Abstract: A system and method for assessing and monitoring student academic achievement levels for purposes of identifying students at risk for not meeting minimum academic standards as measured using standardized tests, and for tracking or monitoring student academic performance levels. The system and method of the present invention comprises producing a pool of curriculum-independent General Outcome Measures (GOMs) of substantially equal difficulty for a particular grade level, and further comprises a system and method of assessing and monitoring students in that grade level using the pool of GOMs for the purpose of identifying those students at risk for not meeting minimum standardized test target scores and for tracking or monitoring student academic performance levels.

The main extension portion is electrically coupled at its first end to the host vehicle's electrical system. The utility extension portion electrically connects at one end to the second end of the main extension portion and is adapted to electrically couple at its other end to an electric load. The utility extension portion may include first and second segments, wherein the second segment includes a plurality of interchangeable adaptor sections each having a different connector for electrically coupling with the electric load.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a digital tram gauge assembly having an extendible elongate tram bar having a first height rod at a first end and a second height rod at a second end. A digital measuring device is positionable about the tram bar and is capable of digitally sensing, displaying and wirelessly transmitting measurement data from the digital tram gauge. The digital measuring device further includes a digital level sensor that functions as a digital level comparator to indicate whether the tram gauge assembly is oriented substantially parallel to a user-defined reference datum plane.

Abstract: The present invention provides a quick-connect pressure test apparatus. The apparatus includes a test plug having a set of sealing rings extending around a sidewall thereof for fitting within an inner diameter of a pipe. The test plug has a first end having a receiving cavity in communication with a central lumen that extends through the test plug to a second end thereof. A retainer is configured to sit on an end section of the pipe, having a plurality of retaining arms flexibly extending about an outer diameter of the pipe. A slide compressor is configured to receive the retainer within a cylindrical cavity, urging the retaining arms to frictionally engage the outer diameter of the pipe and maintain the test plug within the pipe. A plug handle or, alternatively, a pressure coupler may be received in the receiving cavity of the test plug.
Abstract: An adjustable singulating brush assembly for a seed meter and method to improve seed singulation of a seed meter. The assembly includes a carrier and a brush selectively adjustably moveable with respect to the carrier. The method to improve seed singulation of a seed meter includes disposing a selectively adjustable moveable brush along a path of travel of the seed selection mechanism of the seed meter between the meter's seed reservoir and said seed discharge opening and selectively moving the adjustably moveable brush with respect to the path of travel of the seed selection mechanism such that the selected seeds meet the preselected brush position to affect removal of extra seeds from the seed selection mechanism so singular seeds are sequentially discharged through said seed discharge opening.

Abstract: A seed tube for an agricultural planter having a rearwardly curving forward wall, a rearwardly curving rearward wall and opposing side walls defining a seed passageway which curves rearwardly from an upper ingress end toward a lower egress end. An aperture is disposed in the forward wall adapted to receive a seed sensor element. An overlap extends over a portion of the aperture. The tube has an upper portion and a lower portion. The forward wall of the lower portion disposed forwardly of the forward wall of the upper portion, such that an interior surface of the forward wall of the lower portion is disposed forwardly of an interior surface of the forward wall of the upper portion.
Abstract: A foldable tool kit having a body constructed of a single elongate member to which is secured a plurality of individual tools pivotally movable about a pin between a folded position and a working position.
Abstract: A portable workstation that is collapsible into a carrying case. The portable workstation comprises an articulating support structure and an enclosure structure that cooperate between an open usable position and a closed carrying case position. In the closed carrying case position, the articulating support structure is substantially enclosed within the enclosure structure.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of testing seed singulation of a seed meter. The apparatus includes a frame which supports the seed meter to be tested above a track within which is disposed a continuous flighted belt. A drive system is provided to drive the flighted belt and the seed meter at a preselected speed and seed discharge rate, respectively. In operation, seeds supplied to the seed meter are dispensed by the seed meter in its normal mode of operation onto the moving flighted belt. A sensor disposed along the path of travel of the belt detects the seeds within each passing cell. A computer records and registers data relevant to the singulation accuracy and efficiency of the seed meter.

Abstract: Particle analyzing systems with fluorescence detection are disclosed, primarily in connection with particle sizing based on scattered light intensity or time-of-flight measurement. In one system, emission of fluorescence is used as a threshold for selecting particles for further analysis, e.g. mass spectrometry. In another embodiment, laser beams arranged sequentially along an aerosol path are selectively switched on and off, to increase the useful life of components, and diminish the potential for interference among several signals. Other embodiments advantageously employ color discrimination in aerodynamic particle sizing, single detectors positioned to sense both scattered and emitted fluorescent radiation, and laser beam amplitude or gain control to enhance the range of fluorescence detection.

Abstract: A prosthesis for transluminal implantation consists of a flexible tubular three-dimensionally braided structure of metal or polymeric monofilaments, and polymeric multifilament yarns. The prosthesis can be elastically deformed to reduce its diameter through axial elongation. The monofilaments and multifilament yarns are arranged in axially spaced apart helices, concentric on a common central axis of the prosthesis. The monofilaments are selectively shaped before their interbraiding with the multifilament yarns, either by an age-hardening or other heat-setting stage, or a cold-working stage that controllably plastically deforms the strands. The shaped structural strands cooperate to impart to the prosthesis its nominal shape and resilience. The textile strands cooperate to provide one or more layers of sheeting that reduce permeability and thereby enhance the utility of the prosthesis as a vascular graft.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for charging or adjusting the charge of gas-borne particles into a defined charge distribution under utilization of corona discharge in the aerosol space. In addition to an appropriate geometry of the charger and the electrodes, the voltage waveform and the voltage regulation are of great significance for the result. The application further relates to a method for operating the device.
Abstract: A container for vending single servings of beverages and snack foods, includes a liquid-impermeable wall providing a compartment for the beverage. An inside section of the wall defines a recess isolated from the compartment and open to the container exterior at the bottom. Near the upper end of the recess, the inside wall diameter is decreased in steps, to frictionally engage a leading edge region of a snack-food cartridge or other product inserted into the recess. A pull tab between the cartridge and the recess is accessible to remove the cartridge. Alternatively, a cartridge wrapper can be shaped to provide a pull tab component. The preferred snack-food cartridge includes a compliant thin film or foil wrapping surrounding a stack of cookies, a bar, or other snack food. In alternative arrangements, the container has a vertical slot for viewing a cartridge inserted into the recess, or is formed with horizontal top and bottom wall sections.
