Patent number: 4205281Abstract: A ferrite composite circulator according to the present invention performs various circulator actions with ferrite composites in which resonant TM modes and relevant circulating modes are utilized in multiple. Circulator performances are categorized into broadband operation, frequency dividing operation, and others, from the viewpoint of multiple circulation frequency operation. These operations have a common basis on the finding of multiple circulation frequency operation which has been achieved with a ferrite-dielectric composite circulator. Three types of ferrite composites used are a ferrite-conductor composite, a ferrite-dielectric-conductor composite, and a ferrite-ferrite composite.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1978Date of Patent: May 27, 1980Inventor: Tsukasa Nagao

Patent number: 4205378Abstract: An internal combustion engine fuel ignition system has feedback from an exhaust gas composition transducer which operates effectively only at normal exhaust temperatures, the transducer having a very high impedance at low temperatures. The feedback circuit includes a comparator stage and an integrator stage integrating the output of the comparator stage which compares the transducer output with a reference voltage. A feedback resistor is connected from the integrator stage output to the comparator stage input, so that, at low temperature the integrator stage output stabilises at a predetermined level. Only when the transducer warms up so that its impedance becomes significantly less than that of the feedback resistor does the exhaust feedback control loop become effective.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1978Date of Patent: May 27, 1980Assignee: Lucas Industries LimitedInventor: Peter J. Patent number: 4204557Abstract: The invention relates to a fluid flow control valve of the type in which flow through the valve is controlled by movement of a chamber wall caused by fluid flowing into the chamber through a restricted inlet and a cleaning element is provided to clean the inlet. In this invention, the cleaning element is longer than the restricted inlet and is movable between a first position in which it does not extend through the restricted inlet and a second position in which it extends completely through the restricted inlet. The cleaning element is a rod-like element of self-supporting flexible synthetic plastics material and has a limited inherent rigidity enabling it to force dirt and scale from the restricted inlet.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1978Date of Patent: May 27, 1980Inventor: Edgar P. Patent number: 4201257Abstract: A timber processing machine comprising a hollow rotor provided with barking and lopping knives. A tree trunk to be processed is fed longitudinally through the rotor. A non-rotable guide ring is coaxially fastened to the rotor at the inlet side of the knives. The front edge of the knives is sharpened along that portion of the knives which extends radially inside the guide ring. Said guide ring forces the branches of the tree trunk fed into the rotor to be bent into positions in parallel with the tree trunk and the knives cut the bent branches into pieces as the trunk is fed through the rotor.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1978Date of Patent: May 6, 1980Inventor: Antti T. Patent number: 4201214Abstract: An applicator for attachment of ear tags to animals. The device incorporates a slotted base to which is affixed, at 90.degree., an elongate guide. A first handle extends from that end of the base opposite the slotted portion thereof and a second handle is pivoted to move from an open to a closed position in a plane through the first handle normal to the plane of the base. A tag carrying spear is movable from a rest position adjacent the guide member and normal to the plane of the base through a path of travel including a first downstroke in a direction normal to the base. At the end of the downstroke the tag anchor portion is wholly through the ear of an animal, which ear is retained adjacent the base during a tagging operation. The spear may then pivot through an arc through the slotted base while being withdrawn from the tagged ear.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1977Date of Patent: May 6, 1980Assignee: Marie Ellen WhiteleyInventor: William B.
