Abstract: The invention relates to a measuring tape (10) comprising a stack of at least two layers, characterized in that it also includes a first layer, called support layer, based on composite material (11) and a layer, called top layer, (12) based on a polymer having a high glass transition temperature so that, in conditions of use, said polymer is in a glassy state to maintain the element in the wound or folded position. The invention also relates to a deployable structure including said measuring tape intended notably for space applications.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting a signal to a remote location. The method splits the signal into a multitude of signals that are transmitted down cables. The split signals are collected into a single signal at the receiving end at the remote location. An apparatus for splitting the signals and collecting the split signals is illustrated.
Abstract: A method and apparatus 10 for detecting the height of non-flat and transparent substrates using one or more reflectors 30 patterned on the surface of the substrate 40 and adjusting the position of the substrate in its holder based on measurement of the height of the reflectors in comparison to a calibration marker 60 on the holder and using appropriate spacers 50 with appropriate thickness to adjust the placement of the substrate at various locations to place the greatest portion of the substrate in an optimal focal range of the lithography system.

Abstract: A handle assembly for a stamp has a frame, a handle and a connector. The handle and the connector are mounted respectively on opposite sides of the frame and connect with each other. Therefore, the connection between the handle and the connector is firm and robust and the stamp has a durable handle assembly with increased use-life and reliability.
Abstract: A thermal anemometer or mass flow meter typically having temperature and flow velocity sensor elements is provided in which a thin film temperature sensor is used in the heated sensor of the fluid velocity sensor element of the system. At least one thin-film RTD sensor is held within a spacer or interface member and the spacer, optionally, received within a housing. The thermal anemometer is preferably constructed to offer sufficient precision and accuracy in its design to be suitable for sensitive scientific and industrial applications. This goal is achieved while using cost effective parts by employing a construction approach in which the spacer and RTD sensor(s) is secured in place by solder, braze or another compound flowed into place while inserting the spacer and/or sensor(s).
Abstract: An analog or digital circuit that senses both low and high input voltage and operates to disconnect both line and neutral electrical power connections to a protected device when abnormally low or high voltages are received from a single- or multi-phase power source, and reconnects the protected device when input power has stabilized. The sensing circuit and power supply is functional with voltages up to at least 240 Vac. The nominal 120 Vac circuit is designed to withstand a 6 kilovolt surge without damage. The apparatus does not disconnect the ground line during an out-of-tolerance voltage condition.
