Abstract: The invention relates to a safety runner used in umbrellas. The runner is provided with an elongated gap on its side surface and a resilient tab located outside the gap and extending downwardly from the runner base. The resilient tab has a raised portion formed on its internal surface. Users can depress the resilient tab to inwardly move a hook of the umbrella and so the runner can move downwardly with ease. The runner is an integrally molded part that has the advantages of simplified construction and safety in use.

Abstract: A corona discharge reactor (10) and method for chemically activating various constituents of a gas stream by use of corona discharge is provided. The corona discharge reactor (10) includes within a conduit a discharge plate (30a,b) having a plurality of through openings (33) and a plurality of projecting corona discharge electrodes (31,31',35,35'), and an electrode plate (40a,b,c) having a plurality of through openings (43) displaced from and opposing the tips (32) of the corona discharge electrodes (31,31',35,35'). A pulsed energization scheme is employed to intermittently generate a uniformly distributed corona discharge cloud (1000) between the plurality of corona discharge electrode tips (32) and the electrode plate (40a,b,c) during passage of the gas stream through the conduit.

Abstract: The present invention provides a structure of a plug pin which comprises a rectangular strip sheet having three terminal lugs at one end, and an open slot with two terminal lugs at respective sides of the open slot formed on the other end opposite the three terminal lugs. The strip sheet is folded about a center position in order to overlap two sides of the strip which are pressed tightly together. Two side terminal lugs of the three terminal lugs are bent horizontally in one direction and the central terminal lug is bent in an opposite direction to extend through the open slot to form three staggered terminal lugs for securing an electric cord thereat.

Abstract: An expandable temporary stent system (10) is provided for creating a temporary stent within a vessel of a human body and includes an over-the-wire balloon angioplasty catheter (20) having a central lumen (26) and a distal section having an inflatable balloon (23). The balloon angioplasty catheter (20) has a proximal section that remains outside the body. A stent assembly (30) is slidably mounted on the balloon angioplasty catheter (20) in a coaxial manner and has a proximal section as well as a distal section where a temporary stent (31) is located at the distal section. The distal end of the stent assembly (30) is fixed to the distal section of the balloon angioplasty catheter (20). The proximal end of the temporary stent (31) is fixed to a distal end of a pusher tube (32).

Abstract: A joint for a playpen includes a main base, two wing base at two sides of the main base and fixed with two frames of a playpen, a press block, and two plate hooks. The two plate hooks, fixed on the press block, have two barbs to engage a position pin of each wing base in a spread position of the playpen, preventing the joint from being collapsed even if the press block is accidentally pressed when the playpen is in the spread position, keeping the playpen in the spread position in a quite safe condition.

Abstract: A control device for controlling the switching operation between a scanner having built-in printer port to which a printer is connected and the printer is disclosed. The control device has a computer connector for connection with the parallel port of the computer to receive control bus signals, status bus signals and data bus signals therefrom. The control bus and status bus signals are applied to the printer and the scanner through latches and tri-state buffers which are controlled respectively by the scanner and the printer. The two control units receive the data bus signals from the computer and perform decoding operation on the data received to enable/disable the latches and tri-state buffers so as to activate/de-activate the printer and scanner.

Abstract: A condiment grinding tool is provided. The condiment grinding tool includes a head member having a lower end portion; a grinding support assembly coupled to the lower end portion of the head member; a grinding assembly coupled to the grinding support assembly; a handled member displaceably coupled to the head member; and a displaceable depressed block coupled to the grinding assembly. The grinding support assembly includes an adjustably positioned grinder part having a toothed portion formed thereon. The grinding assembly includes a toothed plate which is positioned in opposition to the grinder part toothed portion. When a user actuates the handled member by imparting upon it a displacement, the displacement is transferred by the depressed block to force the linear displacement of the toothed plate relative to the toothed portion of the grinder part. The condiment is ground therebetween into particulate form for dispensing.

Abstract: An optic disk drive includes a casing, the inside of which a driving unit is arranged. The driving unit includes a motor for rotating a disk driving wheel mounted therein. A disk holding arm is pivoted to the casing and extends above the casing to define a spacing therebetween for removably receiving a disk tray supporting an optic disk thereon to position the optic disk between a disk holding wheel rotatably provided on the disk holding arm and the disk driving wheel. The disk holding wheel holds the optic disk against the disk driving wheel to allow the optic disk to be driven by the motor. A vibration absorbing device includes a plate-like body having a front extension provided on a front edge of the body and two rear extensions provided on an opposite rear edge of the body.

Abstract: An optic disk drive includes an outer casing inside of which an inner casing is received to define two side channels between side walls of the outer casing and opposite sides of the inner casing. A disk holding arm is pivoted to and extends above the inner casing to define a spacing therebetween for receiving therein a disk tray which supports an optic disk thereon. The disk tray has two side flanges, each having a step-like configuration, slidably receivable within the side channels between a retracted position and an ejected position. The vibration absorbing device includes a C-shaped resilient member fixed to each of the side walls of the outer casing and having a contact segment extending into the side channel to contact and form a resilient engagement with the step of the disk tray when the disk tray is at the retracted position.

Abstract: A hand washing apparatus disposed in a trunk of a car is provided and comprises a water tank, a pump, an electromagnetic valve, and a control apparatus. The water tank holds water, and on sensing the hands of a user, the sensor sends a message to the control apparatus. Responsive to the message, the control apparatus activates the electromagnetic valve to open and activates the pump to dispense the water from the water tank, so that the user can wash her or his hands with the water pumped from apparatus.
