  • Patent number: 7450921
Abstract: The invention provides a communication semiconductor integrated circuit (RF IC) that, when a transmission oscillator is incorporated into a semiconductor chip, secures the oscillation operation over a wide frequency range, prevents a deterioration of a transmission spectrum, and thereby enhances the accuracy of an oscillation frequency. The integrated circuit corrects a dispersion of the KV characteristic of the transmission oscillator by calibrating a current Icp of the charge pump inside the phase control loop. More in concrete, the integrated circuit measures a KV value Kv of the transmission oscillator, and calibrates the current Icp of the charge pump so that Kv·Icp falls into a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7451473
Abstract: A video distribution method and a video distribution system connected to a transmission path such as the Internet. The system has a video signal input unit, an encoder for converting the video signal into a digitally compressed image data, an image accumulation and distribution unit for accumulating and distributing the digitally compressed image data, a notification unit for reading the accumulated images and detecting an image change, an image browsing data converter for reducing the accumulated image, and an information terminal for accessing the images of the image accumulation and distribution unit and the image browsing data converter. The notification unit, upon detection of an image change, records the image change occurrence time. The information terminal acquires the image from the image accumulation and distribution unit or the video browsing data converter based on the change occurrence time information stored in the notification unit.

  • Patent number: 7451485
Abstract: A malfunction detection system is provided that can continue or terminate processing appropriately even if a malfunction occurs in an information processing unit. In this regard, the information processing unit receives branch direction information, carries out a conditional branch depending on the branch direction information, and performs an applicable operation on data I. At this time, the information processing unit performs an applicable operation on data J, other than the operated data I, in the conditional branch path and outputs the result for examination, thereby enabling validation of the conditional branch.

  • Patent number: 7449157
Abstract: A catalytic exhaust gas decomposition spirals an exhaust gas containing therein a substance to be decomposed and a reactant gas, rectifies the spiral flow, and lets the substance to be decomposed react with the reactant gas after the spiral flow has been rectified. For rectifying the spiral flow of the exhaust gas and the reactant gas, a plate-like baffle wall has therein a through hole at a portion near its center. The spiral flow is allowed to pass through the through hole so as to be centralized temporarily. The spiral flow then passes through an enlarged section of a flow path downstream of the through hole before being introduced into the catalyst bed. The method helps minimize variations in gas velocity of the exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst bed, thereby allowing a desired decomposition rate to be obtained substantially consistently.

  • Patent number: 7447256
Abstract: A receiver for the CDMA system which reduces power consumption during a suspension period of intermittent receiving operation by monitoring a suspension period by a low-power timer so that a VC-TCXO, reference signal group generation and receiving units are turned off and a modem unit is set to a sleep state. Upon resumption of receiving operation, a high-accuracy timer is started to count a time period and part of a received signal is stored. A PN code phase of stored data is calculated during the time period to obtain an indication value for phase deviation. State vectors for short and long codes and a further reception time are calculated based on the indication value. When the high-accuracy timer counts the time period and produces OV(d), demodulation operation by a rake demodulation, demultiplexing, and descrambler units is started and is continued during the reception time.

  • Patent number: 7447840
Abstract: When a bus is used as a data communication channel, data within a disk unit cannot be reproduced or copied into a spare disk while a control unit is making read/write processing based on a request from a host computer, or vice versa. Thus, a loop is constructed by a fiber channel capable of time division multiplex function, and the processing between the disk unit and the spare is performed not through the control unit so that the data within the disk can be copied into the spare while the processing between the host computer and the disk unit is being performed, or both processing operations can be executed in parallel.

  • Patent number: 7447269
Abstract: In a radio-communication system and a radio station, one or more subcarriers are grouped, and the maximum bit number per symbol of the modulation method used for each subcarrier is determined for each group and shared between a transmitting station and a receiving station. The transmitting station divides and allocates a coded signal to subcarriers in accordance with the bit number per symbol, modulates each of the allocated signals by a predetermined modulation method, and transmits the modulated signals. The receiving station demodulates the received signal by the predetermined modulation method, adds a signal having zero likelihood when the bit number per symbol of a modulation method for demodulation is different from a maximum bit number, and decodes the demodulated signal by summarizing the demodulated results.

  • Patent number: 7447858
Abstract: There is provided a storage system suitable for an open system which has advanced security functions for logical devices. In a storage system such as a RAID system, 6 types of access attributes which are Readable/Writable, Read Only, Unreadable/Unwritable, Read Capacity 0, Inquiry Restricted, and S-vol Disable, can be set for each logical device. Read Capacity 0 makes a response “capacity 0” upon inquiries from hosts about capacity. Inquiry Restricted does not permit the hosts to recognize logical devices. S-vol Disable does not permit pair forming for duplication of a logical device with another device as the destination of copying. Upon receipt of commands from hosts of the open system, the storage system changes command processes and responses, depending on the difference in operation system, vendor, version, or the like, between hosts.
