  • Patent number: 5135206
Abstract: A clamping device for use with stock to be adhesed into a position where it will be routed to form a cove or other shaped routed joint at the interface of a vertical and a horizontal surface of Corian.TM. or equal rigid plastic sheets typically at the junction of a countertop and a backsplash respectively for kitchens and bathrooms. The device includes a main body having a pair of spaced suction cups at opposite ends of the main body portion. Each of the suction cups is disposed on an extremity or terminal section of the central section of the main body at a similar but oppositely directed angle relative to the central section of the main body portion. The central section also includes a spring-loaded retaining notch disposed therethrough at about the midpoint of the central section for the stock to be routed.

  • Patent number: 5133163
Abstract: A construction block suitable for the preparation of an assemblage such as lawn edging, patio perimeters (patio containment system) and the like, wherein a plurality of the blocks are rigidly assembled into the desired configuration without the use of mortar. Each construction block is formed as a pre-cast module, preferably of concrete, within which there is a conduit said conduit being formed from an optional elongated imperforate pipe length with at least one double ended female pipe coupling, and if said pipe is present, double ended female couplings are present at the opposite ends thereof. The conduit may extend in one or more directions through the block and terminates flush with the outer walls thereof.Connection of adjacent blocks one to another to form an assemblage is carried out by connector means comprising the interposition and adhesion of male nipples within adjacent female couplings. A concrete caulk sealant may be applied between any two spaced blocks to retard growth of grass and weeds.

  • Patent number: 5132355
Abstract: Liquid hydrocarbons are gelled by polyethylene block copolymers (PEBC's) to yield storage stable gels and sols that contain no metal-containing gelling agents and which compositions are thermally reversible; i.e., they melt into homogeneous liquids upon heating and upon cooling resume their previous state as a gel or sol.The PEBC gelling agents are block copolymers consisting of quasi-polyethylene crystalline "hard" blocks A and amorphous hydrocarbon "soft" blocks B. Crystallinity of the blocks A imparts the gel or sol with a sharp melting point which is dependent upon the PEBC chemical composition and concentration within the hydrocarbon. The gels and sols may contain suspended solid particles, such as powdered metals, fillers or oxidizers and are pumpable even when these suspended particles are present.

  • Patent number: 5121924
Abstract: A device to improve one's golf swing made of hook and loop engageable material. The hook material is fabricated into a club face cover preferably highlighting the sweet spot on the golf club. The design is fabricated from many separate pieces held together with double back adhesive tape filament holding the design together on one side and adhering to the wood or iron club face on the other side. The loop material is wrapped around a low mass soft sponge ball and is attached to a foot commonly known as a tee forming the target. When the club face cover hits the target, the nature of the hook and loop material causes the target to engage the club face's loops thus marking the spot the target engaged the club and showing the manner in which the target was hit as the target temporarily changes its shape.

  • Patent number: 5098731
Abstract: A frozen-nondairy dessert having the creamy texture and the mouth feel of an ice cream product comprised of a frozen banana based composite of bananas alone or in combination with flavor providing substances. Preferably ripe banana or banana mixture which has been quick frozen preferably in small mass units and maintained in a frozen state till time of use. The frozen banana composite is first masticated, then whipped to achieve a significant overrun and either served immediately, or refrozen, preferably quickly for future use.Fruits, nuts, and flavorings may be blended into the banana composite prior to the freezing step or they can be mixed with the frozen composite during mastication or aeration.

  • Patent number: 5076856
Abstract: Apparatus and method for cleaning heat exchangers when overhauling transmissions or the like wherein the inlet and outlet of a heat exchanger is disconnected from the transmission and connected to a source of solvent, oil and air. Solvent is first injected into the heat exchanger in a direction reverse to the normal flow of oil through the heat exchanger. This injection of solvent is stopped, then started again after a predetermined delay time. This injection and delay cycle may be repeated.Air is now injected under pressure into the heat exchanger in a direction reverse to the flow of oil therethrough, i.e. in the same direction as the solvent injection.Thirdly, oil is injected into the heat exchanger in the normal direction of flow of oil therethrough for a predetermined time. This injection of oil is stopped for a predetermined period of time. The injection and delay cycle for oil injection may also be repeated.
