Abstract: Method and automatic system for the determination and the classification of foods based on a high-speed manipulation robot aided by a localization system which is capable of detecting the food which comes along a transport system in a random fashion without contact between one and the other, and to classify it; the robot incorporates a manipulation grip wherein a sensor which permits the determination and classification of the food is housed.
Abstract: Methods and devices for loading, deploying, and receiving concertina-wire barriers along paths with varying travel or paths located at a distance to the access track of a transport vehicle. The first method includes loading a concertina-wire coil arrangement directly into carry tines and adjusting the tine tilt during deployment to reflect the changing gradient. An anchored portion of the wire stretches each coil longitudinally into its operative configuration and position as the transport vehicle advances. A second method involves a generally analogous process in order to deploy the barrier at distance from the access route. Retrieval for both methods is accomplished by inserting the carry tines in the space circumscribed by the deployed coils so that as the transport vehicle advances the coil arrangement is removed from its deployment location and pressed together onto the tines thereby being disposed for the next deployment.
Abstract: A method and a compartment within an incubator, capable of allowing chicks to feed during the hatching process without reducing hatchability or livability. Thanks to immediate post hatch nutrition, the development during the chicks first days is significantly improved, resulting in a significant improvement in their weight as well. Furthermore, the accessibility of feed for the chicks is enabled and improved immediately after their hatching thanks to suitable lighting and the use of feeding troughs with transparent walls.

Abstract: It is provided a method of matching pairs of persons. The method includes receiving from the persons personal opinions on other persons, and based on a collaborative filtering algorithm, calculating from the personal opinions a first estimated opinion of a first person on a second person and a second estimated opinion of the second person on the first person. The method also includes matching the two persons in accordance with the estimated opinions and connecting them for a predetermined time duration. The first estimated opinions may be the estimated probability that the first person wants to be matched to the second person. The matching of the two persons is done in accordance with the product of the probabilities. Matching order is determined by a difference between a highest and a second highest product of a person in two different pairs.
Abstract: A two-stroke opposite radial rotary-piston engine is proposed, comprising a block including sleeves, pairs of pistons disposed within the sleeves and oppositely movable, a power takeoff shaft, two parallel positioned rotors mounted thereon having an inner surface formed by a closed curved line. The rotors have concaved surface portions. Cross-like traverses are mounted, pair-wise spanning the pistons. The traverses are associated with engagement means, cooperating with the concaved portions. The engine comprises support bearings, coupled to the traverses. Support bearings include an external bushing, rolling over the rotor's inner surface, thereby impelling the rotor. The engagement means are mounted in the region of contact of the support bearings and rotors, thereby eliminating lateral force moment, extending the lifespan of the engine.
Abstract: A method for registration of multiple entities belonging to a specific optical networks unit (ONU). In one embodiment, the multiple entity registration method comprises checking by an optical line terminal (OLT) if a registration request message (400) received from the specific ONU belongs to a certain grant (402), and based on the check result, registering an entity as either a first (408) or as an additional entity (404) of the specific ONU. In another embodiment, the method comprises checking by an OLT of a reserved value of a flags field (502) inside a registration request message (500), and based on the check result, registering an entity as either a first (508) or as an additional entity (504) of the specific ONU. The knowledge by an OLT that multiple entities belong to a specific ONU is used for grant optimization and packet data flow optimization.
Abstract: The flow of fluid into energy capture machines is crucial for determining the amount of energy extracted, particularly in the field of renewable energy resources. The current invention describes devices and methods for applying the physics of flow to energy capture machines, most commonly wind and water turbines, by enhancing the flow into the energy capture component by the appropriate placement of various objects called flow deflection devices (FDD). FDDs can make a highly significant improvement in power output.
Abstract: A container for pressurized discharge of fluid contained therein, the container having a container body, a pump lid deployed on the container body for pressurizing an interior volume of the container, a release control arrangement; and an outlet nozzle. The pump lid has a rotatable pump cylinder configuration and a pump piston mechanically associated with the pump cylinder configuration such that at least a portion of the piston is deployed within the pump cylinder, thereby defining between them a variable pump volume, the pump piston configured with a substantially cylindrical piston wall having an interior surface and an exterior surface such that a portion of the interior surface is configured for releasable attachment to the container and a portion of the exterior surface interacts with the rotatable pump cylinder configuration. The association is such that rotation of the pump cylinder configuration generates linear motion of said rotatable pump cylinder configuration.
Abstract: In a communication system in which data is transferred by packets, a ranging method in which a receiver, in a given ranging window, periodically compares received data with expected data to find a match. The periodic comparison includes searching for known preamble and/or delimiter sequences of ranging packets and involves timeouts for each search period. In case a match between the known sequences and received sequences is not found and the respective timeout is exceeded, the search and comparison process is restarted and continues until a global timeout is exceeded.
Abstract: A dental tool displacement apparatus for use with a motorized power handle to displace a dental tool includes a tool holder having a receptacle for receiving the dental tool, and a drive arrangement. The drive arrangement defines a transmission from the motorized power handle to the tool holder such that the tool holder undergoes reciprocating motion parallel to the tool axis at a first frequency of oscillations per minute and rotates about the tool axis at a second frequency of rotations per minute. In some cases, the two types of motion are generated by an eccentric drive pin engaging an annular slot which has gear teeth along one side, thereby generating an angular rotation step of the tool holder during each reciprocating stroke. In some cases, the first frequency is at least one order of magnitude greater than the second frequency.
Abstract: A method for implanting a tooth implant in an at least partially edentulous patient including the steps of anchoring at least one attachment element in a patient's jaw bone, removeably and replaceably mounting a carrier assembly bearing at least one fiducial marker onto the at least one attachment element in a precisely repeatable position with respect to the patient's jaw bone, employing the carrier assembly for providing registration between the at least one fiducial marker and the patient's jaw bone and implanting the tooth implant by employing a tracking system which uses the registration to guide a drilling assembly.
Abstract: The present invention discloses methods, media, and gateways for protecting against cookie-poisoning attacks in networked-communication applications. Methods include the steps of: creating a protected gateway cookie, generated by a gateway, for a server cookie, generated by a server, wherein the server cookie is received by the gateway in an HTTP response message; and validating, by the gateway, that a client cookie from a client request has a corresponding gateway cookie with expected field values. Preferably, the field values include at least one field value selected from the group consisting of: a name, a hash value computed over the server cookie, a hash-function index, a timestamp, a nonce, a hash value computed over newly-generated values, a path, a domain, an expiration, and an HTTP-only value. Preferably, the gateway cookie is signed with a secret key. Most preferably, the secret key is generated by a secret seed.
