  • Patent number: 6624990
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved underwater light junction box which incorporates a ground fault circuit interrupter. The electrical junction box includes a cover and a ground fault circuit interrupter securely positioned between the cover and a base attachable to the cover. A switch of the ground fault circuit interrupter is aligned with a cover aperture and an overlying flexible, window. The ground fault circuit interrupter preferably has a bracket attached thereto for securing it to an inner surface of the side of the cover having the aperture to secure the ground fault circuit interrupter within the cover and properly align the switch with the cover's aperture. In order to retrofit an existing junction box so as to incorporate a ground fault circuit interrupter, the lid from the existing junction box is first removed. The electrical connections between the underwater illuminating light are disconnected from other electrical connections and connected to the ground fault circuit interrupter.

  • Patent number: 6621984
Abstract: An in-line fluid heating system including a lamp module having a plurality of heating lamps. A fluid vessel is configured to slidably accept the lamp module therein. The fluid vessel includes a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, a central tube, and an outer envelope in fluid communication with and coaxial to the central tube. The heating lamp module is removably disposed between the central tube and outer envelope such that the fluid is heated as it passes through the central tube and the outer envelope. A reflector substantially surrounds the fluid vessel for reflecting energy emitted from the lamp module back into the fluid vessel. Insulation may substantially surround the reflector and fluid vessel to further prevent heat loss.

  • Patent number: 6619237
Abstract: A cat scratching apparatus includes a base and post and utilizes removable, cat scratching covers. A base anchor attaches to the base and supports the vertically extending post. A plug fits in a top of the post. A post cover wraps around sides of the post and has interfitting teeth and grooves for folding over the top of the post and covering the plug. A base cover folds over sides of the base and attaches to an underside of the base. The base cover also has a hole allowing the post to pass through. The covers are made of a cat-scratchable material, substantially cover the entire base and post, and are removed, discarded, and replaced at the end of their useful lives. The base and post are not discarded and are continually reused.

  • Patent number: 6619511
Abstract: An improved mounting adapter is provided for use in a bottled water cooler of the type having an upwardly open cooler reservoir for receiving a supply of water from a bottle mounted over the reservoir in an inverted orientation to permit water downflow from the bottle to the reservoir. The improved adapter includes a compact and substantially unitized adapter body or shell for removable snap-fit mounting onto the cooler reservoir at the open upper end thereof. The adapter additionally includes an upstanding feed tube or probe for operatively engaging a valved bottle cap mounted on the neck of a water-containing bottle supported in an inverted orientation over the cooler reservoir. In one form, the adapter may carry a seal ring gasket for sealingly engaging an inner wall surface of the cooler reservoir, and an air filter may be provided to filter ambient air drawn into the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6604289
Abstract: A measuring scriber including a base having a channel. A bar is slidably disposed within the base channel. A jaw is mounted on an end of the bar. A first scribe blade or needle extends from the base, and a second scribe blade or needle extends from the jaw. A pin extends from the jaw for measuring and marking a point on an object on which it is placed. An alignment block is attached to the base and has a straight outer surface for contacting a straight reference edge, and a curved outer surface for contacting a curved reference edge. Thus, a reference point or line can be simultaneously measured and marked in relation to any flat or raised reference edge.

  • Patent number: 6602327
Abstract: Undesirable dissolved gas is removed from a liquid by pressurizing the liquid containing the undesirable dissolved gas therein. The liquid is then directed into a hydrocyclone having an inlet optimized for liquid particle movement through a liquid vortex stream created by the hydrocyclone. A preferred gas is injected into an evacuated central area of the liquid vortex stream for absorption therein. The pressure of the liquid is then lowered, such as by directing the liquid to a discharge tank, in order to remove a proportional amount of absorbed preferred gas and the undesirable dissolved gas from the liquid.

  • Patent number: 6598893
Abstract: A rear suspension system for two-wheeled vehicles having a generally triangular configuration includes first and second spaced apart support axle plates having aligned apertures that receive an axle of a rear wheel of the vehicle. An upper arm assembly is pivotally connected between a vehicle frame and the first and second support plates. A lower arm assembly is pivotally connected at a first end to the first and second support axle plates. First and second control arms are pivotally connected to a pivot arm assembly, a second end of the lower arm assembly, and to the upper arm assembly. A shock unit is associated with a lower arm assembly or pivot arm assembly at one end, and to the vehicle frame at the opposite end.

  • Patent number: 6598867
Abstract: A vise system including a plurality of jaws associated with a vise body. A first jaw is attached to a first shaft which are both slidable with respect to the vise body. A second jaw is attached to a second shaft which are both slidable with respect to the vise body independent of the first jaw and first shaft. A locking mechanism is associated with the first and second shafts for locking the first and second shafts, and first and second jaws, in place. The locking mechanism includes a first collet partially surrounding the first shaft, and an aligned second collet partially surrounding the second shaft. First and second stops are operatively connected to a handle so that as the handle is turned, the first and second stops engage the respective first and second collets to compress the collets over the shafts to immobilize them.

  • Patent number: 6595862
Abstract: A billiards ball rack includes a frame having a plurality of side walls forming an opening. A plate is attached to a top surface of the frame, and includes inwardly and downwardly directed inclined surfaces for engaging an outer periphery of a group of billiards balls to compact the billiards balls into a desired configuration. The inclined surfaces define a cut-out portion of the plate, typically a triangle or diamond. The rack includes lifting levers pivotally attached to two side walls of the triangular frame. When a handle segment of the lever is grasped and pulled upward, a lower foot segment pivots and extends below a base of the frame to lift the frame from the playing surface, leaving the compacted billiards balls in the desired configuration on the billiard table.
