  • Patent number: 4867665
Abstract: A plastic material molding apparatus, wherein when the pressure at a material inlet of a cylinder of a material holding mechanism increases as a piston in the cylinder compresses a resilient member provided in the material holding mechanism, the speed of a motor for driving a material fluidizing mechanism is reduced. A servo motor for intermittently driving a plastic material metering and delivering mechanism is controlled according to the revolution speed and a predetermined total number of revolutions of the servo motor and to the number of pulses from a pulse generator provided in the servo motor. A relief valve is interposed between a material delivery port and a delivery nozzle of the metering and delivering mechanism, the relief valve being adapted to open when the material pressure at the delivery port is higher than the relief pressure, the relief pressure being set higher than the vapor pressure according to the temperature of the material at the delivery port.

  • Patent number: 4865280
Abstract: A one-piece molded plastic wire retainer clip, comprising first and second sections joined by a flexible hinge, is provided for supporting flexible, axially shiftable insulated electric wires on an automobile steering column. The first section comprises a first base member having a pair of upwardly projecting resilient bifurcated legs defining a slot having an opening for receiving wires laterally inserted thereinto. A hollow expandable fastener projects downwardly from the first base member for insertion into a mounting hole in the steering column. The second section comprises a second base member having a closure plate supported thereon which has an aperture for receiving the free ends of the legs. When the first section is swung from unlatched to latched position, the closure plate blocks the slot opening and secures the wires in the slot. First latches on the two base members and second latches on the legs and closure plate maintain the closure plate in blocking position.

  • Patent number: 4860832
Abstract: A receptacle comprises a plurality of juxtaposed tanks interconnected adjacent upper portions thereof in liquid communication with each other by eyelets defining liquid transmitting passages. Each of the tanks has an open top closed by a funnel shaped cover having a central opening for admitting burning liquid fuel. Spheres are suspended from the covers to normally seal the liquid transmitting passages with the spheres each having a density which will permit them to float on the liquid fuel when it rises to the level of the passage to thereby open the passage.

  • Patent number: 4856187
Abstract: A wire feed mechanism alternately feeds a pair of parallel wire strands A and B through spaced-apart turret jaws on a rotatable turret, through a cutter-stripper head, through a wire gathering device and through spaced-apart conveyor clamps in a conveyor. When a desired length of first wire strand A is fed, a first conveyor clamp closes on strand A and the cutter-stripper head severes a wire segment 12A from strand A and strips the newly-severed ends of strand A and wire segment 12A. The turret then rotates 90.degree. in one direction to present the stripped end of strand A to a first terminating machine which attaches a terminal thereto. While termination of strand A occurs, a desired length of the other strand B is fed through the cutter-stripper head and wire gathering device and through a second conveyor clamp, whereupon the latter clamp closes on strand B and the cutter-stripper head severs a wire segment 12B from strand B and strips the severed ends of strand B and wire segment 12B.

  • Patent number: 4854058
Abstract: Dredging apparatus including a diver-operator controlled and hand-held dredge head which permits the diver to move about freely in the water bed being dredged, and provides for continuously dredging the mixture of water and solids from a first body of water and pumping the mixture to a second solids collecting body of water. Submersible, hydraulic dredge pumps are used in the bodies of water. The conveying water is continuously reused in a quasi-closed system by being returned to the immediate vicinity of the nozzle or alternatively being returned through a sleeve concentrically mounted around the nozzle. The returned water discharges downwardly to counterbalance the weight of the operator-held dredge. The second, solids collecting area may take the form of a truck body into which the solid material is dumped and the dredge water passes through into a filter tank from which it is pumped and returned to the dredge area for reuse in transporting additional solids.

  • Patent number: 4850427
Abstract: An overheating and scaling control device for a fluid heating apparatus, such as a domestic water heater, removes the hot fluid in the heater when demand ceases. A piston (46) mobile within a case (28) separates the latter into two compartments (32, 36) respectively connected to the cold water supply pipe (16) and to the hot water discharge pipe (22). In operation, the pressure in pipe (16) is higher than the pressure in pipe (22) and piston (46) is moved to the left. On stopping, the pressures are equal in both pipes and spring (40) moves piston (46) to the right. Cold water is fed into the exchanger tube (20), so that the hot water contained in the latter is discharged into pipe (38) and compartment (36).

  • Patent number: 4849829
Abstract: An image recording apparatus wherein image information is developed by converting the image information into an optical signal and by writing the image information on a drum-shaped image retainer with the converted optical signal to provide latent images and by developing the latent images, which are then recorded. A first writing timing is set in a first writing direction with respect to the image retainer and a second writing timing is set in a second writing direction with respect to the image retainer and the number of rotations with respect to the image retainer is calculated in accordance with the settings of the writing timings. The image information is overwritten by a number of times corresponding to the number of rotations to provide a plurality of images which may be entirely or partially or not superposed on one another.

  • Patent number: 4842237
Abstract: A one-piece wire retainer clip comprises a first tube axially slidable onto and frictionally engageable with a threaded stud on a structure. A pair of resiliently movable spaced-apart legs are connectd to the first tube and define a wire-receiving slot having an opening on one side through which wires are laterally insertable into the slot. A second tube is axially aligned with and slidable manually onto the first tube. A slot closure plate is connected to and movable with the second tube. Releasably interengageable latches are provided on the legs and on the slot closure plate. A frangible web connected between the tubes initially maintains the second tube in an open position wherein the closure plate is spaced from the slot opening.
