Abstract: First, at step S1, i=0 is set. At step S2, data comprising M samples is fetched. At step S3, an M-point DFT is applied to the data fetched at step S2 above. At step S4, an obtained y(k) is multiplied by a twist coefficient w(i, k). The result is placed in y(k). At step S5, the value in y(k) is overwritten to an array x which contains original data. The above processing is repeated N/M times through steps S6 and S7 until all the input data is processed. At step S9, an FFT with N/M (=2n) points is performed within the range of 0?k<M. Finally, at step S12, a sort is performed.

Abstract: An optical recording medium having plural recording layers includes a first recording layer on which first data is to be recorded and a second recording layer on which second data is to be recorded. The first and second recording layers are layered, with the second data being recorded at a location in the second recording layer in the vicinity of a location in the first recording layer where the first data relevant to the second data is recorded. Replay signals of variable configurations can be obtained by suitably synthesizing data read out from the respective recording layers.

Abstract: Additional information for copyright protection is added to a video signal (first information signal) and an audio signal (second information signal), which are associated with each other and are independently usable, in a video watermark information superimposition unit and an audio watermark information superimposition unit, respectively. The video signal and the audio signal having the additional information added are then output. In a receiving apparatus for receiving the video signal and the audio signal, copyright protection is performed on at least one of the video signal and the audio signal based on both the additional information added to the video signal and the additional information added to the audio signal.
Abstract: A vehicle driver inputs an alarm signal from an operating unit. A control unit adds a current position of the vehicle detected by a navigation unit to the alarm signal and transmits the alarm signal with the current position from a transmitting and receiving unit to another vehicle. The transmitting and receiving unit receives a signal from another vehicle and supplies the signal to the control unit. The control unit calculates an intervehicular distance from current position data of the other vehicle included in the received signal and current position data of its own vehicle and outputs the alarm signal from speakers only when the intervehicular distance is within a predetermined value.

Abstract: A reduction is made in signal distortion that occurs in an output signal of a PWM switching power amplifier due to noise disturbances from a switching power supply. In a switching power amplifier that has a switching power supply unit, a clock signal for controlling the switching of the switching power supply unit is generated based on a clock signal that is used to synchronize switching operations. The clock signal has a clock period that is an integer multiple of a period t of the clock signal and matches a timing at which a signal level of a PWM power signal that is generated by the switching power amplifier is at ground level. The switching of the switching power supply unit is synchronized using the clock signal.

Abstract: A complex resonance type switching converter provided with a self-excited voltage resonance type converter has a conduction controlling device Q2 connected in series with a control winding Nc of a drive transformer CDT in which a detecting winding NA, a driving winding NB of a self-oscillation driving circuit, and the control winding Nc are wound on an identical core. An amount of current conducted in the conduction controlling device Q2 is varied, whereby a level of a base current flowing from the self-oscillation driving circuit to a base of a switching device Q1 is changed and switching frequency of the switching device Q1 is variably controlled. Thereby a conduction angle and the switching frequency of the switching device are changed simultaneously, and consequently constant-voltage control is effected on a direct-current output on the secondary side of the converter. Use of such a drive transformer CDT makes it possible to prevent variations of the self-oscillation driving circuit and reduce size.
