  • Patent number: 4516206
Abstract: An automated seismic processing system and method are disclosed, including an array of CMOS microprocessors for unattended battery-powered processing of a multi-station network. According to a characterizing feature of the invention, each channel of the network is independently operable to automatically detect, measure times and amplitudes, and compute and fit Fast Fourier transforms (FFT's) for both P- and S- waves on analog seismic data after it has been sampled at a given rate. The measured parameter data from each channel are then reviewed for event validity by a central controlling microprocessor and if determined by preset criteria to constitute a valid event, the parameter data are passed to an analysis computer for calculation of hypocenter location, running b-values, source parameters, event count, P- wave polarities, moment-tensor inversion, and Vp/Vs ratios.

  • Patent number: 4512443
Abstract: A lift door control apparatus including a door locking mechanism and a release mechanism for releasing the door locking mechanism. The release mechanism comprises a release arm coupled to the shaft of an electromagnetic actuator. When the actuator is de-energized it is held in a first position in which the arm is engageable with a floor ramp when the lift car is at a floor. When the actuator is energized the arm is held in a second position in which it is held out of engagement with any floor ramp. Two finger members are mounted on the actuator shaft and arranged to be moved towards one another at their mounted ends so that their free ends engage one another and move outwardly away from the shaft when the actuator is de-energized and the release arm engages a floor ramp. This movement provides a release impetus to the door locking mechanism. The door locking mechanism may include a spring for mechanically operating the lift door operating mechanism in the event of power failure.

  • Patent number: 4497386
Abstract: Weighing apparatus of the short-stroke type is disclosed including a resilient parallel guidance arrangement (3) connecting a load-receiving member (2) for vertical movement relative to a console member (1), characterized by the provision of a pivotally movable lever (14) connected between the console and load-receiving members and including a resilient arm (18) for transmitting to the measuring device--for example, a vibratory string (23)--a force corresponding with the load applied to the load-receiving member. • Patent number: 4491775
Abstract: A motor operated valve, typically a butterfly valve driven by a synchronous electric motor (16), is provided with a torque sensing arrangement wherein an cyclic electrical signal representative of the rotational speed of the motor is produced by magnets (22) on disc driven by the motor and Hall effect switches (23,24). The frequency of this signal is compared in a circuit (43) with the frequency of current supplied to the motor to provide an indication of motor torque. Switches (46,47) define preset torque limits for the valve. If the limits are exceeded, a signal is fed to control logic (41) which operates switches (18) to control the supply current to the motor. The speed signal from the Hall effect switches is also fed to a counter (31) to develop a count representative of movement of the valve. The output of counter (31) is compared with preset valves defined by switch circuits (37,38) to define limits of travel for the valve.

  • Patent number: 4490899
Abstract: The two coupling member supporting bands are led between a guide block and two clamping members in a vertical position and having the coupling members located at the lower side. The coupling members are aligned with the path of cutting members by means of a countersupport having two gripping members and positioned relative to the cutting members by means of a scanning apparatus. The clamping members clamp the supporting bands as well as the coupling members which are to be removed. After the coupling members have been clamped by the clamping members, the cutting members sever the coupling members at their foot section and thereafter the cut coupling members are pulled off the supporting band by means of the countersupport and the clamping members. This allows an impeccable cutting of the coupling members and that all cut coupling members can be drawn off the supporting band.
