    Abstract: A rust-proof sealing composition contains 30 to 90 parts by weight of an epoxy resin, 8 to 30 parts by weight of a curing agent containing a carboxylic acid derivative selected from the group consisting of aminocarboxylic acid, polycarboxylic acid hydrazide having not less than 8 carbon atoms and mixtures thereof, 1 to 20 parts by weight of an electrically conductive carbon and a balance of a filler such that the total amounts make up 100 parts by weight. The epoxy resin contains 100 to 30 wt. % of a modified epoxy resin selected from the group consisting of a butadiene/acrylonitrile-modified epoxy resin, an urethane-modified epoxy resin and mixtures thereof, and 0 to 70 wt. % of an epoxy other than the modified epoxy resin.

    Abstract: A low fat spread which is a water-in-oil emulsion comprising a continuous fat phase and a dispersed aqueous phase, the aqueous phase comprising at least 6% by weight of one or more proteins derived from milk and from 1.3 to 4.0% by weight of a modified starch, the fat phase comprising 18 to 37% by weight of the total composition of the low fat spread. The low fat spread of the invention has improved texture, mouthfeel and spreadability, as well as improved flavor.

At least one of the side edges of a first one of the panel members is in juxtaposition with one of the side edges of a second one of the panel members.

    Abstract: An ion plasma electron gun for the generation of electron beams which exhibits electron beam dose uniformity and which is capable of varying the dose received by a material to be irradiated. Positive ions generated by a wire in a plasma discharge chamber are accelerated through an extraction grid onto a second chamber containing a high voltage cold cathode. These positive ions bombard a surface of the cathode, causing the cathode to emit secondary electrons which form an electron beam. After passing through the extraction grid in the plasma discharge chamber, the electron beam exits from the gun by way of a second grid and a foil window supported on the second grid. The gun is constructed so that the electron beam passing through the foil window has a relatively large area and uniform electron distribution which is subsantially the same as the ion distribution of the ion beam impinging upon the cathode.

    Abstract: A process for shaping a metal alloy in which a semi-solid metal alloy charge is shaped under pressure in a closed die cavity. The metal alloy is vigorously agitated, while in the form of a liquid-solid mixture, to convert from 30% to 55% by volume to discrete degenerate dendritic solid particles. The liquid-solid mixture is then cooled to solidify the mixture and reheated to form a semi-solid slurry. The reheated metal alloy slurry contains discrete degenerate dendritic primary solid particles, in a concentration from about 70 to 90% by volume based upon the volume of the alloy, suspended homogeneously in a secondary liquid phase. The process is characterized by low pressure and very rapid shaping and solidification times. The process produces complex, close tolerance, high quality metal alloy parts.

    Abstract: A hydraulic shock absorber with a generally vertical cylinder encasing therein hydraulic liquid and a piston which partitions the interior of the cylinder into two liquid chambers, an upper and lower chamber. Improved damping control is achieved by a circuit forming a connection between the two liquid chambers, a further circuit connecting the reservoir to the lower liquid chamber, each of the two circuits including a controllable first check valve and second check valve, respectively, that can take two states of operation under the action of a control device. The first state resulting in locking the valve in a closed position, cutting off the forward flow through the check valve, and in a second state allowing a free forward flow through the check valve, whereas the check valve in the first state as well as in the second state blocks the reverse flow of both circuits.
