  • Patent number: 5736745
Abstract: A sample placement portion is fixed to a frame. A stage and a cylindrical piezoelectric element are attached to the sample placement portion, and on this piezoelectric element, a sample (i.e., a semiconductor wafer) is positioned. A light collecting portion and a light receiving portion integrated together are attached slidably to frame for detecting the number and locations of contaminants. In addition, an analyzing portion for analyzing the types of the contaminants is slidably attached to the frame. Accordingly, it is made possible to reduce the size of the apparatus and to perform a highly reliable evaluation of the contamination.

  • Patent number: 5736575
Abstract: An excitement accelerating agent was produced by incorporating a very small amount of theanine as an effective compoment in a range that shows the excitement accelerating action. The very small amount in a range that shows the excitement accelerating action means a range containing theanine in an amount of from about 0.17 mg/kg to 0.85 mg/kg, preferably from about 0.17 mg/kg to 0.34 mg/kg based on the weight as an injection agent, and in an amount of from about 0.20 mg/kg to 2.8 mg/kg, preferably from about 0.50 mg/kg to 2.5 mg/kg (0.17/0.338-0.85/0.338) as an oral agent. A safe and effective excitement accelerating agent can be provided by utilizing sufficiently the excitement accelerating action given by theanine, and if it is regularly taken for a long period of time, it is also effective as a nutritious tonic, an energy-increasing agent, and a stamina-sustaining agent.

  • Patent number: 5737623
Abstract: A parallelization process for complex-topology applications is based on an understanding of topology and includes two separate parts: i) an automatic, topology-based data distribution method and ii) a program transformation method. Together these methods eliminate the need for user determined data distribution specification in data layout languages such as High Performance Fortran. The topology-based data distribution method uses both problem and machine topology to determine a data-to-processor mapping for composite grid applications. The program transformation method incorporates statements in the user program to read and implement the data layout determined by the distribution method and to eliminate the need for user development and support of subroutine clones for data distribution.

  • Patent number: 5734953
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having independently detachable toner supply units and image processing units. The toner supply unit includes a toner supply port, a first shutter controlling a toner flow path of the toner supply port, and a first guide rib formed on the toner supply unit. The image processing unit includes a toner acceptance port, a second shutter controlling the toner flow path of the toner acceptance port, and a second guide rib formed on the image processing unit. The first and second guide ribs engage the second and first shutters when the toner supply unit and the image processing unit are both attached to the main body of the image forming apparatus. If either the toner supply unit or the image processing unit is removed from the main body, the guide ribs disengage the corresponding shutters, causing the shutters to close the toner flow paths. Reassembling the toner supply unit with the image processing unit engages the shutters to reopen the toner flow paths.

  • Patent number: 5732855
Abstract: A spray head is intended for attachment to a spray can having a pressure container, a control valve and an outflow channel for dispensing material, such as shaving gel, which expands after dispensing. The spray head has a flow channel that receives a biassed valve near the spray head outlet. A material expansion absorption arrangement is in communication with flow channel and interacts with a control part that controls spray head operation. The threshold pressure of the biassed valve is higher than the threshold pressure needed for operating the material expansion absorption arrangement. After dispensing a quantity of material, the material expansion absorption arrangement can absorb expanding residual material so that on subsequent use, the material expansion absorption arrangement is returned first to the initial position before the control valve of the spray can is opened. A spray can with such a spray head is also described.
