Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for registering rules for attributes of an entity with an entity validation and inference unit. The entity validation and inference unit can further validate input values for an entity and/or infer attributes of an entity using the associated registered rules. The entity validation and inference unit can also provide information regarding attributes, relations, and behaviors of an entity using the associated registered rules in response to a query. The present invention also provides a mechanism for a user to query an entity or the entity validation and inference unit regarding valid values for an entity. The mechanism also allows the user to query the registered rule associated with the entity.

Abstract: A fuel cell stack has fuel cell units. Each of the fuel cell units includes first and second membrane electrode assemblies and first to third separators sandwiching the first and second membrane electrode assemblies. A positioning mechanism is used for positioning the first to third separators in alignment with each other. The positioning mechanism includes a first protruded portion and a second protruded portion. The first protruded portion protrudes from one surface of the second separator for positioning the first separator. The second protruded portion protrudes from the other surface of the second separator for positioning the third separator.

Abstract: A schema that enables a user to store data generated in an array-based computing environment in a scientific data file is disclosed. The schema may provide a mapping between the data types of the array-based computing environment and the data types of the scientific data file format. The schema may also apply when data is loaded from the scientific data file into the array-based computing environment. When the data is stored in the scientific data file, the file contains descriptions of the data as the variables of the array-based computing environment so that the data in the file can be loaded into the array-based computing environment without additional user input. The loaded variables (name and value) are identical to their state before the data is stored in the file.

Abstract: A method of saving portions of a simulation or execution engine image at various points in a simulation or execution is disclosed. The saving of the simulation or execution context in addition to the more traditional saving of the system state information enables the restoration of a simulation or execution that is capable of producing, in a subsequent simulation or execution of a block diagram continuing from the point of the saved simulation or execution, results that are identical to those of the initial simulation or execution. The ability to restore more than just system state variables enables a user to run multiple variations of a simulation from a given point without having to replicate the simulation up until the point of the saved initial simulation, and the ability to run multiple iterations of a block diagram execution in a non-simulation execution from a given point without having to replicate the execution of the block diagram up until that point.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward automatically integrating a late bound program language into an external environment. The external environment may be an early bound environment, a late bound environment or some combination thereof. Associated with the late bound program environment is a modular execution engine and an interface mechanism, wherein the interface mechanism is capable of expressing late bound semantics in a format compatible with the external environment.

Abstract: A water-jacket structure, for a water-cooled internal combustion engine, forms a cylinder block water jacket in a cylinder block so as to surround cylinder bores formed in the cylinder block to make cooling water flow through the cylinder block water jacket into a cylinder head water jacket formed in a cylinder head joined to the cylinder block. An upper connecting opening is formed in an upper part of the cylinder block water jacket so as to open into the cylinder head water jacket. In the cylinder block is formed a lower connecting passage opening into a lower part of the cylinder block water jacket, extending upward, and connecting to the cylinder head water jacket.

Heated air introduced from a heater core through a third passage is mixed with the cooled air in the mixer. Abstract: Methods for modulating immune responses are provided. The methods involve contacting an immune cell with an agent that modulates interaction of a compound comprising a Lewis antigen with the immune cell such that production by the immune cell of at least one cytokine that regulates development of a T helper type 1 or T helper type 2 response is modulated. In one embodiment, the agent is a stimulatory form of a compound comprising a Lewis antigen, such as a Lewisy, Lewisx or Lewisa oligosaccharide, or a derivative thereof. In another embodiment, the agent is an inhibitory form of a compound comprising a Lewis antigen, such as a Lewisy, Lewisx or Lewisa oligosaccharide, or a derivative thereof. In various embodiments, the immune cell is a human immune cell, a macrophage or a T cell. Pharmaceutical compositions for modulating immune responses are also provided.

Such an arrangement allows for modeling of complex models with interaction across multiple domains. In the present invention, the graphical language environment include components, represented by nodes, that have multiple parameterization functions associated with them, yet operate within a single graphical language environment. A change in one parameterization function associated with one or more nodes is propagated across all associated nodes within the domain.

In a method of detecting abnormalities in a fuel cell 1 comprising a plurality of unit cells that generate power by supplying hydrogen gas to an anode and supplying air to a cathode of each unit cell, the abnormality in the fuel cell 1 is detected based on the speed of the decrease in the cell voltages after stopping the fuel cell, i.e., after stopping the supply of the reacting gases to the fuel cell.

Abstract: Graphical programming or modeling environments in which a coding standard can be applied to graphical programs or models are disclosed. The present invention provides mechanisms for applying the coding standard to graphical programs/models in the graphical programming/modeling environments. The mechanisms may detect violations of the coding standard in the graphical model and report such violations to the users. The mechanisms may automatically correct the graphical model to remove the violations from the graphical model. The mechanisms may also automatically avoid the violations in the simulation and/or code generation of the graphical model.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for matching Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) signals to an Optical Transport Hierarchy (OTH). The apparatus real-time records a source address and input port information of GbE Ethernet frames in a memory, compares a destination address of the Ethernet frame which is a payload of a GFP frame with memory table information, searches an output port location of the GbE, and interreceives GbE frames and Generic Frame Procedure (GFP) frames by multiplexing/demultiplexing.

A plurality of first supply holes and a plurality of second supply holes extend through a channel unit of the anode side metal separator, and the channel unit connects a fuel gas supply passage and a fuel gas flow field. A fuel gas from the fuel gas supply passage flows into the first supply holes, and flows through an inlet connection channel. The fuel gas flows into the second supply holes connected to an end of the inlet connection channel. The fuel gas flows toward the side of the membrane electrode assembly, and then, the fuel gas is supplied to an anode.

Abstract: A gene relating to the regeneration ability of plants was successfully isolated and identified using linkage analysis. Furthermore, methods for breeding highly regenerative varieties, methods for transforming unculturable varieties, and methods for selecting transformed cells, wherein these methods utilize this gene, were also discovered. The present invention is useful in fields such as cultivar improvement and gene analysis that uses transformation methods.

Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas recirculation device for recirculating a part of exhaust gases to an intake system of the engine is disclosed. An estimated exhaust gas recirculation amount is calculated using a neural network to which at least one engine operating parameter indicative of an operating condition of the engine is input. The neural network outputs an estimated value of an amount of exhaust gases recirculated by the exhaust gas recirculation device. At least one engine control parameter for controlling the engine is calculated based on the estimated exhaust gas recirculation amount.
