Abstract: In an amplifier which generates an output voltage which is proportional to an input voltage and can be picked off between the outputs of two push-pull output stages and has peak-to-peak values of up to twice the supply voltage of the push-pull output stages, each push-pull output stage is driven by a differential amplifier having a positive and a negative differential input in each instance and whose polarity is so defined that the outputs of the two push-pull output stages have voltages of like polarity when identical voltages are present between the positive and negative differential inputs of the two differential amplifiers, a differential input of one differential amplifier being connected with a differential input of like polarity of the other differential amplifier. The remaining two differential inputs of the differential amplifiers are provided for applying a voltage proportional to the input voltage.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and arrangement for measuring using magnetic flow measurement, the flow velocity of a liquid, particularly water. In the solution according to the invention, a component that is in the same phase with the magnetic field is measured from the sinusoidal voltage induced in the electrodes. The solution according to the invention can be utilized, for example, in measuring the flow velocity of water flowing in a water pipeline.

Abstract: Ceramic or base metal particles of a mean diameter of 0.01 to 0.5 .mu.m having thereon bactericidal metal particles of a mean diameter of 0.0001 to 0.1 .mu.m (the mean diameter of the bactericidal metal particles is smaller than the mean diameter of the ceramic or base metal particles) are effective to give a bactericidal surface of a plastic article when they are embedded on the surface under the condition that a portion of the particle is exposed over the surface of the plastic article. The above ceramic or base metal particles having the bactericidal metal particles on their surface are also effective to sterilize liquid or solid material.
Abstract: A new and useful anchor for use in the installation of a composite building panel. The anchor comprises a vertically upstanding wall mounting face and a spacer extending normal to the wall mounting face. Spaced outwardly from the wall mounting face by the spacer there is provided a first longitudinally extending flange-receiving groove opening in a first vertical direction. Adjacently deposed to the first flange-receiving groove with a common middle wall there is provided a second longitudinally extending flange-receiving groove opening in an opposite vertical direction. Fasteners mount the anchor means to the wall.
Abstract: A strainer for filtering a pumped fluid has a strainer body having a wall provided with fluid inlet perforations in an outer surface, a surface cleaning scraper or brush in juxtaposition with the outer surface, and a drive operatively connected to the surface cleaner for moving the surface cleaner over the outer surface for removing accumulated debris. At least one nozzle is oriented towards the cleaned outer surface of the strainer body for directing a jet of liquid against the perforations to assure that the perforations are clear. The strainer is thus self-cleaned continuously without requiring a back wash operation, allowing continuous flow through the strainer.
Abstract: A gas generator assembly has an igniter post having a substantially tubular body. The body has a plurality of holes passing from the interior to the exterior of the body for igniting. A preformed head on one end of the body has a diameter larger than that of the body. A transverse wall closes off the tubular body opposite the head end. A ductile rim having a diameter comparable to the body diameter, is extendable through an opening in the combustion chamber wall after pellet loading the rim is flared outwardly to lock the post to the assembly, and thereby form an additional head on the igniter post.
Abstract: An automatic tension controlling mechanism of a control cable having a tension controlling mechanism. The tension controlling mechanism includes a case through which through a threaded rod of a control cable passes, a split threaded ring composed of plural split parts stored in the case which can be meshed with threaded rod, a spring stored in the case, and a tapered face formed in the case so as to urge the split threaded ring in the direction of meshing with the threaded rod.
Abstract: A cam switch mechanism comprises a drive source, such as a motor, a cam driven by the drive source, a switching device responsive to contacting the cam surface of the cam for switching its electrically conducting state and a control unit, such as a microcomputer, for controlling the drive source. Control of the drive source by the control unit makes it possible to set positions of the cam as desired and permits the electrically conducting state of the switching means to be freely set. The control unit controls the drive direction, stopping and drive speed of the drive source.
Abstract: A sound reproduction device such as a headphone with active noise compensation has a housing and a transducer for converting electrical signals to sound waves is disposed within the housing. The transducer has a diaphragm for separating the volume (V.sub.2) in front of the diaphragm from the volume (V.sub.1) to the rear of the diaphragm. The transducer diaphragm and rear volume (V.sub.1) have a determined compliance. The sound reproduction device includes active noise compensation components for reducing unwanted noise at the output of the transducer. The diaphragm has a compliance (N.sub.M) which is less than the compliance (N.sub.1) of the rear volume (V.sub.1). The diaphragm is preferably constructed from a plurality of layers. In a further preferred arrangement, a damping element is disposed very close to the rear side of the diaphragm. A preferred construction for optimizing the voice coil is described.
Abstract: A hydrodynamic bearing apparatus which includes at least two hydrodynamic bearing sections for rotatably supporting a shaft member and a cylindrical member, where the bearing sections constitute a continuous bearing clearance. A hydrodynamic pressure generating portion is provided for generating a hydrodynamic pressure in a lubricant which is filled in the bearing clearance. One hydrodynamic generating portion is shaped asymmetrically to move the lubricant in one direction. Two capillary sealing sections are also provided. One capillary sealing section is positioned downstream in a moving direction of the lubricant and is configured such that the lubricant moves by a predetermined amount to cancel a differential pressure which is generated at the hydrodynamic bearing sections.
Abstract: The escape system comprises a series of wall openings along a building wall and a stocking of mesh cloth material extending along the wall. The stocking has a series of access openings to the interior of the stocking and a series of annular bracing rings for bracing the stocking. Each bracing ring is braced against the building wall by a bridge-like connection between an access opening in the stocking and an associated opening in the building wall.
Abstract: The hydraulic system is used to drive a hydraulic motor for operation in a quartering direction for lowering of cargo as well as for operating the drive motor in a lifting direction. The hydraulic system employs an oil-gas accumulator which accumulates pressure oil during a quartering mode of operation of the drive motor. During a subsequent lifting mode of operation of the drive motor, stored pressure oil is used for the operation of the drive motor.
Abstract: A supplementary seat-back for vehicles comprising two rigid jointed plates, one functioning as the seat body and the other as the back body. The plates serve as supports for cushions which form the exterior surface of the seat and back bodies. The plates are joined by side hinges and thus are foldable. The cushioning has slits or openings which can be adapted for the user's buttocks and scrotum and the cushion attached to the back plate has a central vertical slit for adapting to the spinal column.
Abstract: An ultraviolet absorber comprising, as an effective component, a benzotriazole compound represented by the following general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R represents hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or phenyl. The ultraviolet absorber undergoes minimal sublimation, has excellent thermal resistance, provides satisfactory light fastness for materials made of polyester-based synthetic fibers, particularly cation-dyeable polyester-based fibers, and is also inexpensive, generates few by-products and is easy to produce industrially.

Abstract: An antitheft system installed on a motor vehicle has an electronic control unit connected to a localization information detector and to a telephone apparatus, so that the control unit can produce a voice message and then transmit it directly to the police and/or to a security organization by means of the telephone apparatus, when a plurality of sensors detect certain conditions such as the theft of the vehicle. The message may also be sent by the system to a person authorized to use the motor vehicle by means of a transmitter-receiver radio and a portable transceiver radio. Voice messages are contained in a first mass memory unit, localization information derived from a second mass memory unit, the message selected on the basis of satellite signals received and decoded by the system.
