Abstract: The length of dwelling of a voice prosthesis in the fistula of a patient is extended by supporting the soft hollow body of the prosthesis with an elongated, rigid cartridge and mounting the flapper valve by means of a tab which extends through a slot in the flange of the cartridge. An enlarged cavity in the flange or the body communicates with the slot and receives the leading portion of the tab. The cavity is filled with adhesive to secure the valve to the cartridge.
Abstract: A cue holder including an upper member and a lower member having a plurality of rubber lined holders for cues and having a set of aligned jaws for removable attachment to a table. The jaws are adjusted by a threaded knob received in a horizontal opening in the lower jaw and on to a threaded bolt. As the knob is rotated, the lower jaw moves up and down relative to the upper jaw. A peg may be secured in the upper jaw and slidingly received in the lower jaw to prevent rotation of the jaws relative to each other.
Abstract: A packing body is formed from a sheet of foldable material by forming a first row of panels with first fold lines between adjacent panels, forming a second row of panels having a second fold line inducing a common fold line with an edge of at least one panel from the first row, the common fold line being substantially perpendicular to the first fold lines, and bending the panels in the first row along the first fold lines until the panels are positioned in a stack and bending the panels in the second row into a second stack and folding them along the common fold line above or below the first stack.
Abstract: The position of the rear esophageal flange of a voice prosthesis disposed in a tracheoesophageal fistula is determined by forming a distinctive radiopaque pattern on the flange, preferably by insert molding a radiopaque ring along the perimeter of the flange and radiographically imaging the flange to determine the pattern of the ring. Pattern recognition of the ring is improved by forming the concentric flapper valve of radiopaque material.
Abstract: Ball cap display and storage rack assembly comprising vertical members with lateral cross members formed to cooperate with ball cap capture arms rotatably snapped onto the cross members. The cap capture arm can accept the crown button of a ball cap whose rearward head cover portion has been collapsed forward towards the cap visor into the front head cover portion. The cap capture arm can then be rotated downward to capture the cap, via its crown button, between the capture arm and the cross member. A plurality of caps may be stored limited only by the area covered by the rack assembly. By suitably shaping and positioning the cross members during fabrication, a uniform and attractive display of the stored ball caps is achieved. The design of the cross members and the capture arm is such that the ball caps are presented much as they appear when worn thus logos and lettering on the visor and head cover portions are easily visualized.
Abstract: An improved attaching device for releasably attaching a marking device to a tape measure having a tape measure housing containing a measuring tape, said attaching device comprising a marker retaining arm pivotally mounted on said device and movable between a marking position engageable with a surface to be marked adjacent said measuring tape and a storage position located in a position which is compatible with insertion of said housing into a workbelt pocket.
