  • Patent number: 5915422
Abstract: An improvement (20) for producing an enhanced seam on a machine clothing for a paper or cellulose machine, especially, but not exclusively, when using flat filament yarns (26) in the machine direction of the clothing is shown. The seam has two preformed yarn spirals (20), which are each bound, by the machine direction yarns (26) of the clothing, to one seam edge, thereby each forming a row of seam loops (22) which are meshable with each other and joinable onto each other by means of a pintle wire. At least one spiral (20), preferably both, is, between neighboring seam loops (22) in the row of loops, preformed with special securing portions (24), to which the spiral (20) is attached at the corresponding seam edge. The securing portions (24) hold the seam loops (22) spaced apart and are extended substantially in the longitudinal direction of the spiral (20).

  • Patent number: 5914920
Abstract: There is disclosed a double density recording method for a constant angular velocity type optical disk in which a data information area for recording data information and a servo information area for recording servo control information are provided in recording tracks of the optical disk, pairs of wobble pits for tracking servo control being provided in a staggered form in the servo control area in such a manner that the center axes of the recording tracks are put between the respective pairs of wobble pits, the method being adapted to carry out a subtractive operation of reflected light signals from the respective wobble pits to generate a tracking error signal to thereby conduct a tracking servo control, and to record data information under such a tracking servo control, wherein the respective pair of wobble pits are provided in such a manner that they are shared as wobble pits of adjacent recording tracks, and the wobble pits are provided in a staggered form in a radial direction of the optical disk.

  • Patent number: 5915158
Abstract: In a device and method for feeding one by one documents including a preceding document to be fed earlier and a following document to be fed later to an image scanning station having a scanning reference point, the document being transported toward the image scanning station is first measured to find the length of the document, so that the following document is introduced into the image scanning station with timing varying with the length of the preceding document after the preceding document is treated and discharged. In a case that the following document passes past the scanning reference point just when the preceding document is discharged, the following document is moved backward to the scanning reference point, but if the following document does not reach the scanning reference point at that time, it is further forwarded to the appropriate image scanning station, consequently to shorten the interval of transporting the preceding and following documents, thus speeding up the image processing operation.

  • Patent number: 5912875
Abstract: There is provided a new and useful apparatus for applying a removable protective cover to an optical disc in which the optical disc has a circular configuration, an aperture centered therein and an outer edge. The cover comprises at least one sheet of film of generally circular configuration which corresponds to the circular configuration of the disc. The cover is constructed of a material that will not adversely interfere with the read process of the disc when the cover is in place about the disc. The cover further comprises a plurality of resilient clasps spaced about a circumferential edge of the film to engage the disc about its outer edge in a snap-on spring-like fit.

  • Patent number: 5911182
Abstract: When a handy scanner 8 reads a standard sewing designation mark 45 drawn in advance on a work sheet 39 held by an embroidery frame 34, the sewing data on an embroidery pattern to be sewn can be edited so that the position and direction and the pattern size at the time the embroidery pattern is actually sewn on the work sheet 39 correspond to the position and direction and the pattern size indicated by the standard mark 45. Accordingly, the sewing data can be simply edited only if the work sheet 39 is set in the embroidery frame 34, without manual operations, resulting in a large improvement of the efficiency of sewing work.
