  • Patent number: 5536400
Abstract: A method and apparatus for purifying fluids with ozone and ultraviolet radiation. A housing defining an ozone creation chamber having a plurality of ultraviolet radiation sources disposed circumferentially around the inner surface of the housing is provided. Oxygen containing gas, such as ambient air, is directed to flow within the housing. An effluent conduit of ultraviolet radiation permeable material is disposed coaxially within the housing. A venturi is disposed within the effluent conduit. An ozone gas discharge conduit is connected between the ozone creation chamber and the venturi, such that ozonated gas generated within the ozone creation chamber is sucked into the effluent stream flowing within the effluent conduit, thereby purifying the fluid contained therein. The mixture of ozone and fluid passes out the outlet of the effluent conduit and into either a water supply, or is recirculated back through the apparatus for further processing.

  • Patent number: 5535880
Abstract: Apparatus for holding folding clothing in a compact bag, particularly one suited for storage under seats or in overhead bins on commercial aircraft is disclosed. A two part folding panel is connected at one edge parallel to a hinge between two compartments of a suitcase. A hanger carrying an article of clothing is attached to a hook on the interior of a side wall opposite the hinge so that the clothing lays across the bottom of the compartment and portions of the folding panel. Two arcuate padded bars are provided over the hinge and over a fold line on the folding panel so that the clothing is wrapped around same with a relatively large radius of curvature when the first panel segment is folded along the fold line over the second panel segment, and the composite folded panel is then folded into one compartment of the suitcase.

  • Patent number: 5534100
Abstract: A method and tool applicator for applying a heat transfer flock material portably to cloth surface such as automobile seats to allow the use of logos, letters, numbers, and any graphic design to be portably placed without having to remove the material from its present location without having to apply great pressure. The invention includes applying heat through a thermal barrier that protects the seat and the device from excessive heat with a hand-held tool for a predetermined amount of time, which allows the adhesive on the flock material to bond with the seat fabric.

  • Patent number: 5525136
Abstract: An air cleaner incorporating a plurality of filtration techniques within a rigid, gasketed frame designed to fit in conventional filter tracks. A perimeter gasket attached to the frame leaving air side provides a positive seal thereby preventing air from bypassing the frame. The frame houses, in series from the entering air side, a replaceable dry-type media filter coated on its leaving air side with a viscous substance, and a synthetic weave having a charge separation producing local electrostatic effects. The replaceable media effectively comprises two stages of filtration; dry-type media filtration, and viscous impingement filtration. Air passing through the instant filtration configuration is efficiently cleaned with little resistance.

  • Patent number: 5524451
Abstract: A new method and apparatus for freezing food products utilizing a conventional refrigeration cycle. Refrigerant is fed into an array of heat transfer tubes mounted for immersion in a container of perishable food product whereby heat is transferred from the food product to the refrigerant causing the food product to freeze within a predetermined radius of each heat transfer tube. Each heat transfer tube is comprised of an outer fluid conveying member and an inner fluid conveying member that is generally coaxial or concentric with the outer fluid conveying member. After the food product is frozen, the food product container is lowered, leaving the frozen food product suspended by the heat transfer tubes. A support is placed under the frozen product. The frozen product is removed from the apparatus by heating the tubes so as to thaw a quantity of frozen material in the immediate vicinity of the tubes, which causes the weight of the product to shift from the tubes to the support.

  • Patent number: 5524385
Abstract: An improved fish hook and method of attaching line to the hook shank with a knot such that knot strength is maximized, and line force is dissipated along the longitudinal axis of the shank. The improvement comprises a hollow tubular member attached to a fish hook shank such that, when attached, the tube is substantially aligned with the shank, and positioned proximate the shank head. Fishing line is secured to the hook shank by threading the line through the attached tube and knotting the line about the shank such that line load is dissipated longitudinally along the shank axis. The foregoing method of attaching line has been found to increase knot strength while dissipating force along the longitudinal shank axis.

  • Patent number: 5511515
Abstract: A harness is disclosed that fits over an animal's head, such as a dog, and buckles around his chest behind the front legs. Straps, independent of the harness, are fitted around the dogs front legs and are attached to the leash through four D-rings (two D-rings attached to each side of the harness). The lower D-rings are located in such a position that the leg straps, when pulled back by the person walking the dog, pull straight back or perpendicular to the dogs legs. As the animal tries to walk faster or pull faster than the person walking the dog walks, the straps around the dog's legs pull back perpendicular to the dog's legs preventing the animal from walking faster than the person walking the dog. The harness is designed to restrict the movement of the dogs front legs by the force of the dogs own pulling power. The more the dog tries to pull, the less movement the dog has in his front legs.
