller engagement regardless of roller wear.

  • Patent number: 5123167
Abstract: A sheath knife handle includes an arm member offset from the main portion of the handle and attached to the handle by a flexible segment to permit arm member displacement by pressing with a finger. The arm member includes a latch component which upon inward arm member movement disengages a knife sheath to permit removal of the knife. The knife handle may be equipped with dual arm members to provide a double locking arrangement operable by a gripping action of the thumb and index finger. The arm member additionally defines a recess in which is received the upper edge of the knife sheath.

  • Patent number: 5123312
Abstract: A lug wrench support for temporary placement on a wheel hub and including a sleeve having appendages on the sleeve outer wall defining wrench receiving grooves. A first internal wall surface of the sleeve is of diameter to receive and frictionally engage a wheel hub while a second internal wall surface of the sleeve is of a lesser diameter and frictionally engages a wheel hub of lesser size than the first mentioned wheel hub. The wrench receiving grooves support that portion of a lug wrench adjacent the socket end of the wrench during rotation of wheel lug nuts. An eye of each appendage serves to retain the lug wrench in the appendage groove.
