Abstract: Apparatus and method for cleaning heat exchangers when overhauling transmissions or the like wherein the inlet and outlet of a heat exchanger is disconnected from the transmission and connected to a source of solvent, oil and air. Solvent is first injected into the heat exchanger in a direction reverse to the normal flow of oil through the heat exchanger. This injection of solvent is stopped, then started again after a predetermined delay time. This injection and delay cycle may be repeated.Air is now injected under pressure into the heat exchanger in a direction reverse to the flow of oil therethrough, i.e. in the same direction as the solvent injection.Thirdly, oil is injected into the heat exchanger in the normal direction of flow of oil therethrough for a predetermined time. This injection of oil is stopped for a predetermined period of time. The injection and delay cycle for oil injection may also be repeated.
Abstract: A leg trainer device for use in carrying out deep knee bends and standing calf exercises, which trainer may be used in conjunction with a means to enhance balance during periods of use.The device includes a main body formed from a plurality of frame members, and a pair of spaced shoulder supports which are attached to said main body. Angularly disposed weight holding members are attached to frame members of the main body.
Abstract: A lid actuated toilet flushing system wherein a conventional flushing flapper valve is actuated by a pull chain controlled by the positioning of the lid fo the toilet. The lid must be moved from the up to the down position to flush the toilet and a ratchet mechanism is provided for completing flushing of the toilet even if the lid is left in the down position.Moving the lid actuates a pawl (flush lever) which rotates a tooth (trip lever) which trip lever is connected to a conventional flusing rod and other elements interposed between the flusing rod and a flapper valve.
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically filling a pool or spa with water. The apparatus can be installed adjacent the pool or spa and includes a housing coupled to the preexisting water input of the pool or spa and such coupling is controlled by a float valve to either shut off or admit incoming water depending upon the level of the water in the pool or spa. The inlet pipe for water delivery to the pool enters the pool above or below water level.
Abstract: A hair-drying system for use primarily in homes and other locations which employs a central forced air blower to disperse air through an air ducting system to air terminals disposed primarily in bathrooms. The air terminals are covered over when in the non-operative position. Upon physical and electrical coupling of a hair-drying unit to the air terminal, which hair-drying unit is comprised of a dryer and a flex tubing, air will be delivered through the flex tubing to the dryer, since the flex tubing is in fluid connection with both the air ducting system and the dryer. An optional damper(s) can be employed to limit air flow. Heat is applied to the air by a dryer mounted switch controlled resistance heater. The electrical energy to operate the dryer is obtained from a grounded electrical outlet mounted adjacent the cover plate of the air terminal. If 110 volt AC is used to power the dryer, the electrical connection would be via a ground fault interrupter to prevent injury.
Abstract: A multiple pen caddy for pens having a shoulder or ring on the pen cap wherein the pens are stored cap down-barrel up, wherein the shoulder or ring of the barrel of each pen cooperates with a part of the caddy to permit one hand removal and replacement of each pen's barrel within its cap. The caddy may assume many configurations and hold any number of pens, the number being limited only by the physical size of the product.
Abstract: A spear-like device for puncturing the membrane or diaphragm stopper of a liquid medicament vial. The spear-like device includes a fluid supply port from which liquid can be delivered to a hooded needle.

Abstract: A frozen-nondairy dessert having the creamy texture and the mouth feel of an ice cream product comprised of quick frozen preferably ripe banana, which banana or banana mixture has been quick frozen preferably in small mass units and maintained in a frozen state till time of use. The frozen banana composite is first masticated, then whipped to achieve a significant overrun and either served immediately, or refrozen, preferably quickly for future use.Other fruits, nuts, and flavorings may be added to the banana composite prior to the freezing step or can be mixed with frozen banana or composite during mastication or aeration.
Abstract: An electronic scoring device for use by two contestants playing Boss Dice. When a first contestant wins a Hand or Round, he/she pushes his switch and a hand or game light is illuminated on his side of the scorekeeper device to rotate the advantage. If the same contestant wins the second hand or game, the same switch is pushed and the numeral "1" appears on a display to note the winner of the first game (here two straight hands) and the circuitry causes the first hand or round light to go out. In the next case where both contestants have won one round each, both game lights will have been illuminated on the scorekeeper by each contestant having pushed his respective switch. The winner of the third and final round, pushes his switch, causes the digital display to advance one digit on his display and both round lights are extinguished.
Abstract: A chair for computer users, sculptors, electronic assembly line workers and others wherein the weight of the body of the user is concentrated between the ankles and knee by permitting the chair user to position his or her body somewhat forwardly, while providing the ability to utilize the hands freely but in a non-fatigue inducing position. The user sits in the chair, facing the back. The chair features a split back portion to enable the user to see what he is working upon; a pair of diverging arm supports emanating from a back support; and diverging ankle supports emanating from the main superstructure.
Abstract: A process for lengthening the hair of persons having short hair and for thickening the hair for those having a relatively snall amount of hair, which process comprises the steps of aligning supplemental hair with the natural hair, adhering the supplemental hair to the natural hair utilizing a colored thermpolastic glue, intertwining the warm adhered natural and supplemental hair together to permit a binding of the supplemental to the natural hair, and then styling the combined hair. A technique for preparing the thermoplastic glue is also disclosed.
Abstract: A device for retaining slidelock electrical connectors in mating arrangement with the studs for receiving same such that the electrical connection pins remain engaged for good contact. The device includes a flexible elongated body member with a cable mounting means at one end and a pair of spaced prongs at the other end, said prongs extending in the same direction as the body member, with one of said prongs having an inwardly directed boss at the end thereof.
Abstract: A motorless water pump for utilizing the rate of flow of falling water to pump the same to a higher location. The pump utilizes a phenomenon known as "water hammer" to use the force of the running water to close a valve and pump the water to a higher location. The pump is economical, portable and contains relatively few moving internal parts.
Abstract: A partial cover for pick-up truck beds having a plurality of longitudinal exterior grooves extending from front to rear of the cover. The cover covers the full width of the bed and part of the length from the cab to a mid portion of the bed and is coupled at one end of the truck adjacent the cab extending toward the rear of the truck where it may rest on the wheel well or optional supporting brackets. A rear spoiler is provided across the width of the cover for stability. An optional water curtain may be provided.
Abstract: An optionally disposable lightweight, readily stored, low cost cervical spine board made of plastic corrugated board. The device has pre-cut score lines therein for folding the device around the sides of the head and around the sides of the body.Head and neck tabs, and body wings are secured by straps which straps are pre-attached to the device, and which are secured by conventional lock closures similar to those used in car seat belts and other restraining devices.
Abstract: Apparatus and method for reducing the effects of draft tube pressure fluctuations acting on a runner in a hydraulic reaction turbine or the effects of suction tube pre-rotation acting on the impeller in a centrifugal pump. A closed surge suppression chamber is mounted about the exterior of the turbine draft tube or pump suction tube. A plurality of openings are provided about the exterior of the draft tube or pump suction tube communicating with both the interior of the draft tube or pump suction tube and the interior of the chamber near its bottom thereof. An air inlet is provided leading into the chamber at the top thereof. In operation, and during operation of the turbine or pump where a rotating helical vortex of water has formed in the draft tube or pump suction tube, water flows from the draft tube or pump suction tube through the openings and into the bottom of the chamber while air is injected into the top of the chamber.
