  • Patent number: 7581662
Abstract: A multi-compartment spray dispenser with common pressurizer includes a single container divided into four sub-chambers, each of which is separate from each of the other sub-chambers. Each sub-chamber has its own separate outlet. A pumping mechanism is common to the sub-chambers and causes pressurization of the sub-chambers simultaneously. When it is desired to dispense liquid from one of the sub-chambers, a hose connection is coupled to the hose connection on the container, thereby opening a flow path for liquid through a hose connected to the hose connector and a nozzle having an actuating valve. Should flow of liquid slow, it is easy to re-pressurize the sub-chamber through operation of the pumping mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7506387
Abstract: A method for transferring a patient from a first surface to a second surface includes providing a winch having a drive system and two reels operatively coupled to the drive system. Two straps are attached to each of the reels. Two wedge cushions are provided for pushing the patient in the direction of the winch from the first surface to the second surface. The wedge cushions have a cover, an insert and an attachment mechanism for attaching them to the straps. The wedge cushions are thinner at the attachment mechanism end. The first of the two straps is passed beneath the patient and is attached to a first wedge cushion. The second of the two straps is passed beneath the patient and is attached to another wedge cushion. The reels are rotated, thereby pulling the two straps until each of the wedge cushions wedge firmly beneath the patient. Nest, the reels are rotated together, thereby pulling the two straps until the patient is transferred from the first surface to the second surface.

  • Patent number: 7484665
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for reading, while using optical interference, a barcode that extends into the depth of a substrate. The barcode is represented by an area with marks in the substrate that is partially transparent to electromagnetic radiation. The inventive method comprises the steps of irradiating the substrate with short coherence length light from a broad-band light source, dividing the light up into reference light and measuring light, returning the reference light and the measuring light back-scattered or reflected in the marked area to an analytical unit, determining the reflectance or the reflectivity of the substrate for all layer depths in the marked area from the interference of the reference light and the measuring light and interpreting the result as a barcode.

  • Patent number: 7451852
Abstract: An interlock system for measuring the sobriety of a potential motorized apparatus operator is coupled to the starting mechanism of said motorized apparatus. The interlock system includes a microprocessor controlled handset, base unit and photographic device. The photographic device facilitates the identification process of the person taking the test by taking at least two consecutive pictures, one before and one during the test, which makes circumvention of the test a recordable event for later viewing by a monitoring person or facility. Further, rolling re-tests are used in the event the motorized apparatus was allowed to engage and operate and to once again verify the blood alcohol content of the person operating said apparatus and verify their identity during said test with said photographic device.

  • Patent number: 7434858
Abstract: A rack for transporting planar sheets of material includes permanent members made of a hollow tube that is perpendicularly affixed to the bed bottom at a point adjacent to one of the bed side walls. The permanent members are also affixed to the horizontal flange by a clamp. Also provided are vertical, removable members each having two vertical posts held in a parallel relationship to each other by one or more spacers affixed near a top portion. The two vertical posts are spaced far enough apart as to straddle one of the bed side walls. The two vertical posts include a shorter inboard post and a longer outboard post. The shorter inboard post fits snuggly within one of the permanent members and the longer outboard post has a foot extending outwardly and away from the vehicle at a bottom end distal from the spacers.

  • Patent number: 7382596
Abstract: The method and apparatus includes an uninterruptible power supply along with its rechargeable battery and a plurality of video protection circuits all within a common chassis. The video protection circuits are configured to protect the digital video recorder from surges introduced at the video cameras or cabling. The uninterruptible power supply is configured to provide power to the digital video recorder should a line voltage power failure occur and may also include a surge protector to further protect the digital video recorder from power line surges. Since all components are housed substantially within a common chassis, a method of isolating the video protection circuit and associated connectors from the radio frequency noise within the common chassis is described as well as a method and apparatus to allow removal and replacement of the video protection circuits should a power surge destroy them.

  • Patent number: 7305789
Abstract: A low profile, reversible weapon telescope mount is provided. The mount has a longitudinal planar top support having a series of ridges and recesses disposed thereupon in an alternating and parallel orientation to that of a central axis of the support. Attached to opposed peripheral side edges of the support are four downwardly depending legs. The support and legs form a channel of the scope mount that surrounds a top end of a weapon receiver, such as a rifle, such that a bottom surface of the top planar support rests upon a top surface of the receiver. Each leg has a movable guide finger supported in a vertical channel formed in each leg. Each guide finger has an inwardly extending ledge member for grabbing outwardly extending flanges of the rifle receiver. The finger is guided up and down by an pin inserted through the leg and finger when a screw, acting upon the finger is tightened or loosened.

  • Patent number: 7219849
Abstract: An improved liquid impingement nozzle having two openings along an axis, spaced apart and angled towards each other. A non-atomized liquid stream of the same liquid is directed through each opening by a pressurized source. The two streams meet at an apex distal from the front of the nozzle to create a flat triangular pattern of liquid. The inner shape of the nozzle is substantially conical reducing turbulence and dead zones within the nozzle, thereby reducing build-up and clogging.
