  • Patent number: 7942886
Abstract: A transabdominal needle introducer for the repair of large ventral incisional hernias comprises a handle connected to a long tubular shaft and a disposable needle cartridge at its distal end. The handle has a round knob or head, and a needle pusher to extrude the needles out. The long tubular shaft contains two metal rods disposed inside thereof, one to change the angle of the cartridge, and the other one to extrude the needles. At the proximal end of the tubular shaft there is a rotatable cylindrical control provided with a spiral groove that moves a metal rod destined to pivot the needle cartridge. The second metal rod inside the shaft is assigned to extrude the needles and is connected to a flexible resilient wire that protrudes at the distal end of the tubular shaft and is provided at its distal end with an oval tip that engages a piston-type pusher inside the needle cartridge.

  • Patent number: 7937886
Abstract: A spill resistant insect bait station designed for secure anchorage to the ground is disclosed as having a generally hollow main body defining an internal reservoir for containing a flowable, preferably liquid, bait contained therein. The main body is preferably fabricated from plastic via a blow molding process that includes the steps of filling and sealing. By removing a seal, an access opening is provided at ground level in proximity to the base and an access tunnel guides insects to an opening at the top of the bait station. At top opening on the opposite side of the bait station relative to the access opening allows insect access to the internal reservoir while rending the bait station inherently spill resistant. The inner wall of the main body includes a spiral ramp leading downward to provide insects with access to liquid bait contained therein.

  • Patent number: 7935039
Abstract: A muscle toning exercise device adaptable from a stationary configuration wherein the device is capable of 360° rotation about a vertical axis, to a movable configuration wherein the device is capable of movement in all directions on a planar surface in addition to 360° rotation. The exercise device includes a handle that extends out from a base that supports the weight of a user. The base of the exercise device contains a series of rolling members that protrude out from the bottom to allow the device to move along the surface upon which the exercise is being performed so that the entire exercise device can be rotated a full 360° about an axis that extends through the center of the device, while further allowing for the displacement of the base, and subsequently the entire exercise device in any direction along a planar surface. A separate cup-shaped base member that rests on the planar surface and in which the exercise device may be selectively installed in covering relation with the rolling members.

  • Patent number: 7905322
Abstract: A marine muffler comprises an elongate cylindrical housing having an inlet and an outlet and defining an internal volume partitioned, by an angularly disposed internal baffle, into a lower chamber in communication with the inlet and an upper chamber in communication with the outlet. A vertically disposed duct is insertably secured to the baffle to allow exhaust gas and exhaust cooling water to flow from the lower inlet chamber to upper outlet chamber. The exhaust duct may preferably be further adapted with internal structure forming a plurality of individual flow conduits or passages. The duct is preferably positioned such that a plurality of flow passage inlets are positioned in proximity to the lower cylindrical housing wall, with flow passage outlets positioned in proximity to the upper housing wall. The lower duct wall may further be adapted with sidewall apertures for improving exhaust flow dynamics therethrough.
