Abstract: Device, in particular for use in a motor vehicle, having a sensor arrangement (21), which controls an air-conditioning unit, for determining the ambient-air quality, and an arrangement of ozone sensors (21, 22) upstream and downstream of a radiator (1), in particular of the motor vehicle, which is coated with a catalyst material for detecting the conversion rate of the conversion of ozone into oxygen which is effected by the catalyst.

Abstract: An unlockable non-return valve reduces the tendency of the poppet piston to jam by providing a first insert that has a guide diameter for the poppet piston over just a short section of its end side facing the piston collar, and wherein a supporting ring is arranged axially between the high-pressure seal and the first insert in a receiving element, the diameter of which is substantially smaller than the outside diameters of the inserts, the supporting ring likewise being produced from a metallic material having good sliding properties and being produced with a narrow clearance from the end section of the poppet piston and with a large radial clearance from the receiving element.

Abstract: A drive for a movable part, such as a mold closure platen, includes two hydraulic cylinder-and-piston units defining first and third pressure chambers in a first of the hydraulic units and defining fourth and fifth pressure chambers in a second of the hydraulic units, and wherein the piston of one of the hydraulic units is a stepped piston defining a second pressure chamber, thereby providing five pressure chambers. An arrangement of valves provides for selective coupling of hydraulic fluid among the pressure chambers whereby pressure medium is forced from one of the hydraulic units, during an advance of its piton, to the other of the hydraulic units.
Abstract: In an arrangement comprising a motor/pump unit and a sound-deadening cover, the sound-deadening cover absorbs the airborne noise emitted by the motor/pump unit. On the other hand, the sound-deadening cover acts like the diaphragm of a loudspeaker for the structureborne noise emanating from the motor/pump unit. In order to absorb the structureborne noise as well, the sound-deadening cover is constructed as a sound-deadening hood, and is placed over the motor/pump unit in the operating condition, without touching it. During transportation, the sound-deadening hood and the motor/pump unit are supported on one another. The arrangement is used to absorb sound from units comprising a pump and a motor driving the latter.
Abstract: An engine starter includes a recoil device, and a recoil cover for accommodating the recoil device therein also covers a flywheel operatively rotated with the recoil device, ring gears integrally fixed to the flywheel, and pinions which are components of a starter device and engage with the ring gears when the starter device is operated. The recoil cover is provided with a drain mechanism, including a boss formed integrally with the recoil cover, a drain pipe projected on the boss, and a drain cap plugged to the drain pipe and made of rubber so that it is manually detachable therefrom without using a tool. Thus a liquid such as muddy water which has entered from the recoil cover can be removed simply by pulling out the drain cap.

Abstract: In a coupling for the connection of a washing-liquid pipe in a motor vehicle to another component, a catching element (3) designed for connecting two coupling parts (1, 2) has a shell (9) of C-shaped cross section intended for gripping. Catching noses (6) project radially inwardly from the shell (9). By this, mounting and demounting of the catching element (3) are especially simple.
Abstract: A head-up display in which the light of an image-forming device (10) can be projected onto a projection surface (12) via at least one mirror (1), and the at least one mirror (1) can be rotated about a first axis of rotation (3) by an adjusting device (2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8), and so the position of an image that can be projected onto the projection surface (12) can be varied.
Abstract: A door lock (12) which is conceived in particular for use in motor vehicle doors has a rotary latch (14) and a closing aid (10) which acts on the latter and, with the aid of a drive, carries along the door to be closed in to the closed position. Known door locks having a closing aid have an increased space requirement and cannot readily be accommodated in structurally predetermined constructional spaces. The invention provides the drive of the closing aid such that it is separated structurally from the door lock (12) and provides a flexible drive element for transmitting force from the drive to the rotary latch (14). If appropriate, a deflection roller (26) may be provided and may be designed such that it is movable in order to bring about an auxiliary opening.
Abstract: A main bearing case has a bearing holder for holding a bearing for supporting a crankshaft, and a crankcase mounting section at which it is joined to a crankcase. Spherical rib walls are formed on one face of the main bearing case opposite to the crankcase for connecting the bearing holder and the crankcase mounting section, on the upper side with respect to the axis of the crankshaft. Force radially exerted to the crankshaft is received by these rib walls, increasing the rigidity of the main bearing case, whereby deformation and play thereof are prevented.
Abstract: An optical system forms an image of a light source, such as a short arc lamp, particularly of a high numerical aperture, via a spherical, concave reflector onto the entrance surface of a light guide. The reflector is asymmetrically arranged to the light source, and the latter has a relative large angular distance from the axis of symmetry of the reflector, so that the light guide in the path of reflected rays has also a large angular distance from this axis of symmetry and, hence, from the hot light source. In the path of rays between the light source and the spherical, concave reflector is a cylindrical lens, preferably a circular cylindrical lens, of positive diffraction.
Abstract: An electrical voltage arrangement to be provided with selectively different electrical input variables, for example in the form of a unidirectional voltage, a bidirectional voltage or a unidirectional current, can be converted into an impressed electrical output voltage. At the same time, there is to be a predefined relationship between the input variable and the output voltage. The circuit arrangement contains a first arithmetic circuit which converts a voltage fed to it into a first impressed voltage, and a second arithmetic circuit which converts an input voltage fed to it into a second impressed voltage. The voltage which is present at the input terminals of the circuit arrangenent is fed to the first arithmetic circuit. The voltage which drops across a resistor which can be connected to the input terminals of the circuit arrangement is fed to the second arithmetic circuit.
Abstract: In a magnet coil arrangement having a wound coil former and having a metal housing surrounding the wound coil former, contact tabs are held in a plug-in base, one of which serves as a protective conductor connection. The contact tab serving as a protective conductor connection is held on the metal housing by a metallic connecting part. The free spaces between the wound coil former, the metal housing and the plug-in base are encapsulated with plastic. At the interfaces between the metal parts and plastic, moisture can enter the magnet coil arrangement. In order to prevent this moisture from getting into the connecting space, in which electric feed lines coming from the outside are connected to the contact tabs, in the area in which the connecting part engages in the contact tab, the contact tab serving as a protective conductor connection is arranged inside the plug-in base.
Abstract: A carbon brush spring system comprises a carbon brush arranged at a first terminal surface thereof conductively contacting a rotatable collector body (20) for electric current transfer. The system furthermore comprises a spring part arranged at a region of the carbon brush away from the first terminal surface to engage with the carbon brush for therewith establishing a current conductive interconnection to an external electric facility. The system furthermore comprises mechanical stabilizing arranged for maintaining a stable position of the carbon brush relative to the rotatable collector body in both radial and tangential directions in a housing. Particularly, the system has a substantially symmetric structure in tangential direction of rotation, through being provided with a first section (30,36) and a second section (29, 38) that collectively constitute the spring part. Furthermore, a carbon brush part (22, 24) is structurally fixed to the spring part.
Abstract: A crankshaft of an engine is coaxially connected with a main shaft of a transmission through an input shaft. In the transmission, a counter shaft is incorporated below and in parallel with the main shaft. There are provided a main transmission and a sub transmission between the main shaft and the counter shaft. The driving force of the engine is divided into a front driving force and a rear driving force by a center differential and the front driving force is transmitted from the counter shaft to front wheels through a front drive shaft incorporated below and in parallel with the counter shaft and a front differential. The rear driving force is transmitted to rear wheels through a rear drive shaft and a rear differential.
Abstract: An apparatus for activating and/or deactivating a security device, particularly an entry device for a motor vehicle, having a portable transmitter unit for wirelessly transmitting a coded information item which is received by a receiver apparatus and is compared with a prescribed coded information item, the receiver apparatus being capable of outputting an actuation signal to the security device if the two coded information items match, and wherein the codes of the transmitter unit and the receiver apparatus can be updated in terms of the currently coded information items to prevent unauthorized use of the motor vehicle.

Abstract: An invention relates to an apparatus for activating and/or deactivating a security device, particularly an entry device for a motor vehicle, having a portable transmitter unit for wirelessly transmitting a coded information item which is received by a receiver apparatus and is compared with a prescribed coded information item, the receiver apparatus being capable of outputting an actuation signal to the security device if the two information items match, and the receiver apparatus being connected to a mechanical device for operating the security device. In an apparatus in which unauthorized deactivation of the security device is reliably prevented, the receiver apparatus is disabled for the reception and/or evaluation of the coded information items and/or for the output of the actuation signal to the security device after the security device has been mechanically activated, the block being lifted after the security device has been mechanically deactivated.
