Abstract: An in-store advertising cover for installation onto and covering an upright security fixture includes a pair of front and rear, arcuate panels joined together along side, linear edges to form a lens-shaped cross section when the fixture is covered. A crease extends transversely across the arcuate panels between the side edges. The arcuate panels are foldable about the crease when the fixture is not covered, for example, during shipping, and are unfolded during installation. A lower half of the cover is initially installed on the fixture, followed by an upper half. Advertising material is applied on one or both arcuate panels. The advertising material is visible when viewed off to one side of the respective unfolded arcuate panels.
Abstract: It is known to assist cooling of a combustion chamber in a gas turbine by fixing an exo-skeleton tile structure to an inner annular combustion liner shell. To improve structural integrity of the exo-skeleton tile structure, each tile is formed with at least one rib extending circumferentially across the outer surface of the tile. An end of each rib projects beyond one edge of the tile, like tiles being linked at overlapping edges by the inter-engagement of a projecting rib of one tile with the rib of an adjacent tile. The inter-engaging ends of the ribs are relatively slideable circumferentially to allow thermal expansion and contraction of the exo-skeleton structure, but sockets are provided where the ribs engage so as to resist relative bending of the adjacent tiles about their linked edges and impart rigidity to the structure.
Abstract: A method for protection of STM-n/OC-n clear channel connections calls for a protection diagram allowing protection of STM-n/OC-n clear channel signals transmitted from a source point to a destination point. This protection allows overcoming a fall along the path between source point and destination point. It can be used in different types of network structure, for example “ring” or “mesh”. The method calls for duplication of STM-n/OC-n signals at the transmitting end of the subnetwork and transmission over two different routes which can be defined as work and protection paths. To ensure success of the protection diagram the work and protection channels follow different routes. At the receiving end, the signal is selected from the work path or the protection path depending on the quality of the received signals, the protection state and the external commands.

Abstract: A saddle-stitched brochure comprising a collated sheet stack (P1 to P3) folded in two at its center portion and stitched with wire at least two positions spaced from each other on the folding line (1a), characterized in that a small printed material (2, 2a) is arranged between the adjacent sheets (P2, P3) of the sheet stack (P1 to P3) and inserted between the adjacent stitched portions (3, 3) on the folding line (1a) and folded along the folding line (1a) together with the sheet stack (P1 to P3) so as to be held in the brochures (1).
Abstract: A method of synchronizing a plurality of generators connected together in parallel to a supply network. A common synchronization signal can be generated having a frequency versus time pattern that is the same as the frequency versus time pattern of the supply network during normal operating conditions. The common synchronization signal is then supplied to each of the generators to control the level of power that is supplied to the supply network by the generators.
Abstract: A powered load-moving tractor unit for moving a wheeled load comprises a tractor body with two powered ground-engaging tractor wheels steerable by a tiller and a draw bar for connecting the tractor body to the load through a releasable load hitch. To steer the load, the tractor body can be moved pivotally about a vertical axis relative to the draw bar. That vertical axis is defined by the two halves of a turntable mounted on the tractor body directly over the axis of rotation of the steerable ground-engaging wheels. The draw bar is rigidly connected over the top half of the turntable and extends down the front of the tractor body to the load hitch. The load hitch comprises telescopically inter-engageable elements on the draw bar and the load, and a latch mechanism that is remotely releasable from the end of the draw bar remote from the load hitch.
Abstract: A method for the transmission of data in a synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) network comprising the steps of transmitting to a node of the network a form of data signal from outside the network, converting the signal into a virtually concatenated information structure and transporting the signal through the network in the virtually concatenated information structure; means for carrying out the method and tributary cards arranged and configured to process signals received in contiguously concatenated form to convert them into virtually concatenated form for transfer across the network; thus providing for data transmitted in high-bandwidth, contiguosly concatenated signals (ie VC-4-4c) to be transported across a SDH network, not itself capable of carrying contiguously concatenated signals.
Abstract: The present invention provides novel conjugate fibers being excellent in productivity and having good water absorption, antistatic property and cool feeling by contact. The conjugate fibers include a fiber-forming resin such as polyamide, polyester and the like in the sheath portion and a polyether block amide copolymer in the core portion, in which the area ratio of the core portion to the sheath portion is 5/95 to 95/5, and the exposure angle of the core portion to the surface is 5° to 90°. Specifically it is preferable that the area ratio of the core portion to the sheath portion is 10/90 to 90/10, the exposure angle of the core portion to the surface is 5° to 80°, and the crimp ratio is 2 to 30%.
Abstract: A combustor liner for use in a gas turbine engine includes a first liner section and a second liner section. They are joined together by welding or a mechanical fixing along a common join line or weld. A heat shield extends along the join line to protect it from the high temperatures and thermal stresses that are experienced by the combustor liner during the operation of the gas turbine engine. The heat shield is spaced apart from the joint line to define a passage between the heat shield and the first and second liner sections for the introduction of a cooling fluid such as air. The heat shield and the exposed surfaces of the liner sections are coated with a thermal barrier coating.
