Abstract: An entry roller way for conveying rolled rods and bars in particular flat or profiled rods and bars to a cooling bed has a transverse conveyor apparatus laterally connected thereto, which comprises a laterally displaceable intermediate slide member disposed between a transfer guide member and a stacking channel located adjacent the cooling bed and provided with a vertically displaceable bottom plate. The intermediate slide member is laterally displaceable in the slide plane and is provided with two comb-like edges which correspond to the comb-like edges of the adjacent transfer guide slide and the bottom plate of the stacking groove respectively; the intermediate slide member can be displaced close to the flat rods stacked on the bottom plate without interfering with the removal therefrom.

Abstract: A wire rod rolling mill has a plurality of rolling stands with individual drive shafts connected to at least one main drive shaft through respective couplings which are selectively disengagable to interrupt the drive of the corresponding roll stand. The coupling means consist of meshing bevel gears on the main drive shaft and the respective roll stand drive shaft, and a slidable member rotationally fast with one of these shafts and slidable into and out of driving engagement with the corresponding bevel gear which is rotatable relative to the shaft. Alternatively, a similar coupling arrangement may be provided between two sections of the roll stand drive shaft, these sections being interconnected by spur gears. The sets of bevel gears between the main drive shaft and the rolling stand drive shafts are equal in their transmission ratios and the speed variation in the respective roll stands is achieved by spur gearing in the rolling stand drive shafts.

Abstract: An apparatus for lubricating a chain saw mounted on the guide rail of a guide bar comprises a lubrication system for feeding a lubricant through a conduit in the guide bar to the saw chain while the guide bar is in the operating down position and the lubricant flow is interrupted when the guide bar is moved into the non-operating up position of the saw chain. The lubrication system provides a saving of lubricant by feeding it to the chain only during the working process and only to its essential working parts.

Abstract: A sole pattern for shoe soles of elastic yielding material comprises projections whose cross-section decreases in a direction at right angles away from the sole. The projections are associated as projection couples in such a way that the tread surface of one projection is sloped inwardly toward the sole and the tread surface of the other projection is also sloped inwardly toward the sole, while the component of the inclination on a level of the sole is oppositely directed.

Abstract: A device for suspending objects comprising a stationary stand with a straight inner passage which curves outwardly at one end. An elongate support member is received in the passage and consists of a series of vertebra-like elements fixed at one side to a flexible blade in a closely adjacent series arrangement to prevent bending of the support member in a downward direction. The vertebra elements have each a projecting flange on a side perpendicular to the flexible blade and a corresponding recess on the opposite side, the flange of one element engaging the recess of the adjacent element to prevent lateral displacement.

Abstract: A nursing bottle consisting of a cylindrical tube of transparent material has slightly enlarged end portions on which a suction nipple is secured at one enlarged end by means of a threaded cap and a one-way valve is secured by means of a similar cap at the other end. A slidable piston is designed and arranged inside the tube so as to move toward the nipple end of the bottle as the liquid in the bottle decreases.

Abstract: An endless conveyor is mounted above a supporting frame on which are disposed an initial station, a final station, and one or more intermediate treatment stations for bathing a patient. A plurality of spaced carriages depend from the endless conveyor above the stations, and horizontally disposed carrier plates are detachably connected at their head ends to the lower portion of said carriages to project generally normal from the conveyor. The carrier plates are moved to and from the carriages on a wheeled vehicle, and support patients lying in a prone position. The conveyor is operable by a control system that indexes the carrier plates through the various stations in a selected sequence, for bathing a patient in a desired manner.

Abstract: A gripping device for lifting and depositing slabs which are disposed on one edge thereof in an upright position is mounted in a mobile crane which is displaceable across a plurality of such slabs and comprises a row of support rods which are vertically displaceable in unison and each of which is provided at its lower end with a support member which is selectively rotatable into a position in which, when the rods are lowered into a position adjacent one side of a slab, the support member engages under the lower edge of the slab, and into another position in which it is disengaged from the said edge; furthermore a gravity operated holder member is provided which comes into engagement with the upper edge of the slab while the support rods are being lowered, and secures the slab against tilting during lifting and conveyance thereof.

Abstract: A bridge composed of individual sections is assembled by means of an assembling unit whose support elements comprise two lateral beams, preferably lattice girders. The assembling unit includes a main cross beam which is bolted to the end of one of two adjoining bridge sections and is connected to the end of the next adjoining bridge section by a hinge means having a substantially horizontal axis. Each end of the main cross beam is mounted on a substantially vertical supporting leg.

Abstract: A lottery-ticket assembly is disclosed in which lottery tickets are arranged in an upstanding position to project upwardly from a container. Upstanding lottery-ticket strips are anchored in the container and are stacked in side-by-side relation and relatively spaced by spacer strips. Each ticket strip has a plurality of tongues projecting upwardly from the container and tear-off lines in the base portion of the ticket strip to separate from the base portion a pulling portion of each tongue, the pulling portion being provided with a lottery-ticket designation.

Abstract: A supporting table for a recumbent patient has a table plate provided at least along the side edges, and preferably also at the head and foot edges, with a gate member which is pivotally mounted so that it can be fixed in an up position. In this position the gate members not only keep a patient from rolling off the table but they cooperate with a mattress on the table to form a trough in which water may be retained for bathing the patient. The mattress has an outlet for discharging the water after bathing. In the down position of the gate members the mattress edges are also folded downwardly.

Abstract: An apparatus for transporting disabled persons comprises a travelling chassis provided with a lifting gear and at least one carrier unit mounted on the lifting gear. Each carrier unit includes two carrier members which extend in parallel spaced relation to each other and are adapted to receive between them at least one sitting or lying support element made of a flexible material.

Abstract: An underground swimming-bath has its basin, ceiling and side walls constructed by means of a plurality of parts connected together and consisting of glassfiber reinforced plastic material. The parts are curved in two directions normal with respect to one another and a concrete layer is applied after assembly onto the outer side of the parts forming the swimming-bath.

Abstract: A mouthpiece of elastic material for a drinkwater valve for cattle has an elastic wall which encloses a water discharge chamber and is provided with one or more water ducts. A valve member extends from the drinkwater valve into the water discharge chamber and is actuated in response to pressure exerted by the cattle on the mouthpiece to admit water into the discharge chamber. Continued pressure on the mouthpiece by the cattle forces the water from the discharge chamber through the water ducts into the mouth of the cattle.

Abstract: A return guiding device for reversing the direction of travel of flat metal material and suitable in particular for inserting metal strip into so-called S-roller frames consists of a return guide shell having an area of small width occupied by rollers, so that during guidance the corners at the leading edge of the strip do not rest on the rollers but only on smooth edge regions of the return guide shell.

Abstract: An apparatus for propelling fluid, the apparatus including a rotatable propeller disposed within a container. The propeller has at least one entry collector in the form of a hollow cylinder open at one end and closed at the other. A plurality of conduits are aligned in at least one row, the conduits communicating with the entry collector by way of a similarly aligned row of openings. The conduits may be defined entirely within members which present only smooth surfaces to the surrounding fluid. The cumulative inner volumes of the conduits of one row is less than 33% of the volume of an annular body of revolution defined by that body of conduits when in rotation. Also, the inner volume of the entry collector is approximately equal to the cumulative inner volumes of the conduits of that row. The conduits may be positioned at angles other than 90.degree. with respect to a motor shaft which drives the propeller.

Abstract: Apparatus for rapidly changing the straightening rollers of a roller straightening machine for rolled bars or profiles comprises a linearly and pivotally displaceable support device provided with rotatable transfer shafts which can be moved in line with the roller axes of the machine; withdrawal bayonet rings which are axially displaceable on the transfer shafts and which are lockingly engageable with bayonet rings secured to the straightening rollers are arranged to pull the rollers onto the transfer shafts, and vice versa.

Abstract: A process for drying hygroscopic materials in which the atmospheric condition for removing the humidity from the hygroscopic materials by a suitable drying means is automatically adjusted to maintain a predetermined temperature difference between the dry and wet temperatures in response to a variation of one of these temperatures. When the drying means is not sufficiently humid to effectively remove the humidity from the drying material, any action tending to reduce the humidity from the drying means is interrupted until it again reaches a predetermined value.

Abstract: A dialysis apparatus for the purification of a fluid comprises at least one substantially flat plate having a passage system on at least one side, said passage system being adapted to be connected to inlet and outlet lines for the fluid to be purified, at least one further substantially flat plate having a passage system on at least one side, said passage system being adapted to be connected to inlet and outlet lines for a purification fluid, and at least one diaphragm disposed between the sides of the plates provided with the passage systems.

Abstract: A driving pulley mechanism for multiple purpose hauling devices comprises a driving pulley formed by two oppositely inclined pulley halves having each a cable groove half at its peripheral edge. The pulley halves are pressed in a direction toward each other at their apex supporting the cable.
