  • Patent number: 5789703
Abstract: A device for coupling a fly back transformer (FBT) focus unit is disclosed. A protecting wall is installed on the coupling portion of the FBT case in such a manner that the protecting wall should be positioned adjacently to and should keep a gap toward the ceramic circuit board which is attached to the back face of the focus unit in an exposed state. That is, a protecting wall (6) is formed integrally with the FBT case (5) and on the coupling portion 4 for the focus unit (2) and adjacently to the ceramic circuit board (1), so that a tiny space (S) would be formed. A small amount of a hard insulating resin (3) is filled into the tiny space S between the protecting wall and the ceramic circuit board (1), and the resin (3) is made to be cured, so that internal coils of the FBT case (5) would be insulated. Therefore, an injection of a soft insulating resin for preventing a damage to the ceramic circuit board becomes needless.

  • Patent number: 5787191
Abstract: A wiring pattern inspection apparatus for inspecting an abnormality of a wiring pattern formed on a printed circuit board, which is equipped with an optical image pickup device for optically illuminating a surface of the printed circuit board including the wiring pattern to photoelectrically convert optical information of the printed circuit board surface due to the optical illumination into a grey level image. This grey level image is converted into a bi-level image which separates the grey level image into the wiring pattern side and a background side of the wiring pattern. Thereafter, the bi-level image is once contracted by a first size and then expanded by a second size so as to eliminate a micro conductive portion left on the printed circuit board or a micro pinhole which can be disregarded in the abnormality inspection, thereby preventing the excessive detection.

  • Patent number: 5784623
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing latches that protect resources is provided. A group of resources is divided into a plurality of subgroups of resources. Each subgroup of resources is provided its own latch. The latches for the subgroups of resources are ordered. When a process requires access to more than one subgroup of resources, the process acquires the latches for the subgroups in an order that is based on the order of the latches. By using these access techniques, processes may simultaneously access different subgroups of the group of resources without the possibility of deadlock. A process that requires all subgroups within a group of resources acquires a parent latch associated with the group of resources. The process then acquires the latches for each subgroup in a sequence that is based upon the order of the latches. As the process acquires each new latch, the process updates a current position value in the parent latch to indicate the most-recently-acquired latch.
