  • Patent number: 4655301
Abstract: The invention relates to an expansible drive core, which in its contracted state can be accommodated into a thin-walled tube, which has to be driven into the ground, wherein prior to the action of driving the drive core can be expanded as to be clamped against the inner side of the wall of the thin-walled tube, and after the action of driving the drive core can be contracted for removal from the tube.According to the invention the drive core includes a metal core body and at least one expansion means of elastic material, such as rubber disposed over this core body, and passages are formed in the core body, through which a pressurized medium, such as air or water under pressure, can be supplied from the interior of the core body for expanding the elastic expansion means, while reinforcement means co-operate with the elastic expansion means so as to serve for the transmission of forces between the core body and the thin-walled tube.

  • Patent number: 4653382
Abstract: A pull-type pneumatic booster comprises an elongated plunger received in a body for sliding movement along an axis thereof. A movable member is slidably received in the body and defines a low and a high pressure chamber therein. The high pressure chamber is controlled by a valve device to communicate with either of the low pressure chamber and a high pressure source in accordance with the movement of the plunger. One end portion of the plunger extends beyond the movable member into the low pressure chamber. The plunger has the other end portion of a tubular configuration. The front and rear end portions of the plunger are snugly fitted in and disposed in sliding contact with an inner surface of a tubular portion the movable member for guiding the movement of the plunger along the axis of the body. A load-transmitting means is received in the tubular rear end portion of the plunger for transmitting a reaction force applied to the output member to the input member via the plunger.

  • Patent number: 4653485
Abstract: A penile implant includes a hollow elastomeric internal cylinder that is coaxial with an external cylinder both of which are rounded at the distal end and suitably secured to one another at this location. The space between the cylinders is designed to receive fluid through a laterally extending port for pressurizing the implant to achieve the erectile state. A root section is adapted to be fastened to the proximal end of the outer cylinder. When it is desired to implant the prosthesis, the root section is disassociated from the coaxial cylinders and a tool, in rod form, is inserted into the internal cylinder for facilitating the placement of the prosthesis into the dilated corpus cavernosum. When the distal end of the prosthesis is properly located, the surgeon holds the distal end of the prosthesis through the wall of the penis and then removes the tool from the internal cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4653399
Abstract: Piles of sheets (S5) consisting of sheets of security papers (10), which comprise security paper imprints arranged in the form of a matrix, are cut automatically, with step-wise feed, first of all into layers of strips (18) and then into bundles of security papers (19). The lengths of the feed movements of the feed device (26), which moves the piles of sheets forwards step-wise when cutting strips, are controlled by a reading unit (28) provided on the strip-cutting unit (27), respectively on reading an edge mark, which was printed during printing of the sheets in the printing machine (20) by the printing plate on a side edge of the sheet cut off at a later time and orientated parallel to the feed direction of the pile of sheets, when cutting strips.
