  • Patent number: 4698117
Abstract: An apparatus for installing table skirts to the perimeter of a banquet table having a fastener with an adhesive pile material substantially similar to an adhesive pile material on a top underside of the table skirt. The table skirt is wound in an upward direction on a hanging device having strips of adhesive pile material substantially similar to both the adhesive pile material of the fastener and of the table skirt. Once the table skirt is hung on the hanging device, the device is placed on a swivel hook attached to a rod mounted on a moveable rack in a manner so that the hook turns as the table skirt is unwound from the hanging device and the adhesive pile material of the table skirt and fasteners are pressed together as an installer moves around the perimeter of the table. To disassemble the table skirt from the table, the procedure is reversed by choosing a free end of the table skirt and pulling it apart from the adhesive material of the fastener and attaching it to the hanging device.

  • Patent number: 4682841
Abstract: A light radiation concentrator comprises a frame and at least two radiation concentrating facets secured therein, the facets being made in the form of holograms. The structure of the diffraction gratings of the holograms is such that the concentrating facets have a common focal spot.A method of making a light radiation concentrator consists in using light-sensitive objects, the number of which is equal to the number of the concentrating facets. The light-sensitive objects are secured in the concentrator frame and an interference pattern produced by a collimated reference radiation beam and an object radiation beam diverging from the focal spot is recorded in a sequence on each of the light-sensitive objects. The recording is effected by causing the collimated reference beam to move in parallel with itself and by directing the object beam from the focal spot to the respective light-sensitive object.

  • Patent number: 4682606
Abstract: A method and apparatus for localizing and excising masses which are not palpable in human tissue. A surgical needle is inserted into a located mass and encircled by a cork screw device which is twisted around the mass until the tip of the worm is just beyond the furthest side of the mass from the operator. Subsequently, the handle of the cork screw device is removed and replaced with a guiding extension rod which is used to direct the surgeon as to the depth of the mass in the patient's tissue. A cutting instrument having an inner cylinder and a hollow outer barrel attached to cutting jaws with knife edges is inserted over one end of the extension rod, with the jaws in an open position, and twisted around the worm of the cork screw into the patient's tissue. The cutting jaws of the instrument are opened by pushing finger flanges away from the surgeon causing the cutting jaws to pivot outwardly into an open position.

  • Patent number: 4674165
Abstract: The inventive method produces round parts consisting of profiled metal sections from a straight, profiled extruded section forming a wheel-like shape having butt ends joined together by welding. Bending the straight section into a round part is accomplished by first adjustably prestressing the straight section and then subjecting the prestressed section to a rolling bending operation. For this purpose, the section to be bent is wound either from one side or from both sides around the outside diameter of coordinated rolling dies the rotating rolling dies being able to additionally perform a translatory motion in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the section. The resulting wheel rim has the rim pan integrally joined to the rim ring.
