  • Patent number: 8239970
Abstract: In a helmet according to this invention, a recess-projection fitting mechanism to attach a blockish inside pad on a head protecting cap portion side includes a male hook or female hook on the blockish inside pad side, and a female hook or male hook on the head protecting cap portion. When pulling the inside pad outward from inside the head protecting cap portion at least partly, a recess-projection fitting disengaging slant surface causes one hook to relatively levitate from the other hook, thus relatively disengaging the male hook from the female hook. This invention can provide the helmet which, when worn by a head of a helmet wearer, can be removed with a comparatively small force, and the detaching operation of which can be performed easily and reliably with a comparatively simple arrangement.

  • Patent number: 8241876
Abstract: A method is disclosed for the generation of triacylglycerols from gums that have been separated from an oil product. The gums are treated with an enzyme having PLC activity, which results in the formation of diacylglycerols and phosphates, and treated with an enzyme having PLA activity, which results in the formation of lyso-phospholipids and free fatty acids. The diacylglycerols and the free fatty acids from these two separate reactions then combine in the presence of the enzymes to generate new triacylglycerol molecules.

  • Patent number: 8235106
Abstract: Systems and methods for downhole formation testing based on the use of one or more elongated sealing pads capable of sealing off and collecting or injecting fluids from elongated portions along the surface of a borehole. The modified sealing pads increase the flow area by collecting fluids from an extended portion along the surface of a borehole, which is likely to straddle one or more layers in laminated or fractured formations. A tester device using the elongated sealing pads can be deployed and withdrawn using an extendible element pressing the pads to the borehole. Various designs and arrangements for use with a fluid tester, which may be part of a modular fluid tool, are disclosed in accordance with different embodiments.

  • Patent number: 8235876
Abstract: An abdominal training apparatus provides focused training on the abdominal muscles using a resistance provided by a resistance device. The user may be supported in an elevated position by a seat support. A cable may transfer the resistance from the resistance device to the user. One or more pulleys may guide the resistance such to the user such that a force vector below and away from the user is provided to the user. In use, the user may perform abdominal training by engaging or grasping the cable to engage the resistance. The user may also support or secure one or both legs using a leg support of the apparatus. The force vector of the resistance is highly beneficial in that it allows the resistance to target and strengthen the abdominal muscles.
