Abstract: There is disclosed a process for bonding a rigid thermoplastic vessel to a flexible thermoset elastomeric conduit using electromagnetic bonding techniques wherein the flexible thermoset elastomeric conduit is configured to provide close fitting relationship under compressive pressure forces to a cooperating element of the rigid thermoplastic vessel between which is positioned an electromagnetic bonding adhesive prior to applying an electromagnetic force.
Abstract: There is disclosed a pulverizing apparatus having paired interconnecting cylindrical chambers wherein each chamber is provided with a rotatable shaft having a plurality of disc sets mounted thereon and wherein each disc set is provided with pivotally mounted thrust guides wherein thrust guide mounted on disc sets positioned in initial stages are provided with plate members to facilitate circulation of large particles. Abstract: There is disclosed a portable assembly for treating hazardous waste water having a plurality of paired filter units having filter mediums and operated at high filter rates to minimize solids build up wherein solids are caused to be smashed and broken by shear forces and wherein chemicals are sequentially added to facilitate solids reduction, to oxidize organic compounds and to precipitate dissolved solids and wherein the process stream is subjected to ultraviolet light to reduce organic loading and downstream ultra filtration units to further reduce solids followed by reverse osmosis and/or ionization treatment.
Abstract: Described is a stamping roller (10) intended for a stamping apparatus, which roller has a central carrier roller (12) and stamping punch portions (24) which are spaced from each other in the peripheral direction, wherein fixed to the carrier roller is at least one punch ring whose two axially mutually spaced edge portions are designed with spacer rings (26) for the defined contact of at least one associated backing roller (28), and the punch ring (20) is designed with the stamping punch portions (24) between the two spacer rings (26). Abstract: An improved method for the manufacture of a compact brush guide holder assembly which is commonly found on machines in which electricity is to be transferred between an electrically conductive brush element as it moves and makes contact with a rotatable conductor such as a commutator. The brush holder assembly has an open body guiding channel, or chamber, for supporting the electrically conductive brush element which receives compressed tension from a fixed non-removable constant force spring which is composed of a beam uncoiled section in addition to a coiled section having fixed mounted Teflon bushings that are free to ride and float horizontally and vertically on mounting post that pass through its center. Upon compression, the contour structural integrity and memory characteristics of the constant force spring are maintained as it self adjusts to the dynamic loads and tension requirements of a rush as it biases a commutator.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method and apparatus for harvesting tissue using a cannula having a diameter of from 0.5 to 4.0 mm and of a length of from 25 to 20 cm to access by minimally invasive techniques a host to withdraw autogenous tissue processed to remove loose fat and/or fragmented tissue. Thereafter, the resulting tissue substrate is morcellated to form particulate tissue of a particle size of from 1 to 200 .mu.m. The particulate material is thence passed through screens having opening sizes of from 1 to 100 .mu.m to form a material of a size for introduction into a syringe of from 16 to 30 gauge for implantation in the host. The processed tissue may be admixed with extenders, gelling agents and the like.

Abstract: Combustion is used as a source of heat to remove polluting volatiles from contaminated groundwater and subsurface soil. A burner assembly is placed in a well, either in or out of an aquifer, to produce steam and/or hot air and/or hot water which drives off the volatile contaminants which are collected through separate wells or vents depending upon the site. The combustion product gases are vented to atmosphere. Key elements are the addition of heat as close to the depth of the contaminated region as possible, transfer of heat through the aquifer and/or ground through the flow of steam and/or hot air and/or hot water to regions affected by the contaminants, and by drawing the flow to other well sites by which the contaminants are removed by pumping and subsequent treatment. Some of the contaminants are thermally destroyed.

Abstract: There is disclosed a display system to be attached to a head of the user or to a helmet to be positioned on the head of the user. The display system comprises an image intensifier unit having an input for receiving an image and an output for retransmitting the image with enhanced intensity and within a predetermined first frequency band. The display system further comprises an eye piece composed of a first and second transparent reflecting element having angle- and frequency-dependent reflectants and transmittance properties wherein such properties in combination with the first frequency band result in an intensified image emerging via the eye piece.
