  • Patent number: 5622499
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a dental abutment to assure a desired in situ alignment of the dental abutment with a dental implant includes the steps of, firstly, providing a workpiece having a threaded recess corresponding to the length, diameter, pitch and material density of a coupling surface of an implant to be used in a dental procedure, this step followed by the step of rotating into the recess a coupling surface of the dental abutment to be secured in situ to the dental implant. The third step of the inventive method includes the tightening of the coupling surface of the abutment into the recess to a torque in the range of about 25 to about 35 newtons per centimeter which step is followed by the step of providing a radial surface of reference upon, and common to, both a non-threaded area of the abutment and a location proximal to the mouth of the recess of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 5620220
Abstract: A sanitary waste collector includes two substantially planar braces, each having an interior and exterior face, each having a grippable opening, and each pivotally attached to a hinge and an assembly for continuously urging the interior faces of the braces towards each other, and an assembly for selectably manually actuatably urging the braces away from each other, in which a selectably imparted force of the manually actuable is sufficient to overcome the force of the assembly urging the braces towards each other. Two arms, each individually extending integrally outwardly from the braces' edges thereof opposite the hinge, provide a platform for a deformable enclosure secured between the arms. The interiorly urging assembly is normally closed when the selectable manual actuation assembly is not actuated. Upon gripping closure of the selectable manual actuation assembly, the enclosure is opened, and can be placed over and around pet waste or other materials to be disposed of.

  • Patent number: 5607409
Abstract: A steaming device for skin treatment includes a base, having an upper and lower surface, the base including a reservoir for water and a non-corrodible conductance element which is defined by two side-by-side vertically positioned electrodes which extend a part of the height of the reservoir. The electrodes diverge from each other as they approach the bottom of the bottom of the base to reduce current flow between them, this compensating for increased conductivity due to mineralization of the water near the bottom of the reservoir that occurs with vaporization and which mineralization would otherwise increase voltage between electrodes to a hazardous level. The device further includes a top portion including an upper and a lower area, and a container for therapeutic substances to be mingled with steam produced by the effect of the conductance element on the water.

  • Patent number: 5573157
Abstract: A security system for use in a pistol holster for the selectable engagement and disengagement of the trigger guard of a pistol or gun. The system, more particularly, includes a segment of a resilient material having a free first end and a second end rigidly affixed to a lower internal co-planar holster surface facing away from the torso of the user, the first end defining a substantial U-shaped portion within a plane substantially transverse to the internal surface of the holster, the U-shaped portion proportioned, in geometry and resilience, to engage the trigger guard responsive to an application of downward pressure upon the first end of the segment by the trigger guard. The security system further includes an element for selectable urging the U-shaped portion of the segment off of the trigger guard responsive to pressure applied onto the top of a release element slidably secured within the holster surface.

  • Patent number: 5488932
Abstract: A gaseous fuel-enriching subsystem for an internal combustion engine includes a supplemental intake conduit to a an intake manifold internal combustion engine. Such supplemental input is provided with numerus apertures therein. An exhaust gas conduit from the internal combustion engine annularly surrounds the intake conduit permitting fuel values from exhaust in the exhaust conduit to enter the supplemental intake conduit through such apertures. A water supply input to the supplemental intake conduit, at a end opposite to the location of the manifold, provides a further fuel input to the supplemental intake conduit in that water from the water supply is evaporated and then hydrolyzed, separating the water into its chemical constituents of hydrogen and oxygen, thusly producing an enriched gaseous fuel mixture with the recycled exhaust gas which is fed to the manifold.
