  • Patent number: 6906363
Abstract: A semiconductor device raises the maximum oscillation frequency fmax of the bipolar transistor. The stopper dielectric layer is formed on the substrate to cover the transistor section and the isolation dielectric. The interlayer dielectric layer is formed on the stopper dielectric layer. The base contact plug, which is formed in the interlayer dielectric layer, is located over the isolation dielectric in such a way as to contact the graft base region near its bottom end corner. Therefore, the base contact needs not to entirely overlap with the graft base region, which means that the graft base region can be narrowed without increasing the base resistance Rb and that the collector-base capacitance Ccb is reduced. Also, electrical short circuit between the graft base region and the collector region can be effectively suppressed by the stopper dielectric layer.

  • Patent number: 6907042
Abstract: A packet processing device in which a receiving buffer free space notifying portion notifies a free space of a receiving buffer, an accumulation condition determining portion determines a size of a big packet based on the free space, and a reassembly buffer processor reassembles a plurality of receiving packets into a single big packet to be transmitted to the receiving buffer. A backward packet inclusive information reading circuit for detecting the free space based on information within a backward packet from the upper layer may be used as the receiving buffer free space notifying portion. Also, an application layer may be used as the upper layer so that the big packet is transmitted not through a buffer of a transport layer but directly to the receiving buffer.

  • Patent number: 6904746
Abstract: Several methods of forming links for use with the creation of rope chains is disclosed, whereby the outer peripheries of such links are contoured prior to assembly into rope chains. In one embodiment, the wire used in the formation of intertwinable links is contoured and then cut into individual, pre-contoured links. In another embodiment, the outer periphery of non-contoured links are individually contoured prior to the intertwining of such links to form actual rope chains. In another embodiment, individual links are collectively contoured, preferably after arrangement on a support such as a mandril. Such contouring can be accomplished by hand, machine or the like.

  • Patent number: 6907448
Abstract: When a server apparatus 10 accepts an access of a user, the server apparatus 10 saves both identification information of the user and an access time instant of the user into a file 27 during a preselected time period, and also counts identification information related to the same user, which has been saved in this file 27. Then, when a counted number is larger than, or equal to a certain number, the server apparatus 10 judges that this user intensively accesses the server apparatus 10 within a short time period. Thus, users who access the server apparatus 10 are classified into a user who intensively access this server apparatus 10 within a short time period, or another user who does not intensively access this server apparatus 10 within a short time period. As to such a user who intensively accesses a server apparatus within a short time period, log information of this user is not recorded, so that loads given to the server apparatus are reduced.

  • Patent number: 6907095
Abstract: A clock ride-over circuit in which clock ride-over may be achieved even if jitter is contained in clocks prior to and subsequent to ride-over and no control input signal for write and readout is applied from outside. A clock prior to rideover CLK—1 is detected by a clock subsequent to ride-over CLK—2 which is of a higher speed than the clock prior to ride-over. A timing signal TIM of a constant period, generated by a counter adapted for self-running with the clock prior to ride-over, is compared to the phase comparison signal COMP which is the result of the clock detection. Stable clock ride-over is possible by the phase comparison signal COMP having a pulse width larger than the jitter period of the clock subsequent to ride-over.

  • Patent number: 6903725
Abstract: A self-powered computer-pointing device includes a housing and a roller ball accommodated within the housing. At least a portion of the roller ball is exposed through an opening in the housing to allow the roller ball to contact a surface on which the computer-pointing device rests. Movement of the computer-pointing device across the surface imparts rotation of the roller ball. A sensing mechanism senses movement of the roller ball and generates x-y movement signals corresponding to movement of the computer-pointing device across the surface. The sensing mechanism conveys the x-y movement signals to a host computer. A power generating mechanism is coupled to the roller ball and converts rotational movement of the roller ball into electrical energy that is used as power by the computer-pointing device.

  • Patent number: 6903746
Abstract: A first texture is used for determining color and design of a polygon structuring an object rendered upon a two-dimensional screen. A second texture has a pattern of dense distribution of color with a predetermined slant relative to the two-dimensional screen. An rendering processing device first applies a first texture to a polygon structuring an object, and thereafter performs translucent synthesis of a second texture on an object applied with the first texture, thereby making it possible to easily render an image in a hand-drawn illustration style in, for example, home video games and computer graphics.

  • Patent number: 6901650
Abstract: A relative adjustment between an optical disc rotating mechanism and an optical pickup is adjusted by rotating a rotary member against a biasing force of an engaging projection. As the rotary member is rotated, the projection is slid for movement on an inclined surface, changing a relative position between the rotary member and a bottom wall of a subsidiary chassis, causing the subsidiary chassis to have a varied inclination relative to a main chassis. An adjusted condition is maintained by an engaging force between an engaging groove and the engaging projection biased toward the rotary member.

  • Patent number: 6904076
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an interference canceller for a DS-CDMA communication system and a radio communication device that performs multi-rate transmission and eliminates interference of high-rate channels by a simplified structure. In a DS-CDMA communication system that performs a multi-rate transmission including at least low-rate channels and high-rate channels, there is provided an interference canceller that includes an array antenna interference replicating unit. The interference replicating unit is used in high-rate channels that receive signals received via array antenna elements and creates interference replicas of the high-rate channels. The system also includes an adder 6, which subtracts the interference replicas from the received signal via the array antenna elements. Further a resultant interference-eliminated signal is applied to receivers for the low-rate and high-rate channels.

Abstract: A device, for disobstructing ateriosclerotic lesions in proximity to the origin of lateral branches or bifurcations of an artery. The device includes a stent having two sections. One section is adhered along approximately two thirds of its total length to a balloon. The other section corresponds to the final third of the length of the stent does not completely adhere to the balloon and is partially expanded before its use. A proximal end of a metallic guide wire passes through the mesh of the partially expanded section which has been previously introduced into a secondary branch or bifurcation in the artery. The wire provides an access to the secondary branch for introducing a second balloon or a second stent for the disobstruction of the secondary branch or bifurcation.
