  • Patent number: 6688146
Abstract: A rotary closure (1) having a carrying body (5) which carries a plug-in section (6) for plugging into a plug-in opening, in which the plug-in section (6) can be arrested by a retaining element (37) which can be rendered operational or non-operational by a rotary handgrip (4) being rotated, it being possible for the rotary handgrip (4) to be blocked by a combination lock having a plurality of number disks (10). For realizing a rotary closure which is of straightforward, compact construction and which can be used to close plug-in openings of objects of different configurations, there is provided a pull member (33) which can be displaced axially by the rotary handgrip (4) being rotated and is intended for actuating the retaining element (37).

  • Patent number: 6682201
Abstract: A dial for an indicating instrument, in particular in a motor vehicle. The dial comprises an optically conducting basic body whose outside is shaped as a two-stage cone. Except for light passages (10) forming symbols, the outside is covered by an opaque layer (9), the light, which hag previously been coupled into the basic body (2), exiting there. A special feature is that the basic body (2) is produced by injection molding, and this permits the production of a non-planar outer surface, the opaque layer (9) itself being produced on the outer surface.

  • Patent number: 6662608
Abstract: A central locking drive (10) serves for the actuation of various locking functions of a door lock, especially in motor vehicles' and has two drive members (18, 20, 22, 24), which are each adjustable between an inoperative position and an activated position. In order to be able to actuate additional locking functions' such as child safety for example, automatically, an additional drive member or expensive detection of intermediate positions of the two drive members has hitherto been necessary. In order to avoid this expense there is provided an operating element (26), which is moveable between a neutral position and at least one operating position, the attainment of a particular operating position of the operating element (26) being dependent upon the order in which the two drive members (18, 22) are activated. The operating element is displaced, for example, by interacting cam elements on the operating element (26) and the drive members.

  • Patent number: 6658843
Abstract: A hydraulic control arrangement which is provided for the demand-feed-regulated supply of pressure medium to preferably a plurality of hydraulic consumers by proportionally adjustable directional valves. There are hydraulic pumps by which pressure medium can be conveyed in a quantity corresponding to the demand into a common inflow line leading to the directional valves. A first demand-feed regulator is assigned to the first hydraulic pump and a second demand-feed regulator to the second hydraulic pump. The two demand-feed regulators are capable of being acted upon, with the effect of increasing the pressure medium quantity discharged into the inflow line by the corresponding hydraulic pump, by a spring and, on a first active surface, by the pressure in a load-signaling line and, with the effect of reducing the pressure medium quantity discharged into the inflow line by the corresponding hydraulic pump, on a second active surface, by a pump pressure.

  • Patent number: 6655003
Abstract: A method for assembling an electric motor (10) having a stator (34) and a rotor (32). It is endeavored to keep the air gap (38) as narrow as possible, in order to achieve good efficiency of the motor (10). However, component tolerances and assembly errors require generous dimensioning in order to avoid possible contact between the stator (34) and the rotor (32). To improve the accuracy of assembly, is proposed, during the insertion into one another of the rotor (32) and the stator (34), a centering aid (40, 42) is introduced into the air gap (38) at at least three points, the rotor (32) and the stator (34) are subsequently fixed in relation to one another and finally the centering aid (40, 42) is pulled out through openings (48) in the motor housing (20, 30).

  • Patent number: 6655218
Abstract: A composite material has a laminated structure of fiber-reinforced resin layers and films of a shape-memory alloy. A predetermined strain has been applied to each film. A damage sensor has a film of an alloy of nickel and titanium. An electric circuit is bonded to the film, and strain gages are connected to the electric circuit. The damage sensor can be laminated to the resin layers in place of the film of the shape-memory alloy. Damage to the composite material is suppressed as follows: A current is applied to the films of the shape-memory alloy, to monitor change in electric resistance of the films. The damage is located in response to the change in electric resistance. Another current is applied to a film of the shape-memory alloy for which the change is larger than the other films to generate heat for deforming the film to generate shrinking stress or shear stress to the damage.

  • Patent number: 6653567
Abstract: The invention relates to an indicating instrument, in particular for a motor vehicle, having a housing with a front frame holding a cover pane, and an elastic spacing element arranged between the cover pane and front frame, and to a method for connecting the cover pane to the front frame. In order to ensure a reliable connection between the cover pane and front frame which is without play, the invention proposes the spacing element be placed in an axial cutout which is arranged in the region of the circumference of the front frame and faces the cover pane, and in which the cover pane can engage. The method consists in that in a first step the spacing element is inserted into the axial cutout in the front frame, and in a second step the cover pane is pressed into the axial cutout against the spacing element.
