Abstract: Techniques to manage bandwidth using weighted reduction are described wherein a combined instantaneous data rate for a set of logical channels is determined, a determination is made whether a transport format combination (TFC) is valid for the combined instantaneous data rate, and an instantaneous data rate for at least one of the logical channels is reduced using a weighted reduction technique. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A system and process are described where a user of a mobile device grants access to resources associated with the mobile device to other users. Access is typically established when the user of the mobile device couples the device to a network environment and another user provides data that matches sharing criteria associated with the desired resource. The sharing criteria can include user ID/password combination, a network ID or a combination of both.

Abstract: One embodiment includes an apparatus comprising a closed loop feedback controller and a power output stage to couple to the closed loop feedback controller. The closed loop feedback controller and the power output stage are combined to form a single element.
Abstract: Method and apparatus are described for a memory cell includes a substrate, a body extending vertically from the substrate, a first gate having a vertical member and a horizontal member and a second gate comprising a vertical member and a horizontal member. The first gate is disposed laterally from the body and the second gate is disposed laterally from the first gate. The horizontal member of the first gate overlaps the horizontal member of the second gate.
Abstract: Embodiments of a method and apparatus to improve network performance by managing packet fragmentation with address translation are described.
Abstract: A computer implemented method of conducting a teleconference is disclosed. The method includes selecting a group of potential conferees using a graphical user interface tool displayed on a display screen, automatically setting up the teleconference by accessing telephone numbers for each conferee of the group of potential conferees and individually attempting to make contact with the group of potential conferees over a telephone system. The method further includes updating contact status information for the group of potential conferees during the automatic set up of the teleconference. A teleconference is established between the available conferees of the group of potential conferees.
Abstract: A method broadcasts data. The method includes sending to a receiver scheduling information that includes a scheduled time and broadcasting data at the scheduled time. The scheduling information identifies an encoding format and one or more viewer applications capable of processing the data broadcast.
Abstract: A method and apparatus to manage tone clamping are described wherein atone is clamped using a buffer with a first size and the performance of the clamping is analyzed. The buffer is set to a second size in accordance with the analysis. The clamping comprises receiving audio information, storing the audio information in the buffer, detecting tone information in the audio information, and removing the tone information from the audio information. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract: A miniature keyboard for a palm held computer is disclosed. The miniature keyboard includes a plurality of keys for providing input to a hand held computing device. The keyboard includes a platform supporting the plurality of keys. The platform is configured to be sized for use by a single hand and the platforms is selectively foldable to substantially conceal the plurality of keys from view. The keyboard also includes a support structure that couples the platform to the hand held computing device body. The support structure is configured to prevent substantial movement of the platform relative to the hand held computing device body. A handheld electronic communications device is disclosed. The handheld electronic communications device comprises a housing supporting communication electronics and a display. The housing has a periphery. A first platform is integrated into the housing and supports a first set of keys. The first set of keys is a subset of a full set of alphabetic keys.

Abstract: A system and apparatus for an extendable antenna architecture are described. The apparatus may include an antenna body having one or more antenna traces, and an antenna housing to couple to the antenna body. The antenna housing may have an extended position and a retracted position. The antenna housing may have a first external surface forming a substantially continuous plane with a second external surface for a device housing when in the retracted position. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to route information in a network is described. A technique is described to search for routine information that uses a first technique on at least a portion of a first value of a network address and a second technique on at least a portion of a second section of an address. In particular, the first value is associated with an aggregation identifier, and compared to a unique prefix. In this way, address identifiers may be generated, and this identifier is used to search for routing information.
