  • Patent number: 7527089
Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a plurality of flat, multi-channel heat exchange tubes extending between spaced headers. Each heat exchange tube has an inlet end in fluid flow communication with one of the headers and an outlet opening to the other header. Each heat exchange tube has a plurality of flow channels extending longitudinally in parallel relationship from its inlet end to its outlet end. A plurality of connectors are positioned between the inlet header and the heat transfer tubes to define a flow path providing fluid flow communication between the inlet header and the inlet ends of the heat exchange tubes. Two or more flow restriction ports are arranged in the series in the flow path through each connector whereby fluid flowing from the inlet header to the flow channels of the heat exchange tube associated therewith undergoes an expansion as the fluid passes through each flow restriction port.

  • Patent number: 7523602
Abstract: In a gas turbine installation having an enclosure for passing cooling air therethrough and around the gas turbine, provision is made for a mixing of the cooling air with the exhaust gases being emitted from the gas turbine to thereby reduce the temperature thereof prior to its passing into the exhaust stack, but only after the primary air has passed through a catalyst bed which is disposed in a position over the gas turbine exhaust opening. The shape of the catalyst bed is preferably A-shaped in cross-section to thereby increase the surface area thereof. In this way, the temperature at the catalyst bed is maintained at an elevated level to obtain superior performance while a subsequent mixing of the primary air with the cooling air results in lower temperatures of the gases passing through the exhaust stack.

  • Patent number: 7520091
Abstract: A bang-bang servo system controls motors which provide drive for trucks on each end of a fabric support beam structure. A plurality of such truck/beam/fabric units comprise a retractable roof Separation of inner and outer truck guiding tracks/support platforms may be wide and somewhat variable. The radius of curvature of the inner and outer tracks may vary widely over the beam excursion path between open and closed roof conditions. Individual beam motion sequencing and stop position are commanded through a central control unit. These features allow great flexibility and adaptability in application of this invention.

  • Patent number: 7516044
Abstract: In a drive circuit in which a plurality of drive motors are connected to a power source through a protective device which trips when the flow of current is excessive, provision is made to detect which circuit or circuits were active at the time of the failure. A microprocessor is provided to both control the activation of each of the various circuits and to also sense which circuits were active at the time of the failure. Appropriate signals are sent from the microprocessor to a user interface so that proper diagnostic and repair action can be taken.

  • Patent number: 7507066
Abstract: A modular header body is described for distributing fluid to an individually pumped fluid circuit. The modular header body has a valve to selectively isolate the header body's suction chamber from its volute, which permits a pump motor to be disconnected from the header body while the valve is closed. Each modular header body is constructed so that adjacent header bodies can be connected to each other to form a common suction chamber. Each header body's isolation valve operates independently so that the volute of one header body can be isolated from the common suction chamber without affecting fluid supply to the other header bodies.

  • Patent number: 7500874
Abstract: An integrated seal assembly and a coaxial cable system component incorporating the seal assembly with a connector for coupling to an externally threaded port. The seal assembly includes a bellows-type seal having an elastically deformable tubular body and a plurality of sealing surfaces, and an integral joint-section intermediate an anterior end and a posterior end that assists in the axial deformation of the seal in response to axially-directed force. One of the sealing surfaces is made to engage a corresponding surface of an internally threaded nut or housing. The component is engagable with an externally threaded port via the internally threaded connector. The anterior end of the seal fits over the port and a sealing surface of the seal is capable of sealing axially against a shoulder of the port while the seal body covers the otherwise exposed externally threaded port.

  • Patent number: 7501902
Abstract: This invention relates to a phase-locked loop circuit and a data reproduction apparatus, which can reduce a processing time that is required for initial adjustment in the data reproduction apparatus. In a digital data reproduction apparatus having two control functions, i.e., phase and duty adjustments for binarized data, the phase comparison with one edge is performed only at the phase adjustment by means of a phase-locked loop circuit 33 having an edge switching means 4 which controls the phase comparator 1. The phase comparator 1 inputs the binarized and a bit synchronous clock, and switches the output between a comparison result with one edge, i.e., a rising edge or a falling edge of binarized data, and a comparison result with both edges.

  • Patent number: 7492493
Abstract: There is described a bar code reading device having an image sensor, a first operating state and an alternative operating state. In the first operating state the bar code reading device can be restricted from reading out image data corresponding to a maximum number of pixels of the image sensor. In the alternative operating state, the bar code reading device can be capable of reading out a maximum number of pixels of the image sensor. The bar code reading device can attempt to decode a bar code symbol represented in captured image data whether the first operating state or the alternative operating state is active.

  • Patent number: 7481800
Abstract: A triple lumen stone balloon catheter (1) having a tapered distal end (9). A lumen (24) dedicated to transmitting contrast media is dimensioned and adapted to conform to the shape of a kidney in a main shaft of the catheter and conform to the shape of a crescent in a distal end of the catheter. The geometric shaping of the contrast media lumen (24) enables wall thickness to be maintained within acceptable ranges to sustain desirable mechanical characteristics while allowing for enhanced contrast media flow. A method for employing the balloon catheter (1) is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7472557
Abstract: An air conditioning system includes a plurality of sensors for sensing temperature and/or pressure conditions of the system which collectively indicate the actual refrigerant charge level in the system. This level is then compared with optimum level values that are stored in memory, and the difference between the two is used to indicate whether the system is properly charged. If not, the difference is applied to open a charge valve or a purge valve to automatically install additional refrigerant or to remove refrigerant so as to establish an optimum volume of refrigerant in the system.
