Abstract: A pry bar has generally octagonal cross-section handle with a grip portion having four rounded surfaces formed of a soft elastomeric material and four alternating surfaces formed of hard thermoplastic material. The elastomeric material rounded surfaces are formed with pluralities of small orifices. The handle is formed with an inner hard thermoplastic core and molded over outer elastomeric cover. A metal impact cap is fixed secured in the handle proximate end.

Abstract: A first communication control system comprising a balance database for storing the prepaid money of each per caller number, a charge database for storing the charge system of each communication company, a balance checking part for checking the balance by searching the balance database with the caller number, a call permission determining part for determining the permission of a call of the caller based on the balance, a communication company specifying part for specifying one communication company based on the input number from a caller terminal, a line switch and a line control part for connecting the caller terminal with a called terminal through an exchange of the specified communication company, a speech time measuring part for measuring the speech time, a telephone charge calculating part for calculating the speech time and the telephone charge according to the charge system of the communication company, and a balance updating part for subtracting the telephone charge from the balance of the caller.

Abstract: Circuit to clamp the voltages in the electrodes of the CHEF system chambers of Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) which is formed by two identical clamping circuits that are connected to a power supply through an alternator and only one of the two circuits receives electric power at the same time. Each clamping circuit is formed by several resistors and diodes connected in series to form a voltage divider. Voltage repeaters are connected to the nodes formed in the union of two resistors. Each repeater is connected to a pair of electrodes that should be polarized at the same potential. Diodes are introduced to correct small errors in the voltage pattern applied to the electrodes. The circuit is able to maintain the potential of each electrode in front of the variations of conductivity that occur inside the chamber during the electrophoresis. This way each imposition circuit generates a homogeneous electric field of same value and different direction in a PFGE chamber of the CHEF system.

Abstract: A broadband surface mounting package includes a housing having a flat bottom wall forming parallel first and second surfaces. An integral wall forms, with the bottom wall, an enclosure having a top opening to provide access to an interior compartment or cavity to receive a microwave component. The second surface is arranged to contact a printed circuit board (PCB) for attachment to lands or pads on the PCB. Cylindrical holes in the enclosure each defines an axis parallel to the bottom wall, and has a dimension, generally transverse to the bottom wall, to extend from the second surface to at least the first surface, and has an axial length sufficient to provide a through hole in the wall and a gap within the bottom wall proximate to and inwardly from the wall.

Abstract: The invention relates to laser materials and specifically to single crystal active media for solid state lasers operating in the middle-infrared (Mid-IR) 4-5 ?m range of optical spectrum, wherein a cross section of stimulated emission and laser wavelength is shifted to the range of atmospheric transparency with a single crystal orthorhombic structure with space group D242h-Fddd. The material contains Lead, Gallium, Sulfur and is doped with Dysprosium according to general formula: Pb1?3xDy2xGa2S4, where 0.0001<x<0.05. Lasers operating in this matter and in this spectral range are advantageous for lidar applications, free space communication, environmental monitoring, and other purposes.

Abstract: Proposed is a circuitry and a related control mechanism for a vehicle with electric drive only or for a vehicle with hybrid drive comprised of an electric and a combustion motor. This circuitry has a multi-phase machine and two direct current units. Furthermore, an arrangement of power semiconductor components, in two converters in bridge arrangement of two semiconductor switches whose respective alternating current connections are connected in phase direction and to the connections of the multi-phase machine. The negative polarity connections of the two direct current units and the two converters are also connected to each other, the positive polarity connection of the first direct current unit is connected to the positive connection of the first convert by means of a flow control valve and the positive polarity connection of the second direct current unit is connected to the positive connection of the second converter by means of a flow control valve.

Abstract: A pry bar has an ergonomic handle formed with a grip portion having convex upper grip surface and a concave lower grip with an inner hard thermoplastic core and an outer elastomeric molded over cover. The convex upper grip surface portion is more distantly disposed from the handle longitudinal axis than the curved lower grip surface portion. The upper grip surface is formed with a distally disposed outwardly flared guard formed with thumb receiving recess. The handle sides are formed with elongated outwardly bulged contoured respective palm engaging portions for right or left handed grip engagement.

Abstract: A system for the automatic collection of closed caption text wherein broadcast source of closed caption text are received by a tuner, then decoded and a text handler writes text files. A remote inquiry client is operably connected to the tuner and a server, to push the text files from the inquiry client to the server. A previously submitted search profile originated by the inquiry client is automatically compared with the text files and parsed to create a inquiry client search result, and the useful inquiry client is then automatically contacted regarding the search result.

Abstract: A rack-mounting system includes a rack with a number of shelves for mounting electronic modular components. At least two modular components are mounted on each shelf, each component with width approximately equal to W/n, where W equals the width of the shelf and n equals the maximum number of modular components to be mounted on a single shelf. Each modular component is fully self-contained, stand-alone, and operates with full independence of the other self-contained, stand-alone components. At least two modular components have the same function. Means is provided for switching out a defective component and switching in a standby component that performs the same function, thus enhancing redundancy.
