Abstract: An assembly which incorporates a hand-held instrument or device collectively structured to alleviate pain during minor surgical application wherein the operating instrument and/or the surgical site are concurrently cooled to a substantially reduced temperature. The surgical site is gently blanketed with cold, dry sterilized air, gases or other atomized treatment fluid serving to effectively reduce the temperature of the tissue at the surgical site while at the same time preventing possible room air-borne contamination entering the treatment site based on the air or gas blanketing the treatment site being sterilized or otherwise medicinally treated.

Abstract: This invention relates to an elevator shaft structure in a building about an elevator to aid escape from the elevator upon a power failure; and it includes a structure defining an elevator shaft for an elevator cab which provides a rear shaft wall with a stairway extending outwardly from the rear wall for travel between the floors and, in the elevator cab, a rear door is provided for escape from the elevator onto the emergency stairway.

Abstract: A snake which can be power driven through a clutch or manually rotated with a crank. The coiled wire body terminates in a nose cylinder which has coils which are of a larger diameter, constant diameter, and expanded terminating in a cylinder snag tip cut-off co-extensive with the circumference of the expanded cylinder wire portions. A cap is provided over the sheath which surrounds the coiled wire at each end of the sheath, and having progressively smaller interior collar members terminating in a cap lip which permits the cap to snug-fittingly and progressively engage the end of the sheath, and yet permit it to be removed after usage so that the interior of the sheath can be flushed and when desired, filled with lubricating oil or another preservative. The method of the invention is directed to the utilization of a coiling head which coils the wire in a small diameter and then increases the diameter to form the nose cylinder.

Abstract: A device preferably in the form of a T-square having an elongated body and a perpendicularly arranged head portion and further including a plurality of staggered, offset scales extending along the length of said body from the head portion towards a distal end thereof. A plurality of scale indicators equal in number to the number of scales are provided to slide along the length of the body in aligned indicating relation with one of said plurality of scales. The device is specifically structured to locate, dimension and mark the proper locations for the formations of score lines in a multi-sided conduit or duct formed from a planar sheet of duct board wherein the device may be preset and maintained for the successive marking of a plurality of said planar duct board sheets without cause to reset the device each time a separate duct board is marked.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a security system for a multi-unit facility such as a hotel wherein access to each unit or room is accomplished through a door structure or like closure which incorporates a separate locking assembly. The locking facility is of the keyless entry type wherein a preset code is fed into an electronically controlled lock through a plurality of finger operated switches (fingerboard) for authorized entry. Each of the actuating facilities associated with each closure is capable of having a stored preset code changed through operation of a microprocessor. Telephone lines interconnect the activating and locking facilities associated with each room to a central control facility, for example, in the office of a hotel.

Abstract: A coding assembly specifically designed to encode in a non-obtrusive manner, contained packages disposed on the interior of a shipping or storage carton through the utilization of strategically placed pairs of penetrating pins of sufficient length and sharpness to pass through the outer shipping carton and into the plurality of packages contained therein. Relative positions of the pins of a plurality of pin pairs will define the position of the puncture aperture in the respective packages and in turn define one of a plurality of predetermined codes. A clear material template is disposed in overlying relation to the puncture apertures for purposes of decoding.

Abstract: An ambulatory brace of the type designed to fit in at least partially enclosing relation about the lower leg and foot of a patient so as to maintain this area substantially immobilized. The subject brace is specifically designed to eliminate all force or pressure being applied to the heel area of the foot so as to allow consolidation or healing of the calcaneum region by maintaining this region substantially free of weight or force being exerted thereon. A support assembly is incorporated into the brace so as to transfer or direct axial load on the brace directly to the tarso-metatarsal region of the foot.

Abstract: An auxiliary mirror assembly of the type primarily designed to be mounted on the external casing of an existing rear view mirror located outboard or extending outwardly from the interior of an automobile or like vehicle. The auxiliary mirror comprises a base, connecting structure, mounting portion and mirror element all cooperatively structured and interconnected to one another such that the mirror element may be substantially universely positioned about a plurality of axes in at least three independent directions.

Abstract: A uniquely numbered identification tag for luggage having a split construction and including a base having removably supported thereon a plurality of individual tags wherein at least two of the tags are removably attached to different portions of the luggage piece and the third tag is removable from the supporting base and securable to a ticket envelope or positionable in a like location capable of being carried by the passenger or owner of the luggage. The two tags affixed to the luggage include a first indicia display coded so as to be mechanically read wherein the coded indicia is representative of a unique alpha-numeric designation for purposes of handling and identifying a given luggage piece during transport thereof.

Abstract: Surgical instrumentation in the form of a clamp assembly specifically structured to position and maintain sections of blood vessels, such as veins and arteries, such that open ends of such blood vessel sections are maintained in immediately adjacent relation to one another and properly exposed so that such ends may be sutured or otherwise secured together. The clamp assembly is structured such that the vessel sections to be attached are supported and engaged both interiorly and exteriorly to insure maintenance of the respective open ends of such sections in a substantially outwardly flared and exposed position for attachment to one another.

Abstract: A vertical blind assembly of the type capable of positioning a plurality of vertical blinds in depending relation along the length of a head casing and selectively and concurrently rotate each of said vertical blinds in a predetermined angular orientation about its own longitudinal axis wherein a holder for each vertical blind is removably supported by a carrier frame and further wherein a first gear and a second gear are removably mounted on the carrier frame so as to cause the aforementioned rotation and angular orientation of the vertical blinds. The assembly further comprises a plurality of connecting links removably attached to one another in an interlocking fashion so as to interconnect the various carrier frames along the length of the casing head. A first positioning pull-cord or like assembly is operable to extend the plurality of blinds along the length of the head casing or retract such plurality at one end thereof.

Abstract: A cutting assembly including a plurality of blade elements concurrently rotated throughout a circular cutting path about a substantially centrally disposed drive shaft and independently about a central, transverse axis of rotation of each of the plurality of cutting blades and including a planetary gear assembly serving to interconnect the plurality of cutting blades to a drive shaft and a secured driven drive arm for at least partially supporting and positioning the plurality of cutting blades.

Abstract: A flexible portable pad to serve as an ironing board for travelers and the like which is composed of a laminated structure including exteriorly disposed heat resistant sheets of material sandwiching therebetween a padding structure and wherein the laminated structure and padding are secured to one another by a peripherally disposed tape and peripheral stitching securing together the components of pad and wherein a hanger element is provided in the form of a loop extending outwardly from one of the edges. The pad, when not in use, is capable of being rolled upon itself after being folded in half and there is further provided a carrying bag with a mouth sized to receive the folded rolled pad therein. A closure means is provided about the mouth so that, once the pad is inserted into the bag, the device is adapted to be closed for convenient storage of the bag and portable pad within a suitcase or the like.

Abstract: An alarm system and assembly including one or more base elements specifically structured for positioning on the interior of a jewelery-type display case and including a circuit means having an extended conductor interconnected in series with an alarm assembly and power source and further interconnected with a plurality of tray elements mounted on an exposed display platform to the extent that movement or actual removal of any of the tray elements will cause a break in the circuitry through separation of first and second contact pairs associated with the conductor means which in turn causes an activation of the signal assembly so as to provide a warning to attendant or merchants in the vicinity of the display case. Further, the signal assembly will be activated upon relative movement and/or displacement of the plurality of base elements independent of any displacement of tray elements.

Abstract: An indicator element is movably mounted within a flow channel and is structured to travel along with and in the direction of the passage of irrigating fluid passing through the flow channel. A switching assembly is associated with the flow channel and an indicator assembly for activation of the latter wherein a predetermined position of the indicator element within the flow channel is indicative of the establishment of peristaltic action of the intestine being irrigated and of the intestine receiving adequate irrigating fluid to cause evacuation of the fecal matter contained therein. Activation of the indicator assembly informs the operator that sufficient fluid has entered the intestine to cause the peristaltic action and evacuation so that fluid flow from a fluid supply to the intestine may be stopped.
