  • Patent number: 4250731
Abstract: A method of producing trimming dies with a conical many-sided bore for use in a screw trimming press. A trimming die blank is produced with an outer diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of a cup-shaped holder and to a finished height and with a cylindrical inner bore. The many-sided bore is produced by cold deformation of the inner diameter by means of a many-sided punch introduced to a limited extent into the inner bore while preserving the outer diameter. Apparatus for carrying out the method includes a holder for the trimming die blank. A spacer ring located below the blank and resting on the base of the holder in use, a guide sleeve and a many-sided punch guidable by said guide sleeve and having a length exceeding that of the guide sleeve by an amount corresponding to a predetermined insertion depth of the punch in the blank. The base of the holder has an ejector bush with an ejector mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4246290
Abstract: A process and apparatus for manufacturing waffle blocks filled with cream are disclosed. Individual waffle sheets are moved on a feeder belt into contact with a coating device for coating on one side and are introduced subsequently into a stacking device where they are individually lifted by at least two oppositely mounted upright spiral feeders that grip the waffle sheets and guide them upwardly in succession against each other until a waffle block composed of a predetermined number of waffle sheets is completed. The completed waffle blocks are pushed by the spiral tracks on a run-off belt and discharged.

  • Patent number: 4241598
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for producing a cross-slotted die for forming cross-slotted screw heads. One end face of a cylindrical blank is turned to form a cone having a cone angle of between 124.degree. and 140.degree.. The cross shape is produced in this face by a single cold forming stage while preserving the outer diameter of the blank. The blank is held in a cylindrical holder having a bore with an internal diameter corresponding to the diameter of the cylindrical blank. An ejection mandrel engages in the bore to form the base of the holder. A platen carries a punch for insertion into the bore to deform the end face of the blank.

  • Patent number: 4229007
Abstract: The present invention relates to a rim for a mini-golfcourse for indoor as well as outdoor application. In order to permit indoor application with approximately the same variation of the play as a permanent outdoor course without occupying too large spaces and to permit construction of a simple but stable and strong design for indoor as well as outdoor application without showing the relatively vulnerable and weak structure of course sections of prior art, the rim according to the invention is characterized by a continuous profile element having at least two flange portions turned towards the course, between which are located partly the edge portion of at least one plate forming a play ground, and partly at least one rim element forming the side of a play ground, the edge portion of the plate forming the play ground, and the rim element forming the side of the play ground filling up the space between said flange portions.

  • Patent number: 4218159
Abstract: The body of a gear hob consists of a plurality of adjacent disc-shaped segments. A helix of successive cutting teeth extends around the body and is formed by the adjoining peripheries of the segments. First and second metal cutter plates are replaceably mounted on the teeth flanks. The first cutter plate is mounted at the top of a respective tooth flank and the second cutter plate is mounted on the opposite flank. The first and second cutters alternate along the helix at each side of the teeth and their cutting paths overlap.

  • Patent number: 4217950
Abstract: Continuous casting apparatus includes opposing sets of rollers defining a guide path for a cast section emanating from a mould outlet. A key-piece is keyed to the leading end of the cast section at the mould outlet in a conventional manner. A detachment member is mounted at the end of the guide path for entrainment by the key-piece. The entrained detachment member is constrained to move in a path which has a component directed transversely of the feed direction of the cast section. In this way a releasing force is applied to the key-piece by the feed movement of the cast section.

  • Patent number: 4209403
Abstract: Magnetic filter apparatus includes a liquid container, an inlet for liquid contaminated by magnetizable material, an outlet for purified liquid and a wall of magnetic bars disposed between the inlet and the outlet and having gaps therebetween for the passage of liquid. The magnetic bars are carried by an endless conveyor. An improved cleaning device is provided for cleaning the magnetic bars above the level of the liquid outlet. The improved cleaning device has wiper blades engageable with the magnetic bars. The wiper blades are mounted on endless conveyors arranged one to each side of the wall of magnetic bars. These endless conveyors are inclined obliquely across the wall of magnetic bars. This disposition of the conveyors permits a continuous or nearly continuous operation of the apparatus by adjustment of the wiper blade conveyors such that their speed component in the direction of travel of the wall of magnetic bars is the same as the speed of travel of the conveyor carrying the wall of magnetic bars.

  • Patent number: 4204449
Abstract: Flying cropping shears for hot strip for two horizontally spaced pairs of cutters. The cutters are driven by parallel crank drives through connecting members which maintain parallelism of the cutters. Means are provided for selectively bringing the pairs of cutters into and out of the cutting position. In this way only one pair of cutters is operative during rotation of the crank drives so as to crop either the front or the rear end of the hot strip.

  • Patent number: 4202416
Abstract: Method for sinking a cased borehole for producing cased pile foundations. The method uses an apparatus comprising a crane, a drilling appliance capable of being lowered into the borehole and a tube extraction machine with double-acting lifting cylinders for increasing the drilling pressure and for extracting the drop tube after the pile has been concreted. The drilling appliance is capable of producing a borehole with a larger diameter than that of the drop tube and can be fixed to the drop tube by means of a clamping device for withstanding the torque of the motor used for driving the drilling tool. In the method, the drop tube is axially secured and is prevented from locating with respect to the ground, a section of borehole having a greater diameter than the diameter of the drop tube is drilled, and subsequently the axial securement of the drop tube is released so that the drop tube slides downwards by a length corresponding to the length of the section of borehole drilled.

  • Patent number: 4195050
Abstract: Method for making a filter which comprises a plurality of closely juxtaposed tubes made of a filter material and packed tightly in a tubular envelope. Both ends of the tubes are initially closed. The envelope with the tubes is then dipped to a small depth into a hardenable substance, e.g. latex, which fills the gaps between the tubes and on hardening forms a solid bottom on the envelope. A small length of the envelope and tubes is then severed to open one end of the tubes.
