Abstract: A product assortment planning system determines scaled performance metric values for an assortment of products. The system includes a data store storing performance metric values for an assortment of products including a target assortment of products and a source assortment of products, an equivalization unit and a scaling unit. The equivalization unit equivalizes the performance metric values for the source assortment of products. The scaling unit determines incrementality assumptions. The incrementality assumptions are an estimation of an amount of cannibalization that occurs for the target assortment of products as a result of combining the source assortment of products with the target assortment of products. Scaled performance metric values are calculated for each product in the assortment of products based on the equivalized performance metric values and the incrementality assumptions.
Abstract: An Object Customization and Management (OCM) system is configured to identify an object for creating a website based on a business objective. The OCM system includes a customizing module configured to determine qualitative attribute categories for a plurality of objects operable to be used in websites. The module assigns the plurality of objects to the qualitative attribute categories. The OCM system also includes a data management module configured to receive a request for one of the plurality of objects to be used to achieve the business objective. This module also matches the business objective with one of the qualitative attribute categories, and selects an object in the matched qualitative attribute category for the request.
Abstract: A decision management system simulates a communications network service deployment using business and technology changeable parameters, a base case model, a network cost model and a bandwidth model. The simulations may be performed for different sets of changeable parameters to generate multiple candidate solutions. These solutions are analyzed to identify a solution for deploying the communications network service.
Abstract: A central administration tool or manager supports entry or selection of attribute data or datum (e.g., an attribute value) associated with at least one of a resource and a user. The entered or selected attribute data is arranged into a data structure (e.g., a file) for transmission over a communications network. The data structure is transmitted over the communications network to a directory interface. The transmitted data structure is processed to be compatible with interpretation by a directory services system. The directory services system is invoked consistent with the contents of the data structure (e.g., the file) and the previous processing of the data structure. Resources (e.g., applications) that are under the control of the directory services are managed consistent with the contents of the data structure.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for communicating transactional and informational messages among air travel service providers and other participants. The technique implements a public protocol in a network having a service oriented architecture. A message in a source format is converted to a public format message with a payload, wherein the payload is the message. The open source message is parsed and communicated over a network, such as the Internet Protocol network, to a switch. The switch authenticates the message, extracts the payload, and communicates the message to the destination, where the message may be converted into a destination format and communicated to a user interface. The message may be processed by the switch and/or the destination to obtain statistical and/or other useful data.
Abstract: An apparatus for protecting and fastening a wire to a mounting object includes a molded unibody having a first section connected to a second section, wherein the first section includes a surface that operates to receive a fastener, such as a staple, therethrough to secure the wire in place against the mounting object, and the second section protrudes from the surface of the first section and extends away from the surface of the first section for a user to safely hold the first section in place as the user mounts the apparatus and the wire to the mounting object.
Abstract: A collective knowledge set of business relationship information from a plurality of sources is generated. The collective knowledge set is mapped as a plurality of navigable paths forming a business relationship network between a source and a target. One or more of the paths are identified as candidate paths most likely to lead to a business relationship between the source and the target based on evaluation criteria.

Abstract: A barrel jacket covering at least partially the outer surface of the bullet-guiding barrel of a firearm is provided, wherein the barrel jacket has at least one inner casing and one outer casing and a spacer. The inner casing is arranged adjacent to the barrel, covering the barrel in a close-up position. The outer casing is arranged at a distance to the inner casing, covering the inner casing, thus providing a continuous gap. The continuous gap is stabilized by at least one spacer, which stabilizes the inner casing and outer casing in their relative positions.

Abstract: A reconfiguration manager is operable to reconfigure a repurposable recovery environment between a recovery environment for a production environment and a second environment different from the recovery environment. A storage system in the repurposable recovery environment periodically saves production information from the production environment while the repurposable recovery environment is operating as the second environment. The production information in the storage system is used to reconfigure the repurposable recovery environment from the second environment to the recovery environment.

Abstract: Systems, apparatus, methods and computer-readable mediums as set forth herein are directed to accessing a plurality of proposals for consideration and generating and enabling a tournament, the tournament having at least one tier, the at least one tier having at least one match.
Abstract: A holder manufacturing method for loading a substrate of a semiconductor manufacturing device, a batch type boat having the holder, a loading/unloading method of a semiconductor substrate using the same, and a semiconductor manufacturing device having the same are disclosed. For example, the manufacturing method of the holder of the boat for loading a semiconductor substrate includes the steps of molding a holder substrate of a pipe shape having inner and outer circumference of a predetermined size in such a manner that a lower portion of the semiconductor substrate is seated thereon; and forming a plurality of holder rings by cutting the holder rings from the holder substrate in such a manner that each holder ring is matched to a disposal interval of the semiconductor substrates in the boat.
Abstract: A fabricating method of a polysilicon layer is disclosed which can be applied for fabricating a semiconductor device such as a SRAM and so on. The method for fabricating the semiconductor device includes the steps of: forming a transistor included in the semiconductor device on a semi conductor substrate forming an insulating layer on the transistor; forming contact holes, through which a region of the transistor is exposed, by selectively removing the insulating layer forming a silicon layer in the contact holes forming a metal layer on the insulating layer and the silicon layer; forming a metal suicide layer through heat treatment of the silicon layer and the metal layer; removing the metal layer; forming an amorphous silicon layer on the insulating layer and the metal suicide layer; and forming a polysilicon layer through heat treatment of the amorphous silicon layer.

Abstract: Disclosed is a weight vector computing unit using a symbol-rate, a chip-rate and/or a mixed-rate in a Smart Antenna System. The weight vector computing unit is useful in a wireless communication network having a reverse pilot channel. Further, by using such the weight vector computing unit, high-speed broadband communications are available in a smart antenna system. In such 3-G wireless communications where both traffic signals and pilot signals are transmitted from a terminal, the weight vector computing unit calculates optimized weight vectors using the pilot signal and the calculated weight vectors are adapted to each traffic signal. The weight vector computing unit is configured to receive the received signal and/or the integrated signal in order to produce a weight vector for beamforming without any training signal.
