Abstract: A laminate type light emitting diode device having excellent heat radiation performance and high output capability is provided. A plurality of reflection type light emitting diode units 10 each of which includes a light emitting diode 2 and a dichroic mirror 3 in a hollow metal holder case 5 having high thermal conductivity so as to face each other are joined to one another through joint members 4 formed of electrical insulating material, thereby constructing the laminate type light emitting diode device 100.
Abstract: A hands-free fastening mechanism for releasably securing a user's foot to footwear is disclosed. The fastening mechanism comprises at least one pivotable strap which is coupled to a hinge mechanism which, in turn, is secured to the footwear. The hinge mechanism allows the strap to pivot between an open and a closed position. The strap is further coupled to a lever which is engageable by a user's foot so as to cause the strap to move from the open position to the closed position. When the strap moves to the closed position, a catch will engage, thereby securing the user's foot within the footwear. The footwear may then be removed by using the other foot to apply pressure to a protruding member and then withdrawing the secured foot such that the catch is disengaged and the foot is released.
Abstract: A portable entertainment system for use with a vehicle, such as a bicycle, that amplifies a signal from a portable media device docked therein, and includes a substantially cylindrical housing unit having a speaker and a portable media device docking unit, the speaker being communicably coupled with the docking unit and outputting the amplified signal, a remote control unit controlling a level of the amplified signal output by the speaker and controlling functions of the portable media device docked in the docking unit, and an impact resistant suspension mounting bracket stably securing the housing unit to a frame of the vehicle.
Abstract: There is provided an oil-impregnated sintered bearing which enable to prevent oil leakage from an outer peripheral surface of an bearing body. The oil-impregnated sintered bearing includes a bearing body which is made of a porous sintered alloy containing vacancies and has a bearing hole in which a rotary shaft can be inserted, wherein the vacancies opened on an outer peripheral surface of the bearing body are crushed. The vacancies may be crushed in the state of a green compact, or in the state of a sintered alloy after sintering the green compact. Consequently, the oil leakage from the outer peripheral surface of the bearing can be prevented, and oil pressure in the bearing hole can be preserved.

Abstract: A dispenser places transdermal devices and packaged transdermal devices in an electrically charged state. The dispenser is particularly suitable for transdermal devices that include electrically actuatable components, such as transdermal, drug-delivery patches that include microporator circuitry. A controller can be operatively coupled to a power circuit of the dispenser to control the times that transdermal devices can be charged, thereby providing a measure of control over use and misuse of the transdermal devices to be dispensed.

The air freshener includes a first fan unit disposed within the first compartment and a second fan unit disposed within the second compartment. The air freshener also includes a first fragrance emitting substance disposed within the first compartment proximate the first fan unit and a second fragrance emitting substance disposed within the second compartment proximate the second fan unit. Abstract: This method of upgrading a biomass comprises: an upgrading step for performing upgrading treatment of a cellulose based biomass with an oxygen/carbon atomic ratio of at least 0.5, in presence of water and under a pressure of at least saturated water vapor pressure, and reducing said oxygen/carbon atomic ratio of said biomass to no more than 0.38, and a separation step for separating an upgraded reactant obtained from said upgrading step into a solid component and a liquid component.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a diamond sintered compact having good conductivity together with the characteristics, such as hardness, thermal conductivity, thermal resistance, chemical stability, almost equal to those of a natural diamond. A boron-doped diamond sintered compact having good conductivity and high thermal resistance is produced by a sintering process, in which 90 to 99.9 wt. % of a boron-doped diamond powder and 0.1 to 10% wt. % of a powder comprising, one or more of carbonates including Mg, Ca, Sr or Ba, and/or one or more of composite carbonates composed by two or more of these elements, as a bonding phase component, are sintered together under Ht/HP conditions, and the bonding phase component melts and then fills into the space between the boron-doped diamond powder particles.
Abstract: Disclosed is a power module having improved joint reliability. Specifically disclosed is a power module including a power module substrate wherein a circuit layer is brazed on the front surface of a ceramic substrate, a metal layer is brazed on the rear surface of the ceramic substrate and a semiconductor chip is soldered to the circuit layer. The metal layer is composed of an Al alloy having an average purity of not less than 98.0 wt. % but not more than 99.9 wt. % as a whole. In this metal layer, the Fe concentration in the side of a surface brazed with the ceramic substrate is set at less than 0.1 wt. %, and the Fe concentration in the side of a surface opposite to the brazed surface is set at not less than 0.1 wt. %.

Abstract: An effective thread number in the thread section which is disposed on the mouth section of the bottle is formed to be 2.2. That is, the thread section is formed such that the thread section 13 should serve effectively in the mouth section such that an interval between a start position and an end position should be 2.0 to 2.5. In the bottle can member 11 which has such a thread section, an outer diameter of the thread section which is formed on the mouth section is 28 to 38 mm. Also, the thickness of the mouth section is 0.25 to 0.4 mm. The thread section which has the effective thread number 2.0 to 2.5 is formed by eight-thread per inch pitch. By doing this, it is possible to put the cap desirably.
Abstract: An automated medication preparation system for preparing a prescribed dosage of medication in a drug delivery device. The system includes a plurality of stations for receiving, handling and processing the drug delivery device so that the prescribed dosage of medication is delivered to the drug delivery device and a transporting device that receives and holds more than one drug delivery device and moves the drug delivery devices in a controlled manner from one station to another station. The system is configured so that two or more separate drug delivery devices can be acted upon at the same time.
