    Abstract: A lighting system and components are described for a lighting assembly, including a socket having a socket body and an electrical connector with a seal in the socket to seal around a light source. The socket is preferably configured to be independent of the mounting arrangement for the lighting assembly. An insulator is also disclosed for a lamp such as a fluorescent lamp having a body which protects the contact on the lamp so as to form a recessed lamp conductor. The combination of a socket and lamp insulator is also disclosed for providing a socket and insulator assembly for reducing the possibility of injury or damage due to high open circuit voltage, environmental effects and the like. Additionally, a lighting assembly is disclosed incorporating the insulator, socket and mounting arrangements.

    Abstract: A yarn palette is disclosed having a flexible panel with numerous cord locks attached at one end of the panel and extending downwardly therefrom. Each cord lock includes a loop that is adjustable to support any number of skeins provided therein. The yarn palette is used to organize and store a variety of yarns, wherein each cord lock is provided with a particular shade of yarn. The flexible panel can be rolled up into a compact state to facilitate carrying and storage. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the inside surface of the panel is black to facilitate visual differentiation of similar yarn shades. The panel can also be provided with compartments and pockets for storing notions, tools, specialty yarns or other items.

    Abstract: A foldable wheelchair ramp is disclosed having a mountable base, a first ramp section and a second ramp section. In an extended configuration, the first and second ramp sections form a single, continuous ramp for facilitating wheelchair access to vehicles. For convenient storage, the first and second ramp sections fold with respect to each other and preferably retract into the vehicle floor such that, in the folded configuration, the top surface of the second ramp section lies substantially in the same plane as the vehicle floor. A linking assembly is provided to facilitate and control the folding of the ramp sections. For safety purposes, the ramp also includes a lid that covers the gaps between the ramp and the vehicle floor when the ramp is in an extended position.

Another material phase is preferably formed from a material having a degree of ductility that is higher than that of the first material phase. Example second material phase materials include those selected from the group consisting of cermets, Co, Ni, Fe, W, Mo, Cu, Al, Nb, Ti, Ta, and mixtures thereof.
