  • Patent number: 7339959
Abstract: A signal transmitter and a signal receiver comprises a time base compression part (101) for compressing an audio signal on a time base to output the compressed signal as a time base compressed audio signal and a multiplexing part (102) for multiplexing a video signal, a control signal, and the time base compressed audio signal to output the multiplexed signal to the external as a video/audio control multiplexed signal. The thus constituted signal transmitter and the signal receiver realize a signal transmission system for multiplexing and transmitting the video signal, audio signal, and control signal, for consequently transmitting high-quality diverse digital audio signals without conversion into an analog signal, and for transmission at high speed with minimal error.

  • Patent number: 7335754
Abstract: This invention provides the sequence of 5,299 nucleotides from the E. canis genome. There are four proteins, ProA, ProB, MmpA, and a cytochrome oxidase homolog, as well as a partial lipoprotein signal peptidase homolog at the carboxy terminus, coded for in this cloned fragment. The antigenic properties of these proteins allow them to be used to create a vaccine. An embodiment of this invention includes the creation of a DNA vaccine, a recombinant vaccine, and a T cell epitope vaccine. Another embodiment of this invention includes the use of serological diagnosis techniques.

  • Patent number: 7331216
Abstract: A leak rate measuring device contains a strip spectrometer in which the ion path of the respective gas is influenced by at least one variable influencing quantity. When a gas having a predetermined mass is detected, and leakages of a gas having other predetermined masses interfere with this detection due to lack of selectivity of the spectrometer, the influencing quantity is modulated in a sinusoidal manner, and the wanted signal is subsequently selected in a lock-in amplifier. This modulation enables, for example, the elimination of the interfering influence of underground water during the leak rate measurement while using helium as a test gas.

  • Patent number: 7329149
Abstract: A coaxial cable connector includes a connector body, a mandrel disposed inside the connector body and a compression member radially adjacent to one end of the connector body. A plurality of inner rings and at least one outer ring are interleaved in a wedging relationship inside the connector body outside a portion of a mandrel. As the compression member is axially advanced, the inner and outer rings are driven into a wedging engagement between the coaxial cable and the connector body. At least one of the inner rings is composed of a deformable material which when compressed forms a continuous seal with the coaxial cable.

  • Patent number: 7322498
Abstract: A lightweight child carrier that can be mounted upon the front or the back of a wearer's torso with little or no need to adjust the carrier's harness. The carrier includes a main panel having generally a rectangular shape. The bottom edge of the main panel is joined to the top edge of a padded waist band and the bottom edge of a head restraining panel is joined to the top edge of the main panel. Shoulder straps are connected to the main panel and are cojoined by a chest strap that is slidably mounted upon each shoulder strap. Adjustable restraining straps are connected to the chest strap and to the head restraining panel. An auxiliary waist belt is provided that considerably expands the length of the waist band to allow the carrier to be worn by a woman during pregnancy.

  • Patent number: 7316405
Abstract: An apparatus for climbing and descending stairs or other obstacles has three flexibly connected sections and a pair of crawler belt systems on opposite sides of the unit. Each of the crawler belt systems comprised of three crawler belts are driven by one of a pair of motors that directly drives a pinion that engages two of the crawler belts, one of which then drives the last crawler belt through another pinion. The stair-climbing apparatus also includes a mounting platform for coupling a carrier device such as a wheelchair or a box. In order to provide cushioning and stability for movements from a horizontal surface to an inclined surface and vice versa, shock absorbers are provided between the three sections. A linear actuator is also provided to provide stabilization as well as the ability to raise and lower both the stair-climbing crawler unit as well as the wheelchair, providing three modes of operation including manually wheel driven mode, motor wheel driven mode, and motor crawler driven mode.
