  • Patent number: 4682103
Abstract: This invention relates to a circuitry for easily and quickly testing the output current capacity of a generator by connecting the generator as a controlled current source, applying to the generator's field terminals an independent voltage proportioned relative to the rated output voltage of the generator, connecting an ammeter across the output terminals of the generator, the ammeter reading being calibrated to be equal to the reciprocal of the proportioned voltage, thus providing a direct reading of output current capacity representing the full output capacity of the generator. This circuitry greatly reduces the size and cost of a holding fixture and related components to make possible a low cost generator tester.

  • Patent number: 4654575
Abstract: A ripple current component detecting circuitry embodied in the terminal of a cable connecting a battery charger with a lead acid storage battery to improve safety of use by preventing the indication of a correct polarity of connection where a charger is energized before connection is made with the battery when in fact such an indication may be incorrect, the prevention of such an indication being accomplished by the utilization of the AC ripple component in the charger output. The circuitry detects the ripple and with its use overrides what would otherwise be given as a misleading indication of polarity.

  • Patent number: 4649594
Abstract: A cleaning head for a surface covering material cleaning machine made up as a nozzle embodying a pair of chambers separated by a transverse plate member, one chamber being a cleaning chamber having a jet stream of cleaning fluid with an incoming air stream comingling therewith to form an aerated stream, the chambers flaring forwardly being coextensive at their forward ends and the cleaning chamber decreasing in height forwardly, the chamber communicating at the free end of the plate member, the end portion of the plate member having a terminal portion the width of said chambers whereby the other chamber forming a suction chamber draws upon the cleaning fluid causing it to accelerate substantially horizontally in engaging the surface portion and/or passing through the body portion of the material being cleaned and then being withdrawn upwardly about the end of the plate member to pass into and become discharged through the suction chamber.

  • Patent number: 4647834
Abstract: This invention relates to a battery charger which includes a timer which becomes energized upon a battery approaching a fully charged condition and the timer then commences a preset timed equalization or finishing charge which brings each cell of the battery into a 100% fully charged condition. The battery may remain connected to the charger which includes a restart monitor which causes the charger to automatically re-charge the battery to a fully charged condition when it senses that the battery is losing its charge.

  • Patent number: 4641625
Abstract: A fuel control system for an internal combustion engine fuelled by a gaseous fuel and a liquid fuel, comprises liquid fuel flow rate control means, and gaseous fuel flow rate control means. The liquid fuel and gaseous fuel flow rate control means are adapted to control the relative proportions of each fuel supplied to the engine, and permit the relative proportion of liquid fuel to be varied in the range having an upper limit of substantially 100%. The gaseous fuel flow rate control means includes gaseous fuel flow rate determination means which is responsive to engine variables, such as engine speed and throttle position to determine from said variables a desired gaseous fuel flow rate. The gaseous fuel flow rate determination means is adapted to generate a signal indicative of said desired gaseous fuel flow rate. This signal can be used to actuate a valve controlling the gaseous fuel flow rate.
