  • Patent number: 4184091
Abstract: An electric machine stator comprises a core with slots for placing winding bars therein. The winding bars are locked within the slots by pairs of oppositely directed wedges. To eliminate the possibility of an axial displacement of the wedges and, as a result, a looseness of wedging the winding bars, the peripheral portions of extreme wedges adjoining the winding bars protrude outside the stator core and have cross slots with a band located therein which also surround the stator winding bars.

  • Patent number: 4182531
Abstract: Drum handling apparatus having a generally vertically oriented main frame member attachable to a standard tractor three-point lifting hitch. A base plate slidable under the drum to be lifted is attached in substantially transverse relation to the lower end of the main frame member, and a latch means engageable with the upper rim of the drum is pivotally attached to the upper end of the main frame member. Rearward movement of the apparatus causes the latch means to engage the upper rim of the drum and the drum is tilted rearwardly by contact with the frame member, allowing the base plate to be slipped beneath it. Operation of the tractor hitch elevates the drum handling apparatus to engage and lift the drum upon the base plate.

  • Patent number: 4178019
Abstract: A date reminder calendar includes a plurality of stacked sheets each representing a different date. Each of the sheets is provided with an elongate marking area which is adapted to be marked in a manner readily distinguishable from similar areas which have not been marked. Each sheet is formed with a plurality of elongate parallel openings or slots which are successively smaller in relation to the marking area and each of which is aligned with another marking area on another sheet. By stepping or displacing the marking areas from each other on successive sheets of a group of sheets to avoid overlap, a marked area becomes larger and more prominent with the removal of each successive sheet to thereby increasingly signify the imminency of the date and the reminder associated with the marked area.

  • Patent number: 4175029
Abstract: The proposed apparatus is used to apply thin films of metals semiconductor and dielectric materials onto the surfaces of different articles. The apparatus comprises a vacuum chamber accommodating a discharge chamber with at least a single slit in one of its walls. An electric field produces a plasma flow between an anode and a hot cathode arranged in the discharge chamber so that the hot cathode is located opposite the slit of the discharge chamber. A magnetic system produces a magnetic field extending through the hot cathode and slit perpendicular to the electric field between the anode and hot cathode. A target and an article holder are arranged on opposite sides of the plasma flow leaving the slit.As a negative potential is applied to the target, plasma ions sputter the material of the target, which is deposited on the article, producing a thin film on its surface.
