Abstract: An audio data stream from a processing system may be buffered to allow low power states in the processing system during audio playback. An audio buffer may be provided external to the processing system and between the processing system and an audio codec. The audio buffer may also shift to an alternate audio data interface mode when the processing system is in the low power state. Of course, many alternatives, variations, and modifications are possible without departing from this embodiment.
Abstract: An electrical cable includes a sheath that envelops at least two internal conductors, and an indicia visible on the sheath is representative of the internal conductor.
Abstract: A system and method for managing private information while using semi-trusted interfaces is described. In an embodiment, an intermediate node may receive a first and second communication between a semi-trusted node and a trusted node. In managing private information, the intermediate node may append private information to the first communication sent from the semi-trusted node to the trusted node, and remove private information from the second communication sent from the trusted node to the semi-trusted node.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a wireless station (STA) capable of implicit feedback in a wireless local area network, comprising at least one power amplifier, a plurality of antennas capable of being connected with said at least one power amplifier, and a switch capable of switching the connection between said plurality of antennas and said at least one power amplifier thereby enabling said wireless station to sound a complete channel matrix for an access point (AP) in communication with said wireless station (STA).
Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to a synchronization channel or preamble structure that may be used in mobile WiMAX systems designed to operate in accordance with the IEEE 802.16e-2005 standard and/or the evolving IEEE 802.16m standard. In one embodiment, the synchronization channel (preamble) structure may comprise a base station group identifier field to store a k-bit base station group identifier, a base station identifier field to store an m-bit base station identifier, and a sector identifier field to store an n-bit sector identifier. The base station group identifier may be associated with a paging group identifier in a wireless communications system such as mobile WiMAX network. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract: Embodiments herein may receive a ranging request message with a sleep-mode indication from a mobile node at a destination base station in a wireless packet-switched network. System paging information may be accessed to determine a base station identifier associated with an originating base station that last served the mobile node. The originating base station may be contacted to retrieve a service context associated with the mobile node and any downlink packets buffered for the mobile node by the originating base station. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Abstract: In various embodiments, a multi-channel request-to-send and a multi-channel clear-to-send may be used in a wireless communications network to assure that a subsequent multi-channel communications exchange between two devices takes place only over channels that are sensed by both devices as being free.
Abstract: A multi-resolution codebook is used to provide quantization for channel related information in a wireless network that supports both single-user MIMO and multi-user MIMO. The multi-resolution codebook may include a higher resolution “fine” codebook for use with MU-MIMO subscriber stations and a lower resolution “coarse” codebook for use with SU-MIMO subscriber stations. A tracking codebook may also be used to provide quantization for updates to channel related information. In at least one embodiment, the tracking codebook includes a number of unit vectors (or orthogonal matrices) disposed upon a sphere cap.
Abstract: A method and apparatus to perform protocol translation for a modular system may be described wherein a first packet created in accordance with a first protocol is received, a packet type for the first packet is determined, a second protocol based on the packet type is selected and the first packet is translated to a second packet in accordance with the second protocol. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Direct macroblock mode techniques for high performance hardware motion compensation are described. An embodiment includes a hardware motion compensation graphics display device driver. More specifically, an embodiment mitigates a macroblock data parsing bottleneck in the display device driver by directly generating macroblock instructions and storing them in a dedicated buffer. For example, an embodiment includes an independent direct memory access instruction execution buffer for macroblock instructions separate from the direct memory access instruction execution buffer for all other hardware motion compensation instructions. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract: A method and apparatus to balance adapter power supply and computing device power demand. In one embodiment, power to/from battery pack(s) maybe controlled by adjusting the output voltage of the power adapter via the current input to the power adapter through a feedback pin to meet power demand of electrical loads. Another embodiment provides a way to adjust the activities of the electrical loads such that neither adapter power rating nor the electrical load power limit is exceeded while avoiding system shutdown.
Abstract: A method is provided. The method includes receiving data and classifying received data in one of several tiers of data. The method also includes storing each tier of data on a different non-volatile memory device.
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the present invention sets forth a system, method and computer program product which may include providing an online waiting room and gatekeeper for controlling access to users in a plurality of tiered classification standby lines, seeking access to an online event.

Abstract: Techniques to perform iterative decoding of concatenated low-density parity-check codes (LDPC) are described. Iterative decoding of the concatenated code is achieved by performing T common iterations, wherein a common iteration comprises t1 decoding iterations on the inner LDPC code my means of a first decoder (340) followed by t2 decoding iterations on the outer LDPC code my means of a second decoder (350) , and wherein the two decoders exchange soft-output information.
Abstract: A stream of raw acoustic data can be received at a client device. The client device can frame the stream of raw acoustic data at particular intervals with alignment information to create framed acoustic data, and buffer the framed acoustic data while waiting for a data request from a host device. In response to receiving the data request, the client device can provide the framed acoustic data to the host device.
Abstract: A device article and method for an open loop calibrated phase wrapping phase modulator. A tapped delay line may provide a coarse resolution for one or more phases of a signal. A phase multiplexer may receive one or more coarse phases from the tapped delay line and select a coarse phase to send to the digitally controlled delay line. A digitally controlled delay line may provide a fine resolution to the coarse phase from the phase multiplexer.
