  • Patent number: 5533288
Abstract: A greeting card picture frame which allows a picture to be easily and quickly mounted. The greeting card picture frame is a unitary integral construction of a decorative border having a filler or block providing a mounting surface for receiving a picture. Double-sided adhesive tape, on the center of the mounting surface, allows a picture to be easily and quickly positioned and secured by pressing it down on the adhesive surface of the tape. A matteboard is then applied that has double-sided adhesive tape securing the picture in the frame. A flat backing having a folding portion approximately equal to the width of the frame provides a self-contained stand or easel. A corner of the folding part is creased to provide a base for displaying the frame and picture on a desk or table top. A mounting hole is also provided in the frame for mounting the picture on a wall and for storing an included push-pin for hanging.

  • Patent number: 5522508
Abstract: A game carrying and storage system is provided for enclosing, carrying, and maintaining games in an organized manner. A carrying case has a ring binder mounted within the case for retaining multiple game pages. The game pages hold all the pieces of a particular game. The game pages are removable from the carrying case permitting an individual to substitute different games within the system. The game pages additionally have a closure and securing means for keeping the pages closed and secured prohibiting the game pieces from spilling out.

  • Patent number: 5519754
Abstract: A videofluoroscopy device having a vertical housing and a c-arm supporting an x-ray device is provided. The vertical housing encloses a first channel wherein a center screw is mounted. The center screw engages a mounting block having a threaded aperture formed therein, the mounting block being attached to the c-arm. A motor engaging the center screw turns the center screw in reversible directions thereby causing the center screw to communicate with the c-arm and moving the c-arm along a longitudinal axis to record a real time video x-ray image of a patient. A video monitor and video tape recorder are connected to the x-ray device by a video cable.

  • Patent number: 5505652
Abstract: A motorized mechanical doll for positioning within miniaturized vehicles capable of actuating body portions separate from any mechanical workings of the vehicle. The doll has a plurality of gears for engaging one another for turning a rotating head from side to side. There is a rotation means comprising a set of three magnets having the same polarity. The magnets are mounted to one of the gears and to a rotatable shaft for repelling one another and rotating the rotatable shaft which in turn communicates with the head portion. An alternate embodiment further includes a pivoting hand portion wherein a first end of a lever attaches to the pivoting hand and at a second end attaches to one of the gears slightly off-set from a center portion of the gear. Rotation of the gear causes the lever to move actuating the pivoting hand up and down.

  • Patent number: 5497425
Abstract: A passive multi channel surround sound simulation device has a pair of input jacks for receiving a two channel stereophonic signal having a speaker level. An electronic circuit produces from the two channel signal left and right primary speaker level outputs, left and right secondary speaker level outputs, a mono center line level output, left and right secondary line level outputs, and a surround ground separate from an input ground. First, second and third voltage dividers reduce the stereophonic signal speaker level to a line level of about 10% of that which appears at the left and right primary speaker level outputs, for directing to the mono line level output, and the left and right secondary line level outputs respectively. The left and right primary speaker level outputs are connected to left and right front speakers respectively. The left and right secondary speaker level outputs are connected to left and right rear speakers respectively.

  • Patent number: 5473291
Abstract: A solid state automatic tuner is used in a plasma processing system for measuring and adjusting a voltage standing wave ratio of the system. The tuner has a switched variable inductor circuit controlled by an automatic control system coupled to an impedance matching circuit. The impedance matching circuit provides an intermediate impedance and matches an output impedance of an RF generator to the varying impedance of a plasma chamber. A variable inductor of the switched variable inductor is constructed as a transformer and allows different values of inductance to be switched in and out of a secondary winding of the transformer. FET switches control pin diodes permitting the different values of inductance to be switched in and out in steps. A VSWR comparator of the control system continuously compares a desired VSWR set point for the system to the current VSWR of the system. A sequence scanner controls the FET switches.

  • Patent number: 5462517
Abstract: A cloth body having a central knee hole wrapped around a patient's knee to treat knee flexion contractures. Hook and loop straps secure the cloth body to the patient's knee. Longitudinally extending pockets on opposite sides of the knee hole contain a longitudinal support element and an air bladder. Inflation of the air bladder supports the patient's knee in a rigid position. Latitudinally extending pockets surrounding the posterior portion of the thigh and calf contain a flexible support element.

  • Patent number: 5459884
Abstract: A system for controlling and saving water to be used with a toilet flushing apparatus permitting adjustable partial flush and full flush capabilities. A control housing having a pin inserted therethrough has a pointed tip portion entering an aperture formed in a bottom end of the control housing providing an adjustable needle valve. The effective size of the needle valve determines the rate at which water expels from the housing. A flexible tube attached to the control housing leads to a cavity in a flapper valve. The flapper valve covers a drainage port in a holding tank of a toilet when the toilet is unflushed. When the toilet is flushed, air is drawn from the cavity of the flapper into an inner chamber of the control housing as water leaves the control housing, thereby causing the flapper to change from a positive to a negative buoyancy state. The flapper can therefore be reseated upon the port before all the water has left the holding tank.
